He garnered fame literally overnight when American Pie came out. Idt he’s acting like a huge star at all, just telling it how it was/and somewhat how it still is, for him.

He was a regular supporting character on the Netflix show Orange is the New Black and is a lead on the Fox show Outmatched now. He is not an A-lister in the sense he has to wear hoodies and shades like DiCaprio every time he walks out in public without a security detail. He is more like Jonah Hill post-Superbad but before Hill jumped into A-list status appearing in Wolf of Wall Street and the Jump Street franchise. Hill is such a big star now he turned down being Penguin or Riddler (I am guessing he'd lose weight like Jump Street) in the new Batman franchise because he and his reps wanted $10M plus backend points as a salary which is more than double what Robert Pattinson is making (which I read is max $5M regardless how well the movie does) and he is playing Batman.
