Here in the Philippines, that song “Wind Beneath my Wings” is usually a song that we dedicate to our parents. That song talks about a person’s love and appreciation for his/her parents/significant other whose love has pushed that person to become what he/she has become. Probably thats why Morrisette was crying... She feels so much love & appreciation for her parents who have supported her to become what she is today. Many of us here in the 🇵🇭 would be able to cry over that song just by listening to (and internalizing) its lyrics.❤️

Watching Morissette go through this song was gut-wrenching and had I been on that audience, I probably would get emotional and teary-eyed as well. This concert coincided with the celebration of Mother's Day three years ago. This song evidently was dedicated to her mother who was in the audience. In one of Morissette's interviews, she shared that her mom was her pillar of strength and the major all-out supporter when she started in show business as a singer/artist. Her mother has always been on Morissette's side through thick and thin, through joys and sorrows. Thus, this was a fitting tribute to her mom for her first major sold-out concert outside of Manila, a venue that has 10K audience capacity.

The event was a Mother's day concert, and Mori dedicated the song to her mom who was in the audience. That's why she was emotional singing the song. Btw, even fancam videos of Mori taken with either a handcam or a cellphone, you can still hear Mori's singing prowess shining through. This thoroughly validates Morissette as a singing phenom! I sang this song to and for my dad. I started when I was 12. He was my wind and hero. He passed in 2016 and the day I saw him before he died when I tried to sing this he wasn’t lucid but he put his hand on my cheek and said love you baby girl. I can’t even listen to it with out crying. But my older boys always asked me to sing it my baby girl who was born the day after he died loves to listen it

Mori's dad left them when she's young for her affair but her mom is still there for their family. Her mom is her hero.

I have read that Mori left her family in the province to pursue her music career in Manila, and her mother was with her all the way and helped her to get to the top, much sacrifices and tears so as a struggle in the beginning. Her mother was in the crowds dedicating this song to her. I cried as well listening to her.
