I've been to Euroleague Final Four a few times and happened to sit in Olympiakos (Greece) and Fenerbahce (Turkey) sector. The vibe of those fans is incomprehensible through the video. Whenever their team was playing I literally couldn't help but ask for the lyrics they were singing and join them. They do not chant, they SING throughout THE WHOLE GAME. Much love to european fans, you guys are absolute menaces on the arena.
Watching Americans get humbled is always entertaining. I don’t know what it is with the US and sports atmosphere but it’s so fake. Imagine walking into a stadium in Europe and it’s rocking, different kind of energy.
Greek girl here. First game, Aris Thessaloniki. Third game, Panathinaikos Athens. You don't wanna know what these fans say. The second game must be in Serbia. Balkans rule.
Second game is a euro league game red star Belgrade vs CsKa Moscow. I'm no basketball fan but been enough football games. Was working in Greece and in Piraeus on an olympiakos match day just before Greek/ orthodox Easter. Thank god I wasn't wearing my hometown clubs shirt on my day off
10:44 It's the lineup for Euro League in basketball, Red Star Belgrade against CSKA Moscow and the Euro League anthem is actually played but the crowd drown it out completely.
Greek over here: Just to explain a few things: First And 2nd European games in the video are Aris vs Paok. Local Greek Derby in Thessaloniki the 2nd biggest city in Greece. Similar Atmosphere it is On football at these games. 3rd game video is Red Star Beligrade vs Cska Moscow for Euroleague. (Cska got out from Euroleague due to War with Ukraine). Red star Beligrade is a well known Serbian Team for their hardcore fans first of all. Partizan the arch enemy of Red star has also really good atmosphere. Last but not least The last team on the video is Panathinaikos and that was at his Latest Euroleague win at 2011 Final vs Barcelona that the final was hosted at 2011 at his home stadium. Honorable Mentions of Good atmosphere teams (No Order): Zalgiris Kaunas from Lithuania Turkish Teams have really good Atmosphere like Galatasaray and Fenerbache (No order to these 2). Efes are slightly quieter. Virtus Bologna From Italy Olympiacos Bc arch enemy of Panathinaikos Partizan from Serbia . There is also an interesting new thing from Euroleague that they count Db on the arena during the game so you can see pretty loud fanbases that I forget to mention. (Euroleague is the biggest European Club Basketball tournament) I mentioned although teams who aren't on Euroleague because they have strong atmosphere in Football for example Galatasaray and Aris BC .

USA - everything revolves around money, Europe - PASSION AND LOVE for our club that we support always and everywhere, whether we win or lose. That's the main difference. in the USA it seems to be important just to appear in the stand, while in EUROPE coming to the stadium means giving your all, your voice and energy to support your club
In Europe we added sports to our battles. Added a few rules in to help deceide a victor. Then we deceided passion and decibels where the weapons of choise. And we went to war.
There are a few videos about american basketball players who are telling their stories how it was to play in Europe. Some stories are pretty funny but will you give more of an idea what sports in general means to us in Europe. Although Football is the number 1 sport but Basketball in certain areas is high up there.
There is a euroleague anthem and players are obligated to stand up,but,Red Star fans from Serbia refuses the song and while anthem is goin on,they try to silence it with their own song and they are doin pretty good job 10:30
Good Reaction and a nice, gentle introduction for you. Top European Sports are Number 1 : FOOTBALL(Soccer) Nuber 2 FOOTBALL Number 3 FOOTBALL.......You get the general idea and I am in my SEVENTH decade of attending in London. 😀
It clearly depends on which country in Europe you are from. In Finland, I am completely convinced that hockey is ahead of football. In Sweden, football is probably ahead of hockey as a good second.
