Belarus got banned from Eurovision after being disqualified in 2021, however they will be able to join Junior Eurovision 2024 and be back in Eurovision by 2025. (Probably)
Galasy ZMesta were disqualified bc their song was very political and very pro-Lukashenko (Belarus' dictator). They then submitted a second song but the European Broadcasting Union also disqualified that, and thus Belarus were DQed from the contest altogether. Their member broadcaster was then later kicked out of the EBU after an investigation concluded that it was being used as a pro-Lukashenko propaganda machine during and after the Belarusian protests in 2020. Belarus are suspended from the EBU (and thus Eurovision) until at least 2024
Just aside from how their 2021 entry was basically a propaganda love song to Lukashenko and Putin, it's just very bad and not kind on the ears lmaooo. If they ever come back (I think their suspension will be lifted in a couple years?? and hopefully with a less icky broadcaster) I hope they show out because I do think they have potential when they really try. Also Like It by ZENA deserved WAY higher than 24th (tho I think 2019 was very competitive)
actually there are no other broadcasters other than propaganda TVR cause they were what? banned and expelled long before 2020 so i hope they will never let Belarus compete
