I’ve gone to 3 different high schools. Some have daily periods ( same schedule every day. Classes usually around 45-1hr) and some do block schedules which basically means you’re on a rotating schedule so the classes are twice as long as they would be but you don’t take them everyday
The person in the video has a block schedule which is more common in many American high schools it's where you have just as many classes as you would in a non block schedule except the classes are spread out to where you only have a couple classes per day and their different every other day (example: Monday and Wednesday you have these classes but on Tuesday and Thursday you would have a different set of classes) this also means the classes are a lot longer so you spend like two hours in four classes rather than an hour per class.
Guys for everyone who is confused about the scheduling, it’s block schedule! The first 4 periods is on one day and then the other 4 are on the next day and so on so forth… just to clear anything up!
I did not realize that other schools did 8 classes a day! I'm at an early college so a block schedule only makes sense because that is what almost all colleges use, but our local high schools also all work on a block schedule.
In your class 12th, you do study only 3 subjects, here in India we study 6 subject everyday if you are Bio and Maths student Physics, Chemistry is necessary with any two language subject
I’m my class in America and most others we study English, Math, Social study’s/ history, science, a foreign language, and some other ones in some schools.
That was normal for me, it was actually okay I preferred the longer classes for only 4-5 courses. In middle school I had like 9 or 10 classes and that was a lot to do like 45 minutes classes.
@@actual_doge3221 I have I think like 47 minute classes with 7 periods. I honestly didn’t even know ppl say that long lmao. I couldn’t I have adhd I struggle with 45 minutes.
@@PickleThePig12 lol everyone is different. I do remember students who rlly hated the longer classes but in my mind it meant I just got more time with my lovely friends. I stayed friends with them into adulthood.
So little classes and for so long! In my school we have 8 periods everysingle day not including lunch. Each is only about 33-44 minutes depending on the day 😭

@@CharlotteAndLolaDude, it SUCKSSSSS If you miss a day, then you have to wait a day to see the teacher and find out what you missed. Not to mention that if you hate a class, you’re stuck there for at least an hour and a half, if not more. It also sucks because you have to figure out what day is what when you come back from breaks, which often leads to going to the wrong first period. It also means that you may only have friends in your classes every other day, or you can get stuck with all your worst/hardest subjects on one of the days.

@@coffeevanilla2801 my school starts at 7:30 and ends at 3:20 and most days i have something after school like tutoring or rehearsal (1 to 3 hours) so an 8 hour day sounds amazing and there's so much homework
Yeah don’t listen to him. America is not all that great, especially the public schools. There is so much racism, bullying and sexism that is completely normalized and the education system sucks so bad for most schools. Not to mention the extremely high amounts of shooting threats that a lot of schools get
it's not really all that, teachers have bad teaching methods, most teachers honestly don't care if you fail or not, school education is horrible not as advanced or challenging, school shootings/threats happen way too often, school fights constantly as well (coming from a student who's studied both in korea and america)
@@NeemaNamitu-jh3jl american studies are the best...? that's simply not true. even statistically. i'm a foreigner that went to an american high school and i can guarantee that...depending on the state and region...american high schools suck. especially when it come to ACTUALLY learning...there's a reason americans are stereotyped as ignorant and dumb by other countries. we don't actually LEARN ANYTHING!! Teachers here are paid so poorly that they don't care about their job OR the students.
I graduated in 2019. Started school at 8:15 am end at 4:30 pm. It was actually ok, my only complaint really is the food. You got a little better after Michelle Obama stopped messing with it.
Having classes be 2 hours long each is crazy. You could could have so many more classes and learn a lot more if you only do them for about an hour or 45 min
It’s block scheduling, so they have certain classes every other day. For my school. It’s four classes one day, then three classes and a homework block on the other day.
You don’t wanna come to America inflation is crazy America isn’t as good as it seems fr fr there’s trash every were and almost everything is polluted we say the world is gunna die no America is gunna die our oceans are brown bro
This is really cool to see, I go to school in the downtown area of Nashville Tennessee (Music City USA) and never think about how people look at my school. To me those are regular classrooms and a standard school environment that you could find in any city. It’s cool to see thing through ur lense!
My Fridays are like this this except slightly longer classes and an earlier time to get out 8:30 - 10 AP environmental Science 10:07 - 11:37 US History 11:37 - 11:52 Brunch 11:59 - 1:29 Intg Math 3
Honestly dude it depends, when I was in Middle School I had a really close group of friends but when we change to high school we got separated to different high schools one of them ended at 4:15 and they had detention as well we didn't do that in my school
For anyone confused this is called a block schedule which is where you only have about four classes a day but their different every other day and they last two hours rather than in most elementary-middle schools where its the same classes every day and their an hour each, this is a very common system that American high schools use.
In my school we also have block schedule, A day and B day. (Tho the academics ex:English, math, history etc) are very day. We alternate for P.E Tech and Music, every other day. Schools starts: 7:45-2:30, I wake up at 6:00 because my bus comes at.. 6:45 💀
So I’m in Australia yeah? And the high here is from grade 7 (we call it year 7) till grade 12 (we call it year 12). And we usually have 4 periods a day with 2 breaks. You’re allowed to do whatever you want in the breaks. And 1 period is for like 1h 30m usually. Other than the occasional “vaping” here (it has started to decrease), Australian high school is quite fun.
In Germany one class is 45 minutes long. In Highschool however you would always have block sessions, which makes 90 minutes per class. On a regular school day I had 4 classes, starting at 7:35am and finishing at 2:45pm on rare occasions I had 3 classes and on others I had 5, finishing at 4:30pm

