Hey Ryan. In case you read the comments, in case you see this one, I have a question about you. You seem to be an open minded person. Have you always been open minded and that's why you're curious about Germany and other countries or did you become open minded (or _more_ open minded) after you started to watch videos about how it's like outside of your country? I'm curious because there are quite a few Americans who are convinced that the USA is the best and they won't waste their time looking at what other countries do.

When Trump wins the election you can react every week to such clips from Die heute Show and Extra Drei.

Here in Lower Saxony we had actually recently in our History-A-Levels (Geschichtsabitur) the task to compare the situation right now in the us, to the society of the republic of weimar (1918-1933). (I didn't do that Task, because I had more knowledge about the other Task with china, but) if you look over there, it's frightening. It's not similar, but it's also a deeply unstable society, which seems to lean away from democracy, because the system got so dysfunctional and didn't enough represent the will of the people. So they got attracted to the populists, which tell them seemingly simple solutions and radicalize them to bind them. Also Propaganda-TV-channels like Fox News (and other right-wing extremistic media) tell them "alternative facts" (aka lies) and manipulate them. We have that populists here to, but they are not that big as the republicans and have to fight against Resistance: As the AfD (rightwing-extremist party) had a disgusting conference there they planned mass-deportations of Foreigners (even people which are here since generations) and disabling of public funded media (like the PiS-Party in Poland, which had turned the publicly funded media in a PiS-Party-Propaganda-broadcast (luckily the poles have voted them recently into opposition)), it was a massive scandal, which provoced huge demonstrations against them and now these little sh*tholes have to fear a party ban (hopefully). I was shocked as I read that donald trump sayed similar things about deportation of immigrants and nobody seemed to care. What he now says, with "immigrants are vermin and pollute the American blood" (I don't know exactly the quote in english), is so disgustingly near to the language here in Germany after 1933. (But that's my view from the outside, I don't know how you experience all that living in the us)

While it may look funny to have a clown as president, it actually isn't funny at all. It's a very dangerous thing in reality...

Actually, really great impressions of politicians used to be the mainstay of (political) comedy in Germany; in particular during the 1980s and 1990s. Arguably though, the leading politicians back then also had funnier (and easier to spot) mannerisms…

I love the way Christian Ehring is expressing himself while he doesn't even crack a small smile 🤣 And Max Giermann is one of the best (ONE of the best for all the people who will feel mostly likely offended by it) Comedian in Germany. Donald Trump is perceived in Germany as a dangerous clown🤡. The first presidency can still be debited as an accident of history or the American electoral law, which has nothing to do with democracy, if even the one who had the highest share of votes can lose. A second presidency would tear the USA apart and Europe at the same time. That can't stand comedy anymore.

Extra Dry jokes after 10 PM, politically incorrect on channel one. If you’re a friend of channel two, you’ll probably love the «heute show».

The interpreter said "... romantic, small, inhumane dictatorship ...", btw. They dropped some the words for legibility reasons, i assume.

I would laugh if it wasn’t so sad and so real, but the saddest part is that so many Americans idolize him, should he win the elections it may well be the last elections for a long time in the US. He will never give up power again. Germany 1930’s situation, over here in Europe (Belgium) we regognize the signs, and see him for what he really is.

This must be the worst Extra3 clip i have ever seen. You should sometimes really recognize when the stuff you react to is just garbage and count your losses and let it be instead of releasing in anyway. Giermann is a god but this is so slow paced extremely unfunny and cringe. The whole "translation" part is so unnecessary and kills it.
