What you have not seen is the Drum n Bass, aspect of Grime, which is not techno, but you could put a Techno x DnB set on a night festival, what ever , and it would work. Generally speaking up until the 00's Drum n Bass, and Jungle dominated the MC scene in the UK, so there is a crossover point with Electronic dance music and Rappers in the UK, just as a long standing roots of music kind of thing, grime was the first UK musical creation that was MC based in the same way Hip hop was, but it came out of Dancehall, DnB and Garage which all used MC's in a totally different way to Hip hop, its not about barz in those genres, its about speed and pacing. This is partly why grime is so fast, these kids were so used to spitting over fast DnB and Garage that when they created a Barz/content heavy MC genre it was a higher tempo than US hip hop US hip Hop has a lot of funk in it, which is where the pacing comes from, UK grime has Dance Hall, DnB and garage which is where the pacing comes from UK boom bap has been a thing since the 90's and some of its great but thats not our own as such thats us doing a US thing in a UK way. Dance here has an underground element that connect to street culture, not like in the US in the mid 90's all the gangs would have been slamming Jungle and DnB tunes in their cars Dont bother reacting to this but check the first 2 or 3 mins and you will have some understanding of what Drum N Bass/Jungle is. Its not Techno.....its important you understand its not Techno and its pre Garage