You should check out what American players who's been playing in Europe thinks. «American Basketball Players Talking About European Basketball Atmosphere»
Why you sing the national anthem if both teams are from USA (unless you're playing the Raptors but that's a 1 in 32 chance. Raptors being only Canadian team can get away with oh canada
.. And to know 'Darude - Sandstorm' isn't even american.. (at 8:05 you almost sound like those cacatoes saying WHAT THE F*CK, WHAT THE F*CK! haha) Great vid buddy! big cheers
JP, whe I was 30 years younger I also played basketball. My 7 year younger brother saw that and he also started to love basketball. Now, we are hemopheliacs. And we both got the HIV virus (in 86) . Now it's the 90's. My brother is going backwards very fast. 'Make a wish' is here. His dream was to meet Magic Johnson. I think my brother is about 11/12 years of age. He met him. The magic man! :) I stood in front of him, he is huge, hehe Anyways, a few years later, my brother got to go to the U.S. (with the a national TV channel) and he got to meet Kobe Bryant. :) Having said that, he almost died 3 times, but he was/is a fighter. He got through and is now a proud father of his own daughter, my friend. :)
Begining to think that most of viewers of those "react to european fans" are actually europeans in a little sin of pride, mixed with a thin of guilted superiority feeling 🤭 Once I discover this concept, got to admit i'm sometimes one of these when i'm watching the fifth type of video in a row 😅
That's a fire flair man. You have to see this live. When you'll come to Greece you have to go and see at least one game of football or basketball. That's a whole different atmosphere from what you know. Believe me you'll be surprised.
mwoah Germany/france/netherlands all have insane crowds as well. Especially Germany. In Netherlands we have an insane amount of hooligans. You don't usually see them at matches but usually outside tearing up the place.
@@pennybleta9721 yeah, he was born and lived next to the stadium. Baby photos of him in there and all 😂. His father (and then him) are Celtics fans now because of the clover 🤣🤣🤣
@@ΤάσοςΚαυσοκαλυβίτης He was happy as a Clam. I had a female clam once. She wasn't happy at all.. The moral of the story is that not all clams are happy. South East London:England
The 1st European vidéo is before the Salonique "derby" (Greece) when the Aris fans welcome the ennemies of Paok The toughest basket ball fans in Europe are in Serbia, Turkey and Greece
The ''greens'' were Panathinaikos they are the greatest basketball club in Europe with many legends one of them was Dominique Wilkins also have the greatest fans and the most scary ( for the others obv).
Yea, in America they do kiss cams and 6 people in suits doing a dance. Of course the anthem and cheerleaders etc (and I totally respect that). In Europe, I would not be confortable to bring my son in the stadium. As crazy as "soccer" fans but in a closed arena. Just the fires hehe :). But the chants can seem agressive or racist etc... when you look at the lirics, it is actually funny most of the time or just showing their dedication to the club
8:15 *sees one Flare* OMG That is crazy, what is that?" *Me, an old faithful of Sektion 12, the hooligan section for FCK* "Oh, you sweet, adorable summer child"
@@MartinAndersenDane agreed. it's always the same reaction "HOW CAN THEY GET AWAY WITH THAT?!??" Easy. The police knows that if they intervene before we get out of control, the riots that follow will be legendary epics that will make young people yearn for the same kind of action
I'm an Italian that now live in US. I'm been a fan (ultras) for long time when I was backl in my hometown in Europe. I experienced now the American fans. American fans has the mentality to go to seat down quiet, relax, enjoy the match with a soda in one hand and the hotdog in the other one, seated next to a rival fan... In Europe is religion, is a way of life, is Honor. We do not go to watch the game (also because sometimes is impossible with all the smoke from the Bengala (smoke bombs) fireworks and general fires hahaha), we go to play the game. We go to war. We go to defend our city from the invaders. We are the 6th player in the basket or the 12th player in the football. American fans get (you guys say lit for for us you are likely cold), when the music in the speakers is great, instead we are the music. Every single team has several songs composed by the fan group which then we sing before, during and after the match. I think that the huge difference come from the History. You guys are young's, really young's. Over there we have thousands of years of History and wars. Europe had tons of wars in the centuries. For us ours team ours colors are inside our blood. Comparing USA fans vs European fans, our best part is that, this passion make us so loud, aggressive and intimidating. Your best part is that you can go to the Stadium/Arena and enjoy the match also with kids and families. In Europe going to the Stadium could means ends up to the Emergency room or even in the morgue in some cases when plays an important match like the 2 rival teams or the 2 team that play for the same city. In some cases we do not take kids to watch a match. We are too much. Die for a sport match is not really smart right...
