Comic Relief is a telethon and they had rotating hosts for about an hour at a time, so they were doing one section with various video segments in between them filling.

Last years Comic Relief raised about £35 million, during a cost of living crisis! Amazing stuff!🎉 The presenters ‘present’ sections throughout the night. It starts at 7pm and ends around midnight, so they have a rota of guest presenters.

Less than usual because Lenny Henry said we don't need white saviours. David Lammy also complained about white people raising money for africans. So many of us have decided to no longer donate.

It's amazing when you think that numerous people in the country could give that money without even noticing a dent in their account yet it's on the population as a whole to help those charities

You should do what I do every Christmas. It's my Wife's and I's tradition, that every Christmas, we sit down with a pint of Guinness, a half of Bushmills whiskey and a glass of Baileys and we sit down and watch the Fr.Ted Christmas special.

As a child growing up in Ireland in the 90s. Father Ted was hilarious. Still my favourite episode is When Ted tries to use bolt cutters and a helmet to cut jacks nails .

Comic relief's aim is not so much to provide food to needy people but to provide the facilities for people to help themselves, eg the clean water, decent homes and access to schooling

Everyone going on about Shooting Stars in chat. Some of us are old enough to remember Vic & Bob hitting each other with frying pans even earlier than that :p And I'm only 39. Not sure if you've had the chance to react to the "Small, Far Away" Father Ted documentary but I'm sure you'd find it fun/very moving.

Comic Relief is held every year and has raised since it was started in 1985 £1.65 billion for causes to alleviate poverty, access to safe homes, good nutrition & learning opportunities. The money is spent in different parts of the world and the UK.

Comic Relief takes over a whole evening of BBC tv, different people host different sections. all sorts of stars appear in skits or whatever. Through the course of an evening various films are shown to illustrate how the money is spent and up to £40,000,000 has been pledged in one evening.

Comic relief (live / band aid is another) has been a regular yearly charity show in the uk for years. It raises millions for good causes. There are some good acts on there. You should trawl through them. They were the hosts on this. But definately look through the comedy sketches.

Since Father Ted - not a fan of Inbetweener's so don't watch, but man - I dig your reactions to UK stuff. I definitely enjoy you + then Queen and longer form videos too. It's funny on the Two Nations/common language, but you *get it* with our stuff + it's cool seeing someone dig stuff. There's probably some kinda sociollogical ~culture shift stuff going on Covid Vs Connectedness, but the world's a smaller space in a lot of senses for learning other cultures - there's some cool Latin American* channels if you can handle the subs - AI-voice SUCKS. * Hope that's the correct term.
