A NZer and ABs supporter but always admired Bryan Habana, it's great when we see someone "bring it" to the All Blacks. It's sport after all. And loved more, that he famously raced that cheetah to bring attention to the plight of such a magnificent animal. Bryan Habana Ressspect!! ⬛⬜🟨🟩
he almost single handedly beat the all blacks playing for the barbarians in 2009 in 2009 he beat the ab with the barbarians beat the chiefs by 60 pts in the final winning the super rugby title and won a 3 test match series against the all blacks aswell oh and won the british and irish lions series all in one year
@@QSNgg thanks brother, your the best, your channel will blow up 😂 like for real. And your analysis are the best out of all the other Americans. Keep going. Rugby World Cup 2031, USA and we 🇿🇦 wanna go in as the defending champions but first Australia 2027. Take care!
The Barbarians are an invitational team - they’ve got an invitational coach and squad picked by a selection committee who tend to choose players for their contribution to rugby and their conduct on and off the pitch. They also have a tradition of selecting 1 internationally uncapped player in every squad so they get an amazing experience playing alongside some top level talents! They tend to play really free rugby and go for crazy set plays etc - they usually drink through the week and go out and then put it all together on the Saturday and surprise teams!
Thanks for letting me know how the Barbarians select their players Rhys! That's really cool to bring an all-star team together and watch them perform I would love to see them live!
Thank you for this. Its so great to see requests in the comments and then you actually respond. Amazing channel. Thank you for being so interactive with the comment section.
Loving the reactions from someone who knows his sport and has played at a high level. Funny you mentioned Tyreek as Habana actually raced a cheetah 😂😂😂
Thanks so much Ray. I appreciate you and the kind word. It means a lot hahah yeah that was completely random about the Cheetah! I'm glad it worked out 🤣
Not many fans know he played most if his junior and school rugby as a scrumhalf before being moved to centre at under 20 level then finally to wing once he left junior level rugby.
It sounds crazy to say, but he was actually faster than he looked. His 40 Yard time was 4.22. His 100m was 10.4. These are definitely comparable to Tyreek hill and similar players. Habana was probably the 2nd or 3rd fastest player in recent years. It seems Grant Williams a new upcoming player may take the top spot.
Love the reaction videos dude. You should have a look at Dan Carter (All Blacks flyhalf). He is without a doubt the best flyhalf there has been. Absolute magic what he could do on a rugby field.
Love the comparisons your making to American football. As a South African getting somewhat into AF its nice to see your analysis on a player like Habana. Absolute speedster with the technicals to match. Would love to see you do reactions to RWC tries. Since we won it back to back. UpTheBoks🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🏆
@QSNgg I actually need to catch the new one as well. Sometime. Tough finding time to just relax and watch it. I'm looking forward to the new rugby season to see what the squad looks like and how we perform over the coming months. Keep up the great content man🫡🙌
7:00 he scored that try in the final minute in the Super 14 final game. Bulls fans went ape#$%^. After that we said the only person that can put a champagne cork back in it's bottle is a Sharks supporter (the opposite team). It was insane like in the last play in football they throw a hail mary pass and end up scoring the winning touchdown in the final game.
It's kind of funny that you should mention a cheetah. There is video out there of Brian racing one. (Drat, they showed a bit of it.) How do you get selected by the Barbarians? You have to be good at rugby and be available. That's about it. Remember, it's only a one week commitment. Next match they will have someone else at your position..
@@QSNgg Hi Q, in the 90's we use to see the best of the Southern Hemisphere taking on the best of the Northern Hemisphere...EPIC rugby. One guy that stood out was DG, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kANuZNR6gPQ.html
Brian Habana had a nose for that try-line, he really made people sit up and take notice in his debut season. In his prime he was probably the quickest man in the game. If you enjoy speed then you should check out Carlin Isles and Perry Baker, arguably two of the fastest players in rugby today and they both play for the USA 7's team.
Thanks so much. I really appreciate you and your kind words. That means the world to me and I’m glad that it was helpful. I hope you’re doing well and looking forward to talking more
Springboks are the greatest rugby nation. Won the most world cups and we didn’t participate in the World Cup till the 1995 when we won it on our 1st try. Springbok record is that we win every 2nd WC. We’ve won 4 and played in 8. New Zealand played in 10 won 3. 30% win rate. 50% win rate for springboks. New Zealand looking pretty in 2nd greatest rugby nation
@@Christian_1980 im south african, went to school with cheslin as well. Dont be stupid please bro. Everyone of those Springbok wings including every other player and pundit will say Jonu is the goat. He always been the goat. Please dont put Cheslin in the same caliber as Lomu lol.
will you make a video with your prediction for the USA matches, first you have two matches with guests from Europe (Romania and Scotland), and then the new format of the Pacific Cup starts, there I think you will finish second, at least that's what I think for now, in the group below Japan finishing maybe fourth losing the bronze final to Samoa but before the tournament I may change some guesses but for now at least I see Japan and Fiji in the final.
