i am so glad you tried the gatsbies, the best gatsbies are more in the cape malay districts like wynberg and athlone, the gatsbies to go for are the full house flame grilled steak gatsby at cosey corner in wynberg and full house gatsby at the golden dish in athlone, another popular food is Vienna and chips parcels at aneesas in wynberg and grab a few samoosas too, chicken and steak rotis are also very popular also braai(barbeque) is very popular, braai chops, steak, chicken and sausage, preferably with wood instead of coals

Their Gatsby's aren't the "best" they're okay. You'd have to travel outside the CBD to find a proper Gatsby.

When you look out your dad's previous bnb window and see the tall ABSA building... that's exactly where my apartment is ... there's a takeout place called Ocean Fisheries like a 2 minute walk away and they sell the absolute best Gatsby's and they are HUGE. It's a veryyy busy takeout place though because they are so so cheap so brace yourself for the experience 😂 Edit: I just watched your video and you can still see the absa building!!! That means you are still walking distance away 😂 there is also a Nandos on the exact same street, you should really try some of that as well :)

Where did you get that Gatsby from? Not all Gatsby's are created equally. They might look the same, but are very different. Try Koeksisters on a Sunday morning with you coffee. You should go get it somewhere in Bo-kaap though, which is right there in the CBD.

You're in Cape Town, so there's just about a gazillion foods you should try... From Rotis to Penny Polony... Then again, depending on where you are - the quality varies. By default, I suggest getting your best meals in the Southern Suburbs... get someone to pop in at Gatesville's Golden Dish for ya. Not many people like Penny polonies - but the best I found is from a shop who only makes them on Wednesdays in Walmer Heights... Penny polonies and mango atchar are the reason I ended up relocating and staying in Cape Town haha Great Vid!

Chicken Gatsby's don't usually taste curry like maybe its the place you bought it from that makes it like that.

You must try fish on the rocks, go to seal island. And visit a township. If you want you can visit the Cape flats but go with a coloured who knows the area and has connections there lol. First time I hear of braised onions on a gatsby🤔

Honestly South Africa has so many different types of food because of our wide variety of different cultures we have I can name many things that you can try. My personal favorite desert dish is a milktart. My favorite food would be braai vleis (Braai Meat). I absolutely love chakalaka. Here is a list of South African food you can try: 1. Boerewors. 2. Melkkos (Which you won't really find in restaurants) 3. Koeksisters. 4. Malva Pudding. 5. Bunny Chow. 6. Potjiekos. 7. Bobotie. 8. Biryani. 9. Vetkoek. 10. Sosaties. 11. Chakalaka.
