No relevance to the placement, you notice before they kind of wander and then just take a place that feels 'right'. International Rugby is played by players from their own country, so all All Blacks players are New Zealanders. If you want to watch the most moving Haka I have ever seen I highly recommend the following. Watch with reverence and tissues to hand, it is the most beautifully moving tribute I have ever seen: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PdkC8hRoyj4.html RIP Jarom Hadley Nathaniel Rihari, 11.02.2000 - 29.06.2017

1905, "Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau" - (Land of my Fathers) became the first national anthem to be sung at the start of a sporting event. The Welsh national rugby team were playing host to the New Zealand team, who to that point were unbeaten. The New Zealand team started every match with the Haka, and Welsh Rugby Union suggested that Wales player Teddy Morgan lead the crowd in the singing of the anthem as a response. After Morgan began singing, the crowd joined in, and Wales became the first nation to sing a national anthem at the start of a sporting event.

Other countries do not “Let“ New Zealand perform the Hakka, quite the opposite really. A young guy like me growing up in the UK playing rugby, my dream was to be a player good enough to be in a team that would face the Hakka. I had a conversation with a friend once about what you would want to do before you died if you had a terminal illness. Top of the list is, and will always be, face up to a New Zealand Hakka

The Haka is done from Schoolboy level: I've been in stadia when the Haka has been done - but to really feel the power, nothing compares with being in a small rugby club in NZ, and have the teams perform the haka to ach other. The entire place stood up and delivered a full-throated Haka to one of their own. The walls were bending...

Tika Tonu is actually performed "towards" the groom. It is a father giving advice to his son on how to behave and act. The person receiving the haka is addressed as "my son" so it is not aimed at the bride. Incidentally, although Tika Tonu is most often performed at weddings it is also used whenever someone (male) is celebrating a life-milestone (marriage, adulthood, graduation etc). Regardless of what colour your skin is or what nationality you are, the New Zealanders are so respectful of their traditional landowners and the way they honour and respect the indigenous people to the land. You will find that in most schools they teach children of this history. The guys that you say look the same may also not be Maori, they may have a background of other Pacific Islands which may be Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Hawaii etc. Some Maori's also have a white complexion but would be mixed race, so the colour of the skin is not something to look at, as us Pacific Islanders know there is all shades from very light to dark.

The All Blacks have two hakas they perform. Ka Mate, as the video says was composed by Te Rauparaha in the 1800s. The second one is quite new, it was composed for the All Blacks and initially finished with a throat cutting gesture. the namby pamby australians complained. Te Rauparaha is not a universally loved figure form NZ history, as he attacked many tribes in his efforts to ensure his tribes survival. The video glosses over how he wrote Ka Mate. He was actually fleeing from some warriors who had a Tohunga with them (spiritual leader) who wanted to kill him. He hid in a food storage hole and a woman sat on the hole to hide him from his pursuers. Te Rauparaha chats "Ka mate"- 'will i die?' "Ka Ora"-'or will I die?' to undermine the incantations of the Tohunga. The final line acknowledges his salvation thanks to the life giving power of woman that hid him. There are many Kapa Haka groups that perform hakas in NZ. There are a different set of movements for female performers- less aggressive, but still a statement of intent to go into battle.

One of the typical moves in a Haka is for the males to stick their tongue out and bulge their eyes. It is both funny and scary to see, and the traditional meaning of the move is to say to the enemy “my mouth waters and I lick my lips for soon I will taste your flesh”.

A few years ago there was a team that turned its back on the all blacks as they did the haka. It can't remember which team it was but it cause quite a stir and were heavily critisized for such a show of disrespect.

In my non-western cultures class they talked about polynesian cultures and they briefly mentioned the haka a little bit, they said that back in the day if you were a worthy opponent on the battlefield they would eat you to consume your mana (spiritual power), and the tongue thing is them telling you they're gonna eat you and take your mana into themselves.

Haka formations are usually battle configurations. It highlights and consolidates the peoples resolve and unity. Ka Mate is about a man that lay down his life for his enemy. This epitomizes NZ.

You can find haka used in many situations - the first time I saw one it was being done to honour a teacher who died. It is a powerful ritual that is everything from a battle cry to a prayer.

The placement of players is usually the captain at the front and they just fall in behind...Recently they’ve used more of a V formation...I think the more senior members stand toward the front and the newer members fall in the back but I could be wrong on that

you can't trade players from intermational teams if you are born in a country (wales) and grow up there, you stay at that intrnational team bc its your nationality but if your born in a country (wales) and move to a different country (england) when you're like 5 and grow up there, you'll play for that national team (england) sorry if that dont make sense

The All Blacks vs USA game at Chicago's Soldier's Field in 2014 would show the gap between New Zealand & the USA in rugby. For more equal games at the international level; 6 Nations and the Rugby Championship are the peak. At the professional club level; Super Rugby, the Japanese Rugby competition, and the top European competitions are best. The USA now has it's own pro rugby competition as well, see USA Rugby website.

Yes there are many Haka's for many occasions. The words are different though, they are said in Maori. I lived in NZ for 4 years and would go back tomorrow such a beautiful country and friendly peoples living in harmony with the owners of the land. It's respectful.

Haka is from the Maori people of New Zealand (Aotearoa). The rugby team "All Blacks" is also from New Zealand which is also special to kiwis. It is the most successful sporting team in any sport in the history of sports. Yes, the team loses a game or two here and there but most of the time wins. This has been the case for over 100 years.

The tradition of the haka in New Zealand is almost as common and known to do thing as your pledge to the flag. It is a war dance that doesn’t mean we challenge you but that we recognise you and respect you in this battlefield of sport we are about to go forth on. It is very common to see groups in the stand performing a counter haka at local games to show respect to the effort the players put in.

I can’t remember what game it was but they tried to ban the Haka but the opposition went against this new rule and gave the All Black the respect to do it. Great Britain don’t have a team, every U.K. country has there own teams on the national level and you can only move teams at that level if your of dual nationality i.e. Scottish/Kiwi

There is not really any transfer of players. These are national teams that only form and play when there are national tournaments. The players normally play for regional teams across the world. i.e. some New Zealand players may play for a London team most of the time, and then play for their national team for one tournament every few years. The rules about who can play for a national team has been relaxed in recent years, but essentially you need some ancestry traditionally, or to have become a naturalised citizen.
