the translations are always so literal that they never truly interpret what the artist is actually saying. You really need to know the lingo and understand the references to truly appreciate (aside from the amazing musicianship). Cuando quieras estoy disponible para traducir. I grew up on the border in EPT and I can tell you, his music really resonates. He’s got something to say just like Biggie and JayZ did back in the day. I think a big misunderstanding you got of this music and this difference between Mexican corridos and American rap, is that rappers are usually talking about themselves in the songs. In these corridos, they aren’t. 99% of them are usually about somebody else. Most of the time, its people paying them to make a song about them, mostly the cartel. Not bringing down the artists or the music, but these dudes have never moved any kind of drugs before.
