This was the best anything I have ever seen on Netflix! Praise God for this truth getting out there!

That scripture that says "You thought I was one like yourself." always gives me the chills man. Especially when you're making tough decisions and don't want to presume to know the mind of God. To this day, I never say the Lord told me this or that unless it is explicitly contextualized and written in His word. Y'all didn't know I was about to go that deep, did you?

I just finished watching this documentary today. The life experiences and testimonies were so amazing and thought provoking. For anyone who does not know the true gospel, please watch this, but prayerfully you will read the Bible, starting with the gospel of John. Please stop watching these prosperity teachers and read for yourself. Then find a Bible believing church in your local area to attend.

I spent many years in the Evangelical/Pentecostal church. When I got stage 3-4 kidney cancer, while I was at university, before my kidney removal surgery, I called TBN for prayer and the lady that prayed for me got into an argument with the lady next to her because she wouldn't ask me for a donation like their job entails...because I was crying and sick. She probably got in trouble for me. It was when I was sick that I fully realized how terrible the church I was attending and the churches I visited were. They definitely don't know how to deal with sick or poor people (who could no longer pay). I joined the Catholic church and my eyes opened to the real Gospel, real Christianity. 50% of Christians world wide are Catholic, 25% are Orthodox, 25% are from many different protestant churches. Europe is mostly Catholic, Poland is the most Catholic country in Europe, though you wouldn't know that in America. Everything I previously knew about Catholicism, I had learned from Evangelicals and so everything I knew was contorted and wrong. If you want to know what Catholics actually believe, you need to ask a priest or attend RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). There are also playlists on youtube of RCIA.

Joel Osteen is daily reaching more people with his message of hope than the sum of those who criticise him. Sadly, their gospel isn’t Good News, and few will listen. It’s like that man shouting on the street corner, condemning people to hell. He has no audience.

I praise God for the way you denounce the errors and false teaching of the prosperity gospel, word of faith, hypercharismatic and N.A.R movement. I agree with you that there are a lot of abuse of all kinds in the church worldwide. I too had my eyes opened to all those errors, I was spitiritual abused when I decided to leave my fellowship due to doctrinal errors and could no longer stay under their teachings. Your documentary confirmed a lot of what I experienced. I was gullible and had no idea about all the various biblical world view... Last year was a big eye opener year while learning about the different biblical world view. What I discover with God's leading is that even the calvinist reformed movement have some errors. I do like their teaching very much but there are not without mistake themselves. So I praise God for guiding me in Spirit and in Truth and putting some humble teachers on my path, those that are not afraid to admit that they don't know everything all of the time but are prepare to learn and search the bible in its context for truth and eventually admit if the were wrong about something. We must be carefull to remain humble at all time and continue to be teachable. The Prosperity Gospel: There's a sucker born every minute.

I watched this for the first time and I really enjoyed it. However, I follow Elevation church and I have never witnessed Steven Furtick being "word of faith" or preaching "Prosperity Gospel". I think it was unfair to include him in this documentary. Ive never heard him preach that if we do good works we will get everything we ask for.

Documentaries like this may have good intentions, but truthfully they do more harm than good. These films are merely cessationist propaganda used as a club to beat those who believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are still active today. The members of Christ’s body need to stop fighting each other, as Jesus said, “By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.” The Apostle Paul said, “So we, being many, are one body in Christ, each member being mutually dependent on one another.” May we cease being sectarian, and use our time wisely by doing the will of our Father in Heaven. I resent the title. The church in the US is much larger and varied than any movement, no matter how large this is. The title does the gospel and America a disservice, in the broader perspective. Especially with the extreme being so focused upon. What if they had made a movie about the extremes of the church in Corinth, shortly after being founded by Paul, and they called it The Greek Gospel? Besides the language thing, it is not indicative of the country, or even noncessationists.

Question ? If this documentary is explaining the Gospel is believing in Jesus Christ only and nothing else nothing absolutely nothing else then why does it have preachers like Paul Washer and Ray Comfort who clearly call for you to repent of your sins AND believe in Jesus Christ instead of just Believe to saved and ol by the way if you mess up and commit those sins your either not a believer or you lost your Salvation? Repent of sins is also not mentioned in the Bible (KJV) if you tell me I have to Repent of my sins to be saved that is clearly works salvation how can anyone see that is not works salvation if I quit sinning and totally repent of all sin then I’m doing it so God will give me something in return. Right? Well I tried it no man can do it yet here is this confusing message. I’ve listened to Paul Washer and Ray Comfort and it can put a Christian down and I used to be that Christian but now it makes me mad and I wish it didn’t it’s hard not to get mad with people who preach this confusing message but I can’t help it cause all the people suffering cause of a confusing message and Lord help us the ones who may be thinking about suicide (please don’t) or unfortunately those who have actually done it already and knowing a mixed repent to be saved or stay saved by keeping fruit and believing has done this to people. Does in fact anger me does it not you ? Paul Washer uses terms like “the true Christian” that’s clearly someone who lives Holy to him not just someone who believes in Jesus Christ to save them. I’m not attacking him because there are many many other preaching the same sort of message and he is just a man and possibly confused like I was before when I used to think and tell the same sort of message. The message is simple believe In Jesus Chris and your will be Saved. PERIOD Repent means to change your mind so stop trying to earn Salvation. Not sinning or repenting of your sin is not going to save your soul. There is a cult of Lordship Salvation in America today and it’s no different than the Catholic Church. Have people been saved and seen the true simple Gospel through a confusing message like that? I sure hope so and I think they have BUT we must rest in God’s love and understand Jesus has done it ALL that is what I believe and I am passionate about it I don’t Proclaim this message like I should but when I see this kinda stuff it burst out. Critiqing the prosperity gospel does not make calvinism correct. Both are false.

Unfortunately, this is not the gospel either. It is easy to look good against the likes of Joel Osteen, the prosperity gospel and the Roman Catholic Church, but they are all straw man arguments. Proving them wrong does not make you right. The Evangelical gospel is like knitting a sweater and realizing you missed a stitch right in the beginning. You can either unravel the whole thing and start over, or tuck in the sweater in an attempt to hide the error and hope that no one notices.
