I remember watching this as a kid on the CBS Sunday night movie!!!!!! The second time they showed it we recorded it on a VHS. My sister and me watched it everyday!! After college I got into custom harvesting and had my own crew. No doubt this movie had a Big influence. God Bless the American farmer!
And yet you could not compete against the Soviet Union that harved 2 times more grain then the entire world combined. No matter the size of your farming equipment.
I'm trying to find a movie for my friend. The movie was set on a farm on an island off the coast of Washington state. A Japanese/American family hired a farm hand to work for them. The hand ended up having an affair with the farmer's wife. He entertained the 2 kids by doing such things as listening to a radio station on his comb. I believe this film came out around 1970.
Those Gleaners were some beautiful combines and way ahead of there times compared to deere, that still can't compete with a 30 plus year old design with there latest machines.
hi there i been lookin fer this movie fer awhile. just wondern if you have a copy you could send me? it would be greatly appreciated....it kinda an early xmas gift.
