Guy is a musical scientist. He knows how music works and he can play with different elements of it, including vocals but also many other instruments and music theory behind beats and rhythms. They’re all his songs he writes his music and lyrics himself. He starts off with Before I Go sung in the key of B minor, transitions seamlessly into F minor for Battle Scars then to C major for Who’s that Girl, without dropping a note. Oh and by the way, the first song? It spans nearly 3 octaves (f2-d5). Unreal.
Guy is a national treasure. An amazing talent, that won the inaugural season of Australian Idol (2003). He has released ten top ten albums, including three number ones. The first seven all gained either platinum or multi-platinum certification with his number 1 single Battle Scars (ft. Lupe Fiasco) being 13x Platinum. Not only is Guy a great talent but is very engaged with children charities donating a lot of his time and money to various charities and even forming his own with his Partner Jules, the Sebastian Foundation which has helped with services for young girls, domestic violence shelters, hospitals, music therapy, mentoring programs for teenagers, women who have experienced domestic violence and more. A good follow up video to this that I'd recommend would be where he surprises a school choir, that's singing his song. He was very popular here in Norway in the 80's and 90's .Haven't heard a lot of him since, other then what i have seen on YT. He has an incredible voice. Australia should be proud of this rare gem 🇦🇺

And Australian Dami Im came 2nd in Eurovision song contest a few years later. She may have won it but for the fact that it would have been quite difficult for Australia to host the event from down under.

@mareek. because the competition is sponsored by SBS television worldwide, and Australia is a member of SBS. I think its SBS, it could be a different entity but Australia is a member of the group, and on those grounds, they have been allowed to participate.
Guy is a legend! He was our first ever Aussie Idol winner in 2003 and has had a stellar career since! In his personal life he has a stunning wife ...Jules Sebastian. She is very successful too! Very sweet lovely people. They have two little boys together 🙂
Guy Sebastian is an amazing performer with an amazing heart. This bloke walked 500kms all for Kids Mental Health. It was raining most of the trip but he still stopped when people wanted photo's etc. A wonderful human !!! Us Aussies love him heaps❤💯
America didn’t give Guy the credit he deserved. He is an amazing singer and he isn’t auto tuned, it is all him. You need to listen to his music. This was a melody of songs but all of his music is fantastic. And no they are not his total songs. He has made much more music and you should react to some of the complete versions of his songs. He is a master craftsman and America missed out by not giving him a record deal, cudos to him for not changing who he is. He will always be one of Australia’s shining stars.

Listen to his first album and the version of Battle Scars he did with Lupe Fiasco live on the X factor Australia where he was also a judge. I prefer that to his live solo version. My youngest daughter was being treated for cancer when she was 2 years old when he was on the first Australian ldol. I needed something to focus on to take my mind off her treatments and he was it. I was in the hospital with her the night the winner was announced, and l had to restrain myself from yelping out loud when he was declared the winner, as we were on a shared ward. My youngest is now 22 by the way and healthy as a horse.
He is a talented singer/songwriter and has far more than 3 songs in his repertoire. He also plays piano, guitar beautifully and has his own record studio and label where he encourages and mentors up and coming singers.. He is the most genuine, down to earth guy you could meet. He started out singing in Hillsong Church choir but thankfully has left that cult. He won the very 1st Australian Idol and has been the most successful to date. He is a Singer's Singer. He is a popular judge on The Voice because he gives such great feedback. His own voice range is amazing.
Remember when Guy Sebastian was known as "The Fro"? Certainly come a long way from those days. He won the first Australian Idol. He lost to Kelly Clarkson in the World Idol (?). Guy won the first Australian idol back in 2003. He’s one of Australia’s greatest singer songwriters has written string of really great hits. Surprised you haven't ever come across his song 'Battle Scars' before, maybe its just this version that sounds unfamiliar. Original version was a collaboration between him and Lupe Fiasco, and some parts sounded quite different to this.
Guy is fantastic. He writes all his own music and is so loved here in Oz for being a great human as well as an amazing talent. He was our very first VOICE winner.

Yes these are all of his hit songs. I loved Guy since the first audition on Australian Idol. He also toured last year and I think it was the best concert I have ever seen in my life. The best thing is he always comes across on tv as so genuine and such a lovely person. I guess that’s also why us Aussies fell in love with him all those years ago and love him as a artist and his songs!
You should check out his version of 'The Prayer' with Bella Taylor Smith. She was the winner of the Voice Australia in 2021 and he was her coach. It is an absolutely stunning, immaculately performed song. Her voice is absolutely incredible, and combined with his they are absolutely amazing.

oh please do more Guy Sebastian. Guy wrote all these songs. Guy writes about real life and is the most humble and down to earth man. He and his wife have a charity called The Sebastian Foundation which helps raise money for Shelters for women and children of domesic vialnce also recently he did a walkathon to raise funds for their 'Open Parachute' program which provides assistance to student who are struggling with the after effect of Covid lockdowns and mental stress. He actually walked 500 kilometres himself and raised over $1 million. It's now in about 100 schools and is free to all students. Love your channel my friend.

That is a dip in the ocean of the songs that he's released over his 20yr career. He won Australian Idol in 2003 and has just continued to get better and better every year. I have all his albums and have seen him live twice. He puts on an incredible show and with he and his wife started @thesebastianfoundation that focuses on mental health and domestic violence support.
