The best thing about this is the actress playing Sugar was quite unknown at this time, then a year later she got a main role in the UK soap Eastenders which made her famous in the UK 😎👍

This has always been my favourite episode the show. When I found it on youtube, at least a decade after having seen it, I realised that most of the phrases I say from the show are all from this episode.

No, Tom wasn't in Eastenders, but the actress (Elaine Lordan) who plays Sugat was. It is very popular soap in the UK so a common reference for us natives😁

I was the one that told you what Sugar Walls really meant! One British saying that you missed was when Tom & Sugar are in the bar and she leaves him saying “I’m going to go shake me lettuce!” … and she leaves him to go to the toilet before he meets Patsy from Eastenders. Let your imagination figure it out again!! 😂 There’s a great meme which has been around for a while with a picture of Linda and it says …”in a world full of Kardashian’s everyone needs a Linda” 😂

When I was doing Drama at (my fourth school) BCHS, I was the only one who didn't read out the stage directions, but I still can't remember what my Teachers name was, but she did give me some good words of encouragement, she said I was very creative, imaginative and full of ideas, but we never had enough time to do the lesson, but it wasn't because we had short amount of space during the timetable, but we spent most of the duration walking in the corridor trying to find what room they had moved the class to.

Yeah the Eastenders thing with Tom is just making out he had a tiny part in it as an extra, hence Linda's 'Well I missed it on account of the fact I blinked' but he wasn't really in it. As others have said, 'Sugar' had a main role in Eastenders a few years after this and Patsy Palmer, the red head who punches him, was in Eastenders for a long time and it's her character Tom is meant to have purchased a jacket from in his made up extra role in it. Love this episode and Linda with the doll is as good as she would have been as one of Charlie's Angels :D

Then not long after this the actress, ironically, got a job in EastEnders as Lynn Slater. She was in it a few years I think, at least 3 or 4. Along with Shane Richie who was also mentioned in this episode! Can't remember if Patsy Palmer was in it at that time though? I think she may have been out of it then.

Cool episode glad its as funny as series 1. Eastenders actually a real show, which at the time that girl that punched Tim was in, also the lady that plays Linda's sister was also in it. so an interesting bit of 4th wall breaking there. cool reaction bro. the 2 neighbours always paying Tom and Linda money for shit. haha before to camp in their garden!! #charlies angels.

This episode was so funny 😂 2 stand out moments for me were Linda saying to the 2 women who had a go at her for hitting the 'baby' - 'it's not alive!' And Tom saying 'I'm in distress' and Linda replying 'I'm in *this* dress' 🤣 just brilliant. Loads of belly laughs in this one. And I can picture Linda in *Charlie's Angels* 😉😄 Thanks Kid 🤗💛

No hes not been in Eastenders which is a soap over here. I've been in Eastenders as a feature role which is one step above background actors. I was paid £475 for 20 minutes acting without lines.

Ben Elton is literally completely insane beautiful. Only a few years ago he was right in his prime. He looks like the British version of John Oliver. Beautiful as ridiculous older guy. He has like a big lower lip and he's perfectly tanned. It's funny guys like him that aren't h0t when they're young and then they suddenly turn into crazybeautiful when they're decidedly middle-aged. Like Griffin Dunne or whatever.
