A better comparison would have been with the Caldwell Rock BR. I own two of them. Paid $99 shipped each. They meet my requirements. I do own one of your rests that I use to test pistols. Had it for 40+ years.

The other one think is a Caldwell made in China, I have the Rock Jr. as it is the only one I could find They have the one you are showing then they also have the Rock BR Competition which is the one you should be comparing yours to as it is much closer, but not the quality of the one you are showing. Lets compare apples to apples please. Would love to get the one you are showing, but things are hard to get hear on the island. The Rock Jr sells for $65 and the Rock BR competition for $ 220 hear in Canada. Will be looking up the one you are showing after I finish watching your video the only thing I see I would worry about is the bar that is in front of the bag looks to close to the level of the bag where your rifle will be sitting. Thanks for the Video

The rod as you call it is the Competition Fore end stop. It is removable as well as adjustable. As far as comparing apples to apples there really is no comparison. Ours is the Original Rifle Master patented and invented by us. Before the other company even existed. Made in Amerca at American wage verses a country that pays there workers very little if at all and has no gun rights. Apples to apples Our rest is made by shooters for shooters. We sell and export all around the world so if you need one on your island we are here to help. Thank you for watching and your comment.

@@Ransomrest I know yours is far better. But looks like you are afraid to compare it one that dose the same adjustments, in stead you compare it to there middle one rather than there top of the line model. Sort of like comparing a Catalytic to a Pinto. If I was younger there would be no thoughts and get yours, but at 75 and on a pension having to give it some though. Is the quality worth the extra $500. When I can get the Calddwell Rock BR Competition one for $189.99 on sale or 221.99 regular price and yours is $689.99 Same as with the CV 457 compared to the Savage Mark II TR yes the CV is a lot better quality but the Savage TR shoots the same group size at 50 yards some times even doing better. Yes quality is great but if it dose not perform better is it worth paying three + time as much for it. May be if you did a comparison between two equals then I could see the true advantage of getting yours. A top of the line to a middle of the line, is not a true comparison.

@@hiltonmcconnell2563I don't understand why you are, can I say, heckling us. But you are mistaken. We have no problem comparing ours to any Rest period. You will see a vast difference in quality and craftsmanship. The FCSA Fifty Caliber Shooter Association for the best shot group at 1000 yards was done off our Rest. That clears it up right there. Do I need to say anymore? But if you need more. Last year, a guy called us and said he shot competition his whole life 100 to 300 yards, but once he got into the heavy gun and passed 600 yards, it seemed Ransom Rest dominated the benches. He expressed all top 3 placements for the world championship at 1000 yards, was running a Ransom Rest, and he had his butt handed to him again, he said. So he must get one. Then, he went on to yield the best group he ever had. He sent us photos of his trophy. That said to point out. You may see many rests, but if you get into a heavy gun over 30 cal. or long-range at or past 600 yards, you will undoubtedly see we dominate the championship benches. Even last year, the world champion won using a Ransom Rest. And the best shot group of the season and best group at 1000 yards FCSA was off a Ransom Rest. Is that enough to explain why most rests had copied or made similar rests to our patented design? Because our Rest was used for the best shot FCSA world record more years back than I can count at 1000 yards. That's a fair assessment of why so many have possibly copied or imitated our original design. As NRA said, Ransom Rest started an industry. That said, we don't have one of the ones you would like to compare to in-house. We are not afraid at all. Did you not say getting one on your island was tough? And you are watching your expenditures. So please don't assume just because we didn't use the one, you want us to mean we are worried about it. Sorry, That's a far cry or assumption, my friend, and it is quite the opposite. We didn't realize they offer a better one now. And there is no comparison to be made or needed. Neither will we spend or send our money to China for one of their rests to prove ours is better. Why, when we are the ones who invented this design before that import company was even thought of? To drive that point home. We know how that company started. We know who invented that company. We know who recently bought that company. In fact, for clarification, it was created by our dealer distributor to make an inexpensive, can I say, imported option. And we have no problem or otherwise to compare it for you, well other than we won't spend our money on one. The one in the video was part of a USPTO United States patent trademark office enframement case regarding our patented design way back in the day and was given to us. It was declared they all are more than 10% different; therefore, our USPTO patent is notwithstanding. You change it by more than 10% in weight, color, or plastic hand wheel and it becomes their design. That's why so many similar products are in the world today. We did not purchase this one. If that upsets you or is a deal breaker, we don't compare the one you want, but that's okay with us. Please get what you desire or what you want. Buy what you need or can afford. Whatever fits your needs, we understand. That company did very well by offering inexpensive options and imports. And if you think they shoot the same or are the same thing or just as good, go right ahead, find out. The weight alone bears witness to our design. I will not stop you. So that you know -only you will find out otherwise, my friend. It is all about what you need and your application. That is why cheap imports have done so well. Not even Craftsman survived China's cheap imports. As you already know, Shrader knives, old-timer knives, and Hoover vacuums are all imported. Even Crimson Trace is now China-made. Shoot, even GMC and Dodge are now owned by Chinese holding companies. Not even Colt is Owned by an American company anymore. Nothing really is made in America anymore and or owned by Americans anymore. Not even Liberty Safes are American-owned. Nothing I can say or do will stop that train for you. We are one of few that has survived the cheap labor China import storm. We will not compete with cheap Chinese labor. And I'm sure the other import company will answer the phone for you. I'm sure you can get support and tech help if they will even answer the phone; you can buy accessories, upgrades, and components from 22lr to 50 BMG if they answer the phone. I'm sure it will hold its value over time and can be passed on or resold. To drive that point home last year, we had a Ransom Rifle Master make it to the third generation of one family. They sent us photos. It was touching and humbling. The cost of our machine is based on Vibration dead American casted, American metal. American Machined and 100% American made. At an American wage. All in AZ, Not just Assembled here. Please get what you want. Don't heckle us or assume we are afraid to compare. There is a reason we are considered the industry standard by the Military, FBI, DOJ, and Homeland Security and have survived. We don't declare this. They do. And I'm sure If you try hard enough, the other company will answer the phone for you, and you can even find a live person to talk to for questions. Be blessed, have a good day, carry on, and use what works for you.

