Malaysia is amazing!!! But in some way, I prefer most people don't know much about this beautiful country, because some kind of people tend to ruin things... like Thailand and other crowded places. Some people don't respect places and that's a shame. That's why I like Malaysia has some strict rules...

I didn't watch her on tik tok, but when i see her shorts on RU-vid, you'll know it. 😊 And personally, i thought, this is just my observation... When Malaysia get more tourist every year, and we heard from their perspective what they love and hate about Malaysia, it clicks in Malaysian minds that we have something beautiful that we take for granted before. We always compare ourself to other country but forgot to admire what we have. Observation from years ago. 😌

My friend is from France and his parents have been against him coming to Asia to work, citing Asia as a very dangerous place. I think the perception of Asia as a dangerous place was because of the history of Vietnam and the Korean War, the political instability of some countries such as Myanmar, and Asia generally as "poor" countries in the past. She is right. Malaysians should do better when it comes to punctuality. However I wonder why people have this view that we are very relaxed. I think we act that way because that is our personality but our schedule is very pack. I mean Malaysians are notorious for being overworked. I remember watching Rafizi Ramli interview and he said when he worked as an accountant in the UK at one of the big 4 audit firm people don't work overtime as much as accountants in Malaysia do. An Australian friend of mine who is a Doctor, when he heard that Malaysian doctors have to attend to 40-50 patients per day he was shocked. In Australia doctors only attend 8-10 patients per day. That's what he said anyway. Malaysians are overworjed, probably because we don't have enough professional/high skilled workers. There is however a lack of entrepreneurial spirit among Malaysians. That to me has to do with the level of economic development. Countries tend to become more emtrepreneurial once they become rich.

Penang is like 5% of Silicon Valley level and Cyberjaya is maybe like 1%. Lol. I am not exaggerating when I say that. Its common sense actually. When a country is developing it thinks about how to reach the next level which is to become developed. Once u are developed u want more than just a good quality of life. You want to be innovative and what not.
@invictustv1409
@invictustv1409 8 месяцев назад

Even Indonesia which is a poorer country on a per capita basis has unicorn companies such as Traveloka, Tokopedia and Gojek. Malaysia on the other hand has zero unicorn companies. Grab is a Singaporean company. Indonesia is more entrepreneurial than Malaysia despite being a poorer country on a per capita basis.

Lilith is cute... in term of punctuality, so far so good lah... I used to have many working meetings with private sector, bankers and government officers in 2019. I dun remember any meeting did not start in time. Let me share my experience: 1) Dealing with Federal Gov - After the May 2018, a lot changes in Malaysia. I was quite impressed with the level of professionalism in the Federal Government. Majority of the high level civil servants are well educated. I observe that, they are compatible with Singapore Government agencies / authorities. I can meet up with Malaysia Government director level without paying any lobby fee. In Singapore, it is very hard to get Gov agency director to reply your email... I think they afraid of make mistake.. :) 2) Dealing with district / local Gov - This is where you have to understand how they work... You have to deal with "runner" to get thing done, eg. applying business license.. The "runner" full time job is to help you to submit your application directly to the top officer office... this is how they make some money.. This is the culture.. You pay and your matter will be settled. 3) Private sectors -- Money making discussion... everybody will always punctual. That's FOR sure.

@@osirusj275 Good question... It really depands.. In Malaysia, if you want to setup a factory, you are required to obtained a few licenses, some are from federal Gov, and some from state Gov and some from district town council. In my understanding, if you are bring FDI to Malaysia, you can directly deal with Ministry office, and they will assist you directly. If you face some issue in dealing with state or district town council, you can seek the Ministry office help and they help to get a runner, or some time they call "agent". These agents will help you to "cut que" and sent your document to the Head office for stamping or whatever approval.. and even help you to waive some of the criteria. By then you pay some runner fee to the agent. Never pay any $$ or lobby fee to the Ministry officer.. it is considered bridebery.. Don't take the risk. In current Government, it is more transparent, with clear protocol. In term of personal's matter, I think there are formal MM2H licensee. They are able to advise details of process and charge a reasonable fee. This is similar to Singapore, as wealthy people setting up family offices in the island.

Malaysia here different. The 1st China come to Malacca in 1405 doing trade with India. Later near 1500 Portuguese came, then Dutch, then Spanish and late comer is British. U can see all the mentioned heritage building and fortified cannons in Malacca. Johor sold Singapore(Old name Tamasek) to British in 19th century. U can see the British fort in Singapore, Sentosa. Seem I doing history boring subject. 😂

You sound exactly like I feel since I have retired which was in 2019. Hi I am a 73 year old married guy that worked offshore on ships in 60 countries overseas for 48 years. I basically have nothing in common with Amercians that have never traveled. My wife which is from the Philippines and I plan on moving there this year. I only feel comfortable around other expats when it comes to conversations. I joined a ship once in Kota Bharu for 1 day near the Thai border but I remember nothing about the place as I was tired and jetlagged from the journey. I am anxious to visit Penang and sample all of the food which is nearly the same as in Singapore.

The same name that you see / tasted in Singapore is going to be very different in Penang. In Malaysia, we've got many versions of "laksa" -- just for an example. Prawn mee / hokkien mee in Penang is very diff from the one you have in Singapore. So don't be afraid to try everything, because they are different.

Yep Malaysia is the secret of Asia. Been here in Johor 9 years. Life is far better here in Malaysia! Peaceful, Secure, Low Cost. I give Malaysian Leaders High Marks. Malaysia has a bright future as the Malaysian Workforce Upskills and more Companies invest here. She is correct. Malaysia is unknown in the USA. Even Singapore is not well known to most Americans. Most Americans could not tell you where Singapore is. Borneo, Americans have heard of but most Americans could not tell you that Borneo consists of Two Malaysian Provinces, Brunei and 5 Indonesian Provinces. I have learned a lot about the region because my wife is Chinese Malaysian from Sarawak. Malaysia also has the best Shopping Malls, local food, Chinese Food and even our American favorites. If we only had COSTCO that would round out the list!

Th reason why videos like foreigners making videos about Malaysia in every factors is that, we just love people actually trying to get to know us. Because, we know how western people view us Asean people, in a negative way. This issue rooted in us since the colonial period, and until now. Like I don't really mind if people being ignorant, at least i can teach them. But if they are being cynical or stereotyping in bad way (i forgot the word), then it cant be help but to feel dejected about it.
