Heads up racers think bracket racing is easy they don’t know about breaking out and you know how cars make more HP and go faster at night bracket racers have to be able to manage that without breaking out which can be difficult that the hardest part of bracket racing when it’s 2am and your in the money and your cars making way more power than it was when it was 97 degrees earlier that day now at 2 am it’s 60 degrees with high humidity which makes race cars run like scalded piss and you gotta not break out to win it’s way tougher than heads up racing most really good heads up racers and the old funny car guys like Jon force, Jim Head, big daddy don garnets, Shirley cha cha muldowney etc... they were all bracket racers when they all started out bracket racing is the way you get good at the tree and controlling the power of the car in heads up you can just let it rip but in bracket you gotta figure where to let out or tap the breaks at 2 am to get the win so you don’t break out and you take home the 1st place purse I used to race 3-4 nights a week at 3 tracks in 3 different states had to quit inn1990, thinking about building an NHRA Top Sportsman’s truck if I can come up with the jack and find the right platform I wanna go 200+ with a 4 banger this time I know it can be done, the right Mitsubishi motor built right and supercharged would probably do it and I know how to build em mitsi’s make a lot of power if built right kinda like Toyota’s 2Jz
