Sh. Mujib’s son had no children when they died. It was Mujib’s youngest son Russel who was 6 at the time. It may also be noted that Sk. Mujib grew in politics as a student in the 1940s. He was a student “leader/muscle man” in Muslim league and claimed to be the right hand man to Suhrawardy (the convenor of Direct Action in Calcutta at the time he was the Chief Minister of Bengal) in 1946. The Awami League was originally created as Awami Muslim League which way later dropped the word Muslim after the workers from the “left movement of earlier days” joined this group in opposition to Ayub Khan after his martial law.

Here are my two cents for this podcast. Some of the information delivered here by AIM especially about Awami being a Bengali is wrong. Awami League that we see is the metamorphosis of All Pakistan Awami Muslim League(est 1949). The reference goes back to the origin of Muslim league as it was founded funded and guided by a large section of Bengali Muslim who were from landlord families (upper class). They had almost null ground penetrations as we all know it. In order to hold positions in government and secure their descendants Local landlords, Zamindars, Royals all raced for power in the newfangled country called Pakistan, which was carved out both in East & West. People who voted for undivided Bengal were sidelined within Muslim League and one such example is Suhrawardy. An interesting observation is that both Awami ML and AIML (1949) were founded in Dhaka . And the word Awami was used deliberately to create a picture that the new All Pakistan Awami Muslim League is for commoners unlike AIML. Mujib was no saint since Direct Action Day as someone in a previous thread mentioned of him being the right hand man of Suhrawardy during and after the riots happened and Hindus were butchered. The party which started in 1906 with a sole purpose to dominate the public affairs in the name of religion only rebranded itself in the form of All Pakistan Awami Muslim League later rebranded again to accommodate some communists only to shake off the Muslim world in 1953 and after 1971 it became Awami League. In Bengali we say Pap Bap keo chare na. What Mujib had sowed in terms of hatred during riots under Suhrawardy,he reaped the same 1974 August, Dhanmandy.

One of the main reasons that Bangladesh is a separate country is because the Russians came to Indias assistance in 1971 ....otherwise Bangladesh would have been East Pakistan even today. The Americans have always kept this in their mind and even till today they support Pakistan in a minor way. Bangladesh is central to America as it is rumoured they want to build a military base in that country which Sheikh Hasina has refused. This base will enable America to keep a watch on all the 3 - India , China and Burma as well (Burma being influenced by China now-a-days). India will now have enemies on all the 3 sides - Pakistan on the West + China at the north + Bangladesh on the East (if Sheikh Hasina loses power). Our north east regions are also highly unstable (with multiple refugees) and may get worse with these geopolitical changes. Even Russia is interested in Bangladesh and has sent their naval warships at Bangladesh port recently and this just shows how important Bangladesh is (possible strategic military location). All the 3 super powers seem very eager to maintain contact with Bangladesh because of its physical location on the map and the Indian ocean. We have to always be on our guard and trust no one to help us in any eventuality. And yes, we will now have to spend a lot more on our military/border protection with the new possible threat of Bangladesh (may become an ally of Pakistan). Almost 70% Bangladeshi are redicalised in last 15-18 years. And masjid and Madresa are in full swing all over. Common urban Bangla youth hates india and prefer even Pakistan. Don't know how and why this happened. Only reason is redical minds took over. Bangladesh is gone case for india. Let USA squeeze them economically and ruin their textile business. Let there be a big unrest. Otherwise to reverse 70% Bangla mind in favour of India is impossible ❤❤❤❤
