People may have mixed feelings about American Girl, but we have chosen to embrace the good parts! As a young girl, I always wanted a Samantha doll, but never received one as a little girl. As an adult, I was struggling with PPD and rh sweetest gift arrived on my porch! A limited addition Samantha doll from my mom and sister. One of the sweetest gifts I've ever received!
Fast forward, we decided to get the girls American Girl Dolls for Christmas. Then, for their birthdays, we headed to Chicago to experience the store before they got too old for it to be magical!
We stayed at the Courtyard Marriot, which was about a half mile from the American Girl store. The hotel offered little beds for the American Girl Dolls and a robe... Though we opted not to do this because I felt the fee was a bit much.
Overall we had a great experience!
* The personal shopper was over-the-top nice. This was a free service we signed up for before going.
* The hair salon was a treat! One of the girls got their hair done and all three dolls had their hair done as well.
* The luncheon was good food and the birthday cake was yummy! They had chairs for your dolls too!
Since we had some time between waking up and our lunch at the store, we went to Shedd Aquarium... It was awesome and the kids loved it!
We may need to do another trip in a couple years!
