The defense forces have about 1,500 artillery guns. There are more than 700 of these cannons, just under a hundred rocket launchers and more than 700 heavy mortars.

You have to remember that Finland is very small in population, so 51st is pretty amazing. I dont know if there is a military stronger or as strong than Finland when comparing to the size of the country? Maybe Israel?

I think this number is not based on any kind of expert estimation on military strength but just on monetary spending towards military. Since Finland has conscription, it can direct most of the money towards More capable material. If capability to fight land war was actually appraised, Finland would be much higher.

@@seppokarjalainen2409 you might be right. Would be interesting to know the source.

To better understand the total defense system, check out a short film made by the Finnish Defense Forces on their YT chanel called Taistelukenttä 2020 (Battlefield 2020)

Ita true Paasikivi&Kekkonen .The Paasikivi-Kekkonen line means Finland's foreign policy line of neutrality after the Second World War. It got its name from the post-war presidents J. K. Paasikive and Urho Kekkones. The term was launched by Kekkonen's supporters. The aim was first to support Kekkonen's presidential campaign and later to transfer to him the prestige enjoyed by Paasikivi. However, even the leadership of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union considered Kekkonen's line to serve the goals of the Soviet Union, quite different from Paasikivi's line. source?

Not to say as hate, but you need to adjust your mic a little. Sound levels go up and down way too much. Some sentences can be heard clearly but some are just like a tiny mumble.

Rank 51. I don't know why, but maybe it only counted the size of the professional army? Which in Finland is quite small, due to the huge educated reserve. Was it even noticed? A country with modern technology, a lot of weapons and ships needed for the defense of its own country and nature, and the largest army in Europe if the reserve is included, surely cannot rank at number 51.

And 85% of Finnish people are ready to fight for their country. Every Finn is a child or grandchild of some winter war soldier. Because hole nation took a part of that. So we have never forgot that a country size 150 million people attached a country size 3,5 million people in 1939. We love our country, we love each other and we love our families. So we are ready to fight for them if it is necessary. Hope it won't tho.

@@pekkaerholtz3163 Quita reasoning you have. Us buying US arms in modern age has nothing to do with WWII GIs.

we ranking 51st in the military rating probably mainly for low population.
@sampsani
@sampsani 7 дней назад
I think the ranking is heavily focused on active military personel. Also many rankings/statistics doesnt have the full wartime reserve, only the active reserve numbers.