Guys, I live in Pennsylvania and a lot of schools are doing block schedules (including mine), which for me, is 4 subjects a day + a flex/study period. Once the second semester starts, we start 4 more different classes for the rest of the year!

American colleges really aren’t all that great either, the intelligence of Americans is facing a rapid decrease as time goes on. Also, college is absurdly expensive, unless you go to a community college or a local 4 year college like I do. Do the classes, build up your resume by interning, shadowing, and researching, get the degree, and get out as soon as you can; that’s the goal. As for the school system, a current average 7th grader (around 13 years old) has the reading comprehension level of a 2nd-4th grader (7-10 years old). I think that in itself is telling enough of the condition of the public education system of this nation.
Dude I’ve only ever heard of 50 minute classes😂 at my school we have seven classes each day each 50 minutes… also, I WISH I COULD GET OUT AT TWO I HAVE CLASS TILL 3 THEN THEATRE TILL 6
My story: so I have a rare medical condition which I get sick very easily and really bad migraines and sometimes seizures and fainting. But anyways I went to public school my whole life and I had an amazing nurse and since I. Need a lot of attention when it comes to helping me when I don’t feel well at school, my nurse is great at that. She knew what to do (since I was there almost everyday for 1-2 hours). However, a year ago my nurse left and then there was a new nurse and me and my parents had a chat with her and what she should do when I come to the nurses office everyday, and it seemed fine until one day I had really bad migraines and I came in to take some medication and lay down but then she didn’t let me lay down and told me I was overrreacting (I have a medical condition so I am not overreacting). Anyways, this happened more and more often so we decided to go to a private school. We found this school that was a couple of blocks away from our house and it is for special needs/people with medical conditions. We decided to apply to it and we got a response that I was eligible for the school! This school has many nurses and staff that will recognize you and they will give you everything you need. So we went to the nurse night where I met my nurse and she was awesome and so nice. The best thing is that if I have to skip a lot of school which I do, I can follow along with a homeschool program that is part of the school and I can go on zoom calls with my teachers if I feel up for it. I have been going to this new school for a while and I love it so much everyone is so nice and I also get to brag to my siblings because I get to sleep in because my school starts later and ends earlier😂.
@@ShevinAndresenthe teachers aren’t the best, and the students don’t help. Bad students, teachers yell a lot, the food is usually not good(one time I got bread buns and a cold unidentifiable meat) and there’s poor security-
