This performance was done at the end of summer 2020, months after the pandemic began. That's why RM said it was the roughest summer ever. BTS had just released a new album and had a world tour planned for summer 2020 and everything was cancelled due to the pandemic. So it was tough time for them and their fans. You haven't seen what BTS can really do as rappers yet. You should definitely read the lyrics for the song, they are beautiful.
This song has a deeper meaning - there was a ferry that went down Korea, children died and there was a lot of corruption in politics to cover up the mistakes. They make a lot of references in this. If you watch the mv or read the story it will break your heart. They are speaking out for all the people who lost their loved ones. Just look up the story about this song. Everything in the mv has a meaning... dual.
Suga and RM were underground rappers before debut. Both of them wrote and produced songs since childhood. RM was a known underground rapper in S.Korea at just 15 year old. Jhope learnt rapping from these two trained rappers , now Jhope is also one of the greatest rappers. Each rappers have unique style of rapping. Also BTS has the best rapline in kpop. Spring Day is the queen of BTS songs. Many armys refer to a past tragic accident in S.Korea(it can have different interpretations). It still charts high on Melon Charts after so many years. Its like an anthem for true BTS fans and many S.Korean citizens who understand BTS lyrics( I know everyone may not relate to BTS)
The song was recorded three years after the Sewol tragedy. Many Koreans relate this song to it because it is a song about lose and longing. The artwork on the cover and music video also alludes to it. After Spring Day was recorded BTS and Big Hit donated $85k to the Sewol family fund. It was a big move because the government at that time had a blacklist going of celebrities who donated money to it
A great live vocal you might like is "Your eyes tell", a japanese song composed by the youngest member Jungkook If you wanna see the 3 rappers perform live, I suggest "Outro:Tear" at wembley The reactions good! I think most ARMY prefer you pause and replay so you catch everything :)
Yes! I used to get frustrated by pauses, but since I know the music so well now it’s nice when reactors pause and comment rather than talk over the music. Also, rewinds are great! We all have favorite parts and it’s good to go back to see something you particularly like.
People need to realise BTS is more than a typical western band like Beatles(no hate , they are legends) , 1D. BTS conveys emotions through their lyrics , vocals , rap , expressions, even choreography. Their personalities are unmatched
This performance was filmed in Summer. The pandemic chaos was at its worst in most countries around the World. The song "Spring Day" is a song about being separated and missing your best friend/loved ones (which during the lock down, many people were separated from their loved ones for weeks/months) and to not lose hope because you will meet again. That's what RM meant. Note: South Korea also experiences 4 seasons.

I love listening to new yt reactors because of how most of them gets whammied by Jimin's voice and i relate to those first moments so much 😭 their reactions are just so me the first time i heard his voice. Jimin's voice just really hits different.

It's only about 15 Minutes long but their doing a musically time travel going from their first to their last album and play snippets of each album. The perfomance is so good and you will get to hear the rapline too.
BTS is an amazing group of singers. The melodies, harmonies, and the voices of each of them are like miracles! JIN and JIMIN's high notes and JK's singing technique are amazing. And in case you didn't know, V has a wide vocal range! He has a deep voice from high notes. Also, BTS's rapping is world class.

Please check out the explanation/theory videos for Spring Day (or any of their videos for that matter) even if it's off camera. Spring Day is very important to all ARMY'S. We don't mind the pausing. It's your channel you do what you want. Take however long you want Army will stay for a whole hour watching a reaction video as long as they know it's genuine. My only recommendation and you seem to do it already anyway is to go back about 10 seconds after a pause so you don't miss anything important. Thanks again!💜

about the rapping, BTS actually started in 2013 as a hip hop based group, with 3 rappers and 4 vocalists if you go back to their first 2 years, they did hip hop, rnb music they now have explored many genres and have since blended their many tastes in music, including classical, edm, rock, pop, funk, soul, gospel etc. but yea, they have never dropped their hip hop roots and I would say this genre have the largest percentage out of the rest of their songs

It's more meaningful than you think. It's usually that way with BTS. Their Korean songs are very deep and always have a deeper meaning and their mvs have a lot of symbolism. The guy in denim is Namjoon, stage name RM. He is the leader of the group and a genius. Has an IQ of 148. He writes a lot of the songs for the group and the rest of the members do as well. RM is very poetic, lyrical, philosophical and a lot of times writes songs based on that, on books he reads, etc. They also produce most of their music. They are all very talented. They sing, rap, dance live and all have solo music as well that they mostly write amd compose, produce themselves as well.😊
6:05 Yeah that is exactly why they have so many fans. Subtitles are always there to exlpain what they are saying (and they usually have beautiful lyrics), but the music transcends language and there's so much to enojy even with the "language barrier". They have catchy tunes, amazing music videos and live performances and from what we can see they appear to be genuine and more humble/grounded than other artists out there, despite their success. The personality traits we see and the fact that they always attribute their success back to their fans just endears them more in the eyes of the fans.

You asked about a "deeper" song. Try Black Swan MV with lyrics talking about losing your passion for your art and UGH live for an example of the three rappers talking about the useless anger online and how it wastes the "good" anger that can be used to address problems in society.

Of course, check out the MV too - and the explanation (of the MV) that people are referring to is the one by Italian Army (2021 version) - the most detailed and heart-wrenching one. This song is a prime example of how deep BTS can go and how much they care - it’s because the MV seems to honor the (mostly student) victims (of a national disaster) that this song has remained on the Korean charts consecutively since it was released in 2017, a way for the youth of that time, and now young adults, to honor the memory of their friends and classmates (even though they’ve been told by adults to forget it all and move on). Just a note: as far as most of us know, the song is about loss in general (not written about the tragedy specifically, or only about the tragedy), but the MV certainly seems to be a tribute to the disaster, if subliminally. BTS hasn’t confirmed it outright (risk of government blacklisting at the time).

You MUST react to a “rap song” of them, they have a lot of songs whit different styles. One song of them “Mic drop” is more hip hop. Other songs, rap songs are: UGH!, Outro: Tear , We Are Bulletproof Pt.2 that are just some examples. The first and second one are just rapping from: RM, Suga and J-hope, they are the “rap line”. The last one is singing/rapping from all 7 members.
