The uk Christmas adverts tend to go with the magic of Christmas, feel good vibes. I don't think you really get that, far too analytical for the magic 😂

He wasn't lonely, he...well, you saw the payoff at the end of the ad....or maybe not! He didn't get her the wrapping paper, he got her the hat, gloves and scarf! The kid doesn't have ADHD! He's just excited and impatient. It's not a skunk, it's a badger. No, the hare (not a bunny!) bought the bear an alarm clock so he could wake up in time for christmas. Mog is actually a character from a series of children's books. She's a she, by the way. Oh and you're completely wrong about cats! They only respond to the vibe you give them. And no, the kid isn't dreaming of making bombs. It's a chemistry set, a pretty standard educational toy in most of the world. Plus you can make stink bombs with it! Last time I looked Babe Ruth didn't play cricket!

Mog didn't start a fire. The turkey that had accidentally been left cooking overnight caught fire and, had it been left, would have started a house fire. Fortunately, Mog discovered it before this could happen and unintentionally called the fire brigade who were able to extinguish the turkey. The only real damage was the blanket of soot over everything. Mog saved the day and then the neighbours saved Christmas.

Mog features in a series of children's books written by Judith Kerr and she is actually in the sainsburys advert. She is the elderly lady in the brown tweed coat standing outside the house with the neighbours

All I (a cat person) will say about the cat comment is, have you heard of people being killed by domestic cats? What about pet dogs? I don't hate dogs for that but it just shows dogs are more dangerous than cats. Also, from my experience, cats only scratch if you upset them.

Turkey is the traditional food in UK at Christmas Ham is usually served boiled and either in sandwiches or with salad. Police and Fire service are 'free' but unlike NHS not paid from National taxes but from a local levy called a Community Charge administered by local councils

The clock isn't a metaphor for the time spent in hibernation. It's an alarm clock, to wake the bear up, so it doesn't sleep through Christmas and miss everything.

This is an interesting look into maybe why Christmas adverts aren’t like this in the US. UK adverts tend to be a lot better and cinematic anyway, but you tended to miss the point of these (e.g. it was an alarm clock to wake the bear up, the snowman gave the gloves as a gift, Mog didn’t burn the house down but covered everything with smoke and it wasn’t his fault really). Nothing against you at all! Just an interesting difference :)

The way you say Sainsbury's just gets me every time lol. It's said like Sane (as in I'm going insane mentally sane) so So the word sane and burys (bury as in burried in the ground). Sainsbury's- Sane's-bury.

Hi, the mog ad was sooo popular 😂 Sainsbury’s sold a mog teddy bear and it sold out in a day. People went mad for it and were selling it for hundreds even thousands of pounds 🤣

Reminded me of the 1978 British animated film about rabbits called "Watership Down" Which was a big thing at the time, and definitely not a Disney film. It was based on a children's book that many thought was not really suitable for children. Later on they made 2 animated TV series based on the book as well.

I am a cat person, but I love dogs as well. Different cat’s have very different personalities. Cats are also more likely to be left behind by their owners and no one should take in an animal just to leave them for dead. Also when you act like that about turkey against ham for Christmas it would be fun to see what you think about traditional Norwegian Christmas food. 😅😂

Cat person till the day I die. Love cats. Plus I deal with personal liability claims and I have seen enough serious injuries caused by dogs to last a life time. A cat can hurt you, but they will never ever cause the extent of injuries a dog can. Even non aggressive dogs who acted out of fear or reaction more than anything else can cause such bad injuries to people without necessarily meaning to. Dogs are great, but I'm happier that they belong to other people, while my cat is curled up next to me at the moment peaceful as anything.

Turkey is the most traditional meal for Christmas in the UK (although there are other sort of common ones like goose), but many British households have both turkey and ham. My parents have ham on Christmas Eve and turkey on Christmas Day (and leftovers of both for days after) but many people have both on Christmas Day.

I like both cats and dogs, I know that's not popular with either "side" but I like animals in general and don't like to pick. I foster cats because that works better for my apartment (I don't feel safe taking a dog out in the middle of the night if it's nervous in a new home) but I'd happily have dogs too/instead. Maybe it's because I grew up with both.

I used to hate cats, I was so scared of them as my great nan had an evil cat who would actively go out of her way to attack you… but I got 2 kitties back in 2014 and they’re the sweetest cats. They literally don’t even kill spiders or flys which is so annoying. But they just want to nap and have cuddles. My little kittie Coco has a heart defect so he won’t live as long as his sister will but he is the sweetest soul, actually don’t think I’ll get another cat like him.

For Bear and the Hare, don't question the weirdness of British weather. It does what it does.

Cats are great and will only hurt you if they feel threatened by you. There are dogs who have caused way more injuries than cats ever have. There are dogs that are very aggressive and will bite you hard. Not saying they all do that but some breeds do if they’re not trained right. The worst a cat does is scratch you. And that’s only if they are scared by you. And most of them aren’t evil at all and are loving creatures. I guess you haven’t had a good experience with them because they know that you don’t like them. 🤷🏼‍♀️
