In american psycho the sex scene actually shows parts of bateman's character (not like that stfu) But in other movies and TV sex scenes make no sense. If I'm watching breaking bad I don't wanna see a 30 second sex scene between 2 middle age people. It adds nothing
You left out an interesting tidbit about this scene, the reason it was cut wasn't because the sex was too graphic, it was because the women didn't look like they were enjoying it, which is arguably the point of the scene

Tiddies are fine. Just not full on sex in a movie. Like bed bouncing sfx while we are in another room is fine. But seeing full on fucking isn't allowed
They're convinced that when it comes to fire arms that they can solve the problem with more guns, a lot of them also take their values from cherry-picking lines out of a 3000 something yr old book that's been heavily edited and mistranslated over those years so they haven't really tended to have had their priorities streight fr a while.
@@aash8t17 so he does the deed, then when they're sleeping, one of the girls is under the sheet with Bateman, the other is not. Bateman then rips the under the sheet woman's throat out using his teeth, the other girl notices and tries to run away. Then the hallway scene starts.
They didn't exist back then. And you can still pirate this movie no matter what the rating is. If anything, they'd be more proud of how edgy the movie is.

FACT: This scene wasn’t rated so deeply because of the explicitness of the scene, more so of how the women looked like they weren’t enjoying the event.
This is true, if it got nc-17 it would've made almost no money, movies with this rating at the time would be extremely graphic, pushing the limits on what the public audience can see.
American Psycho is violent, but not gory. The movie's editing tricks your brain into thinking it's gorier than it actually is, just like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Lots of movie have to do that. House of 1000 corpses, Evil Dead 2013, Scream, Spiral, the Boondock saints, pulp fiction, Kill Bill, Sausage Party, Basic instinct, Godfather part 3, Casino, Law Abiding Citizen, Blue Valentine, and American Pie to name a few.

Graphic violence isn’t as bad as a rape scene. The scene was too extremely because the girls didn’t look like they were enjoying it. Rape is way more unsettling than someone being shot in a movie. Watch The Devil’s Rejects and tell me that the most disturbing part isn’t when Otis rapes a girl with a gun in front of her husband, I don’t know how that film was rated R.
American psycho isn't from age 18? Remember when I was young watching German tv, movies like that always had a warning before that it's for people over 18.
You know all three Lord of the Rings movies have a PG-13 rating which means they could get away with putting the f word in there somewhere, and it still be a PG-13 movie. Where do you think they should have put it. My vote is for they have a f****** cave troll.
Well it depends on what your comparing it too American Psycho compared to something like Teriffier 2 is nothing in terms of blood and gore but movies like that are kinda gratuitous in my opinion anyway Christian Bale said it best when he said the movie is more violent in tone than anything and it’s true take the scene where Bateman stabs a Homeless man there’s no blood in that scene but it’s still disturbing
Why are people acting like American Psycho is that graphic. There is like no real gore, just blood. Watch Terrifier 2, Evil Dead, or Cannibal Holocaust. That sex scene was too much because the girls didn’t like like they were enjoying it, making it feel very uncomfortable almost like a rape scene.
