‘American Idol’ contestant Nutsa defends herself after being accused by a fellow contestant of sleeping through rehearsals. ‘American Idol’ airs Sundays and Mondays on ABC.
y’all know that over practicing, especially when it’s vocal, can have the opposite effect right? but sleeping for a couple hours and letting your voice rest up, then warming it up and practicing again is actually the best way to get a good performance.
I’m one of those people that think sleep is important regardless of what happens in your life, so I completely understand her and she never had to apologize
Wow, she kept a smile and stayed silent while being thrown under the bus by her singing partner! That is grace actually. She refused to be apart of the drama.
Seemed like Karina wanted to throw Nutsa under the bus so she would advance if anything and Nutsa would not. That was shady to blindside your duet partner like that even after she still came back after what seemed like a short nap and tried to get you both pumped up for the performance.
Sleep is just as important if not more then practicing till all hours into the night. If you’re expected to use your body in order to accomplish a task, whether it’s singing, dancing, etc. you need to take care of it and one of the best things you can do for yourself is sleep and rest so that you have the energy to do what is required of you. Americans are so soft and easily insulted and I’m not surprised one bit that Carina felt the need to bring that up to judges. No one deserves an apology when you’re doing what you need to do so that you can perform to the best of your ability.
@@raxysomblers5223 you know it's funny u mentioned her 'coz I was thinking about her while watching the video and reading this comment...I was thinking about when in a documentary or an interview she said that when she is rehearsing she is so in to it that she forget to pee or something like this...But honestly Beyoncé is not human...Me I'd definately need to pee my sleeping beauty...and to eat too 😂😂

I'm living for these nice comments, I love that people are supporting her. She could have defended herself on stage but she chose to keep quiet so as not to cry (I can relate lol), and she was so level headed about it. I definitely wasn't expecting nice comments. I hope she goes far
Nutsa has really, really put herself out there and seems very genuinely sweet as well as professional. I hope she goes far on AI this year. So much competition this year that I could see her in the top 3 if she can work on the diction just a little. I am pretty excited for all the contestants and I think the judges are just amazing.. I cry with joy every time I watch the judges encourage and sincerely enjoy their positions on this platform.. This season is right up there with the beginning of the pandemic season..
For some reason, it sounded like the one girl slept with someone instead of practicing with her co-partner. But, instead I find out that she was actually getting beauty sleep for the event. I see nothing wrong with that, AT ALL. Why is the other girl taking practicing way too far?
Drama like this is yet another reason why the voice is better than American Idol. Idol is nothing but drama while the voice is just way more respectful, fun , family friendly, and has a better focus on the actual music and voice

Here's the thing what was the problem of her taking a nap. If I'm sleepy, go to sleep sometimes you have to. She made it seem she did nothing and just slept. Not sleeping is not okay. I knew someone who didn't sleep a lot. He worked all the time, and one day, he went to sleep and never woke up. Seem like the chick was thrown under the bus and paint a neg. look on her.
Yes good for her getting through but I'm SO SORRY TO HER FRIEND! Why allow yourself sleep and not your friend? TO EVERYONE- YOUR HEALTH IS VITAL! RESPECT YOURSELF TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! Allow your body rest when it needs it. We don't do 100% if we don't take care of ourselves. I'm diagnosed with epilepsy and that proper told me to listen to myself. In July last year on the 11th I still went into school despite hay fever but at about 12pm it went south, I had an absence seizure. I do want to work hard but I know I've got to listen to myself. HEALTH IS IMPORTANT! SELF-CARE IS SELF-RESPECT! There's nothing wrong with allowing yourself a break when needed.
You can't sleep whenever you want to especially having a big music career. You sleep when you can you have practice you have to perform meet and greet do interviews and so much more.
I just love the fact that the girl didn't clap back at her on stage, it would have been a disaster. She really handled it well, kudos 2 her.👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 People think when u don't sleep, it means ur hardworking which is utterly bullshit! People are more efficient after they have a good rest, and this rule is one of the few rules applicable to just everybody!

Literally that’s it. Oh I really did like Phillip Phillips tho. Beyond that and the above mentioned names - I couldn’t name a winner in the last decade. Same with the voice…just so overdone now, no one is special. It’s sad.
i don't think this is the real her... many things are scripted by producers and also maybe she wants to be harsh to show these people what show business is like... idk but i've been a fan of hers for years and she's not like that in interviews or when she talks to fans, she is always humble and considerate
Sleeping too much isn’t always a sign of laziness. It’s also a huge sign of depression, and also insomnia for those who have a hard time sleeping through the night… it sucks because it makes people appear careless, and most people would overlook a sign of depression or any kind of mental illness. For all I know, this woman could very well be careless, selfish, or unconcerned… but let’s not forget that it could be something deeper
I know I hate TikTok to be honest I miss real talent I was just saying this is what the world came to and it's sad and every song you hear on the radio now is being sampled from old music there just signing everybody now
I'm sorry but the song Nutsa played that she "SLAYED" on has been overused and quite frankly I've seen too many people get pushed for singing Proud Mary Rollin. I think if a lot of people are able to get somewhere with that song then it forces me to believe that it's too easy to sing.
Nutsa did well all that drama carina made about nutsa not taking it as seriously as her only to be the one who didn’t make the cut.nutsa went to bed bc she came prepared. She flew all the way down for this and practiced for god knows how long to sing in a whole different language.
Nutsa is a class act and amazingly talented. Her duet partner was jealous of her and threw her under the bus. I'm glad that she got sent home. Karma is a bitch.
They had to rehearse for a duet. Nutsa felt confident that she knew the song, so she went to bed. Her partner needed more time to practice and was mad that Nutsa left. So her partner was stressing out and called her to go back. When they performed the other girl didn't do so great and got sent home.
katy is a hypocrite, so she can cry about exhaustion or vent about non stop practice and shit and ENCOURAGE mental and physical health but nuitsa in that moment couldnt. Uh ok
This is so atupid. People dont understand that everbody is different. I can go with only 2 hours of sleep and can still perform during insane work days. However, that doesnt mean I deserve praise or am "better" I have so many metabolic and health issues that Im sure not getting quality sleep doesnt help. Having the self awareness to know your body needs a break and actually give it that break is so commendable and shouldn't be looked at as weakness. Not listening to and giving your body what it needs can kill you. Also Katy, whether you like her or not is seasoned, has experience and has done this for over a decade now. Contestants who get to live shows havent had the access to nutritionists and fitness coaches pro singers and perfomers have to condition and train their bodies to do this. Asking all of that from a young singer who has a passion but has never experienced the toll that industry takes on your body, isnt fair. I cannot even begin to onow how exhausted and tired she must have been

Her apology was misdirected and came off disingenuous. Apologizing to the judges instead of her duet partner who was clearly affected by her choice to “go to sleep “ was definitely not the way to go about it. 🙄