0:55 It doesn't matter if it is a play off game or not what do you think what goes on at football games in Europe that are mid season and are totally meaningless games? No matter how insignificant games are or how important they are, the atmosphere in football stadiums in Europe is always at the same level,
In Europe the Fans are family part of the Club, we dont have franchises we have Teams which are based to the City. So genereations of Fans go to the Stadiums. They write Songs, the Ultra´s make Choreographies for every Game. In Europe sports wont work like the Franchise type in the NFL no one will watch them when they change the city.
in regards with the anthem question: Those chants you hear contain specific lyrics written by fans. Most of the chants are writen decades ago, and are passed down from generation to generation. Each team's ultras (at least in my country, Greece) has lots of chants (sometimes even 60-70 different chants, as they constantly develop new ones every now and then) and the lyrics are usually based on fun or wild, hooligan events (and communicate that X fans are way Better than Y funs etc). Other chants contain lyrics that express a nostalgic romantic love for the team and the city. Every team has one official anthem in the form of pop of folk song, usually written, performed and recorded by an artist many many decades ago (my team's anthem was recorded back in 1980, while the first ever anthem in 1930. We usually sing parts of this anthem in the form of chant (maybe the chorus not the entire song). I hope I've helped you, and I hope my english are at least undestandable. *not every single chant is performed on every match, and not every single chant is always popular during the year. Most of the times the popular chants are about 10 and the Ultras organisers decide which chants will be performed (at least most of the times).
In the second European game they played in Belgrade. The players were standing there, because the hymn of the Euroleague was playing, but there's no way you can hear it. 😂
The third game (the team in white and red) are red star Belgrade from Serbia playing CSKA Moscow in the Euro league. There's supposed to be the Euro league anthem playing but the fans are chanting over it so loud that they've completely drawn out the music playing in the arena.
Bro, go ahead with a reaction to “Best Ultras Video | World Fans Compilation”. I guarantee the video is worth it, viewers will love it💥 It is from the RU-vid channel called “Fans sector”. Greetings and keep it up!
In the NBA the standard of Basketball is higher (despite that arguably at least three of the top 5 current NBA players being European), however the European fans (especially in Serbia, Greece & Turkey), win hands down. To be clear the fans are at full volume sometimes hours before the start of the game, & some will burn more calories than the players.
The National Anthem SHOULD ONLY BE SUNG WHEN THE NATIONAL TEAM IS PLAYING. As for Jessica Luis singing The National Anthem and GETTING PAID for a few words, wake up USA
you can check out the "former nba players tell storys when they played in euroleague afterwards" youtube video. kinda sets things into perspective from real pros!
European fans basicly fans of football Top basketball club mostly own by football club That's why that the fans can't differentiate supporting football and basketball
Minute 10:43 - We don't chant anthem during local matches, it's the team chant. We use anthem only when the national team fight another national team (like Italy vs France), not when a town team fight another town team (Like Rome vs Paris) US is the only democratic country in the world that chant the anthem every time, even during child matches. Only US and some dictatorship countries.
You are right, why should Europeans be louder than americans? Think! Where does americans come from? Thinking; Oooh yeah, from Europe. What is youre history before 1700? Except from the indians. That came from India. In the beginning, there was no americans. F.ex. Denmarks has a history from beyond. In 700 there was vikings. That is 1,000 year before. Columbus was not the first in America. The vikings were. Look under sea outside New York. Ships from the vikings is resting there.
Most of european clips were regular season in national league The last 2 games were Euroleague regular season. On the 3rd clip there are Red Star Belgrade fans singing We Are Red Star so loud in order to cover the Europe anthem which was played on stadium speakers (you can here it in background if you listen carefully). They did that because they hate Euroleague Management. In the first two clips are Aris Thessaloniki fans which always are like that 2 hours before the game, during the entire game and maybe 3 hours after if Aris wins.
GAME DAY : Americans go to cheer and have fun GAME DAY : Europians we go to war!! siple as that and 1 more thing all these videos (from Europe) are Serbian, Greek fans soo don't go 2 Italian, Spanih or German baskeball game .. come to Balkans/Serbia/Belgrade and meet the real fans ehehehe no diss.2 any other fans .. peace
well european way of experiencing a sport match is just on a completely different level as in America. Europe is on top of the EiffelTower and american somewhere on the bottom of the ocean. Difference is HUGE