The Rock BR is 13 pounds, and the Ransom Rest is 24 pounds. The BR does not have a key for the Major and minor columns. The lock knob is what orientates them, and when you loosen the knob, columns rotate; they don't stay in line when adjusting elevation they wiggle. There is no elevation bearing. Screws are cheaper hardware items not machined. With slop in threads of the 3 level feet. The lock rings on feet are hardware items not machined The base is aluminum, not cast steel. Id is noted tight tolerance Locking knobs are plastic, not anodized machined aluminum. And the list goes on and on. Like tolerance between the columns and threaded handwheel is not ball screw acme thread. Lock nobs also have slop when loosened. Not made in America, maybe Taiwan or china. There is your comparison. Buy once, cry once.

@@mikec7076 Do not know where you are getting your info on the Caldwell Rock BR Competition, you better try again. The Cradle is supported by ball bearings. the base is made of Cast Iron, the leveling screws are stainless steel, and bough high adjustments are keyed and the threaded one is 7/8" - 6 ACME and they are stainless steel. Dose look like the adjustment knobs are plastic, but how much pressure are you going to put on them. Even the JR. one I have when tightened the threaded ked screw down it done not move. After the miss information about there rest, I am wondering what other miss information you are putting out.

Your rest is $600. I don't like your top plate. Imo the original Bald Eagle is a better rest.
@mikec7076
@mikec7076 6 месяцев назад
Bald eagle heavy-duty rest ships from midway is 9 pounds out of the box. The ransom is 24 pounds out of the box for the basic model i bought. The bald Eagle has plastic lock knobs and plastic elevation screw knobs, it has no Major column elevation, and the minor column is a standard thread with slop in the column it wiggles . No key to orientate the column. Column orintated by the lock knob When you loosen the plastic lock knob, the column wiggles and moves when you adjust the elevation up and down. It may be ok for 100 yards and a light gun or 22 LR, but it doesn't stand up to 30 cal and long range. Or even past 300 yards. Competition shooters need not buy. Vibration dead black sand in the Ransom bag is much more preferred then a light bag on the bald eagle. More like a fine pitching glove for your rifle.

I watched the whole video.. Apparently you aren't so confident about the price/value ratio, as you left price out.
@Ransomrest
@Ransomrest Год назад
Thank you for watching, but this was not about price it was about quality We are very confident about the quality. We do not have prices on our videos. This is all American made and machined. We cannot compete with inexpensive overseas labor; Sorry we do not pay $20 a day like some countries do. This is why American manufacturing is in the hole and most gun accessories are all made in non-gun friendly countries. If you want to send your money there, that is fine. Just comparing the quality original vs similar clones, copies or duplicates. Thank you for your feedback.

it is not a buy once cry once-- and for what you get I think his prices are low -cool thing is you can add bells to it later. and he will build you what you want - this is not a send me a pallet kinda product -so price will vary.

@@Ransomrest Thank you for your reply 👍. I'm on a fixed income and I'm really just looking for a rest that will allow me to sight-in a carbine and red-dot combination and a couple of pistols with red-dots, so the rest is only for occasional use, I'm just looking for "defensive accuracy" and occasional target shooting. Your products look like quality tools that will last a lifetime and as you said made in America. 👍👍

@@steven3379 We completely understand. And if you are not in bench rest shooting or competition shooting or at the range enough, this can very much be overkill. Thats the main reason companies started by offering inexpensive options or clones. But if you are interested in a inexpensive option for sighting in Rifles or handguns, you should check our Multi-Caliber Rest. It is great for testing as well as sighting in optics or sights. Works very well with a rear bag. The Multi-Cal Rest also fits in a 50 cal. ammo can for transport or storage. I Hope that information helps your research as you look for a valid option that may fit your need. Here is a video link and at end of this video you can see it in use. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-u7BLYQ9JTss.html