Thanks for the suggestion on this I love your idea. I'm definitely going to cover US matched and give my predictions on their upcoming matches I'm interested to see how it all plays out. Going to be an excited summer and fall of rugby!
"big up top" ... a bit yeah, but he always wore body padding, so he looks a bit bigger than what he actually is ;) ... though he does have a good build
If you want to see a proper Bryan Habana tribute then watch this video. Too long to react to unless you break it down into many parts but its shows you all and everything about Habana. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zQQRzCcJa_Y.html
Thanks for linking me to this one Mikael! I was going to watch this one on this video but saw the length. I'm for sure watching this in my free time 🙌🏽
@@QSNgg The way Pierre Spies would run was to bring his knees up very high. Tackling him low as you should, made it hurt a lot (catching a knee to the face)
fun fact: Habana once was able to catch 200/200 rugby balls that was thrown against a wall at 2-3 meter distance from the wall (If you know anything about a rugby ball the bounce is never certain). His speed and situational awareness made him one of the best to ever do it, but what made him special was his absolute mastery of ball handling
That's an insane fun fact! Thanks for letting me know that Nicky! The skill and mastery it takes to catch 200/200 is unreal! So much focus and discipline
Such a short time being exposed to the sport and you already know that players who play for the barbarians wear their club rugby socks.Impressive.Please try to watch the series "Chasing the Sun" about the Springboks 2019 Rugby World Cup journey,"Chasing the sun 2" about the 2023 Rugby World Cup just played the final episode this Sunday past.
Thanks so much for your kind words Jannie. I appreciate you 🙌🏽 I'm in the process of watching Chasing the Sun 1 & 2 now! I'll make a review of each episode as I finish it
Habana was a great winger no doubt. Great player mmmm no. Habana could only ever play one position - not able to play any other. A great finisher but if you want the greatest finisher of all time there is only one player his name in Rory Underwood scored more International tries per amount of passes by far than any other player easily - THE WORLDS GREATEST FINISHER RORY UNDERWOOD
Slightly off topic, habana wearing strapping on shoulders, he didn’t beat the cheater as he had a head start, he did 100m in 10 sec, great player but being a Welshman don’t forget LRZ only played professional rugby for 5 years, habana had a full career in professional rugby, LRZ would have accomplished much more if he remained in rugby and also ran a 10.11 in 100m, habana shorter and lighter than LRZ, believe me you will be shocked in the nfl for LRZ and I’m willing to bet on it if you like that he will make the 53 and do great. LRZ has always wanted nfl from a young age from his dad but ipp not available so don’t think he is a total beginner to nfl as his dad has guided him being a previous uk nfl player and always wanted that for LRZ. LRZ pretty much from 18 with Gloucester rugby gave try on try every game and I used to 80,000 crowds as the principality stadium for wales so isn’t fazed, and just a fyi habanas club was Toulon in France, pronounced too lon and habana had a head start against the cheetah 😊
As a winger myself I was often the guy turning back to chase an interception and one thing I’d always do is note who intercepted the ball - was it a forward or a speedster. I can imagine the feeling of helplessness upon seeing it was habana who had picked off the pass 😂😂
I would recommend watching Damian de Allende. I’ve never seen anyone get make so many metres with the ball. Also Peter Steph du toit - one of the best tacklers I’ve seen and Duane vermulen who recently retired
You are right with the inside hip defense strat. We hse the inside shoulder on defense, keeps you lined up with attacker, can react quickly, puts u on the "safe" side of a tackle (puts yoir head on an open side not cramped up)
That makes a lot of sense Sebastian. I appreciate you incredible insight from your experience and expertise in rugby. I love hearing that you're taught the inside shoulder. I'm loving learning about how you play the game and what's taught in rugby Super helpful 🙌🏽
@@QSNgg has to be Danie Gerber, also Pierre Spies, and my own position, loosehead prop Os Du Rand, the greatest prop of all time, a giant of a man who could catch backline players.
