You need to watch Ray Hudson on Messi, British commentator, he is the one that comes up with all those crazy descriptions and analogies, the guy is hilarious, he brings you laugh and often he brings you down to tears, so good the guy!
of coz Mbappe so talented ...he already world champion and score a hat trick goal in his 2nd final of the world cup at the age 24...The only hope is he should change his attitude at Real Madrid next season
Watching Mbappe at 19 was a masterclass. Ronaldo at 19 was being told to stop showboating and convert his technique to goals, while at Madrid he played very similarly to Mbappe using his speed and effective technique to get past defenders and that truly took his game to a new level.
the reason this is impressive is that when players like ronaldo and Neymar get slightly touched they dive for a penalty or foul but messi keeps going and going
I was about to write this with the same two examples of diving players. Messi doesn't fall but goes on and if he happens to fall, he just bounces back up and keeps going 😊
I still don't understand how people compare him with other players, for people who watch football can easily understands Messi is the greatest player that ever touched football! 🐐⭐❤️
I was just going to comment the opposite; I don't understand why the commentators are saying he's doing things no other player has ever done since Maradona was literally the same type of player, same nationality, same size, same number. The difference isn't skill, it's discipline and consistency. Maradona was a party animal, and his career suffered because of it, while Messi is super professional and will retire after basically a flawless 20-year long career. If not for a few injuries he'd have won player of the year 10 years in a row.
@@korganrocks3995 Yes they have same type of play. And probably same level of talent. But Maradona has dive a lot in the game, thats the difference. sometimes it just ruin the flow. Onetime he Goin nuts when some opponent do him harsly, literally start a riot by karate kickin the opponent.. While Messi is unbreakable, he keep comin even the opponent literally try to break his legs, and referee doin nothin. It Will be frustated many player, specially Maradona, lol Messi skills is above Maradona, probably cos it better discipline, train method and nutrition.. And outside of football field, Messi was the positive influencing man as an example for the youngster to follow. Not Maradona
@@undertheglassmoon2239You're genuinely the first person I've ever seen call Maradona a diver. Take a look at the tackles he was receiving back in those days and tell me that shit wouldn't hurt...
@@korganrocks3995for your information, Maradona and Messi are not as similar as you claim, Maradona was one of the greatest dribblers ever, Messi is not limited to that, Messi is among the best scorers, the best passers, the best playmakers, the best dribblers, the most creative, best at controlling games, best at being an enganché, so in and so forth
Ray Hudson is the commentator and he is a genius verbal acrobat in his own right. I've seen hundreds of games where Messi was playing and Phil Schoen and Ray Hudson were covering and it was nothing less than completely entertaining.. Ray is a former professional footballer and manager and he is part of the reason why I fell in love with the game 15 years ago..
12:22 This is when you're slowly realizing that he's just different than anyone else. You're beginning to understand he's not just "very, very good" or one of the all time greats. He quite literally is something impossible it feels like. Nobody is comparable and to compare him to anyone even gets to the point where it seems either disrespectful or dismissive of all he does.
Peak Messi always reminds me of this thing I once heard: When you go to one of these 'shows on ice', there's often one whose a bit of a clown. The one who "can't skate" and is constantly flailing around on the brink of slipping over. Well... They're actually played by the most talent skaters. They have mastered skating to such an extent that they can control it up to the brink of failure where half a millimeter difference saves them from catastrophe. Seeing messi run through 3 defenders as they tackle him and catch his leg as he stumbles through always looking as if he's knocked the ball too close to the opposition only to then stumble his foot out to snatch it back then stumbling again at the next dude and using that to knock the ball back out of his foot perfect to where his other leg is stumbling towards... That is the most perfect example of that level of mastery. Where you are reacting instanteously. Messi can be 90% committed to knocking the ball to the right and just at the last second if he sees the defenders knee shift, or situation change he can stop the dead or shift to the left, or feint a touch. Most footballers would go into 3 defenders thinking with a concrete plan. Knock it to the left of the first defender, stop it with my right and do a spin to get round the second.. But then if the fist defender gets a toe on the ball the entire dribble breàks down because they were running to where the ball should be according to their plan. Where Messi uses that chaos of the ball pinging around having instantaneous mini plans 1)'the balls there get a touch on it before the defender does' 2) the balls pinged left into a bit of space and second defenders now coming. Get there first 3) got here first, we're going to collide. Stop! 4) oh shit now I'm still. Move before you're closed down!
Beautiful comment. You understand how an active dribbler does it. Before Messi I watched Okocha play live. His stats never captured how outrageous he was
@@jgreen2015Nah, you made sense. I played organised soccer as a kid, and I had no ball skills whatsoever, but what I was good at was reading attackers like a book and stealing the ball when they tried to get past me. Unfortunately I was a really late bloomer, so once puberty hit(everyone else, not me) I was just getting beaten for speed against every single opponent, so I quit the team. I started playing with friends as an adult, and since we didn't have fixed positions we all had to try to defend, pass, shoot and dribble, and I found myself actually getting good at those things. The point I'm getting at is that no matter how good I got at dribbling, I never reached that "virtuoso" level where you just instinctively improvise your way through these situations; I needed that concrete plan you mentioned, and when I had it I usually managed to execute it, but if it broke down I'd revert to my old defender instincts and try to get hold of the ball again and pass it to the nearest open teammate. Also, once I was dribbling, I had no awareness of what else was around me, and I would just play the ball inbetween defense and goalie and hope for the best! 😄
Very cool to see someone falling in love with soccer and really appreciating the game that has brought so many people around the world so much joy. Extra special that it's a fellow Alabamian. Keep spreading the good word. Watching from Vietnam 🇻🇳
for context the guy who said "if i try to do that, i fall over" isnt a pundit, that was one of the most gifted strikers of his generation, if he is confused how can anyone else understand, he used to confuse pepole himself :P
He's so good at keeping the ball very close to his legs people start saying that he has the ball glued to his shoes😁. There's many instances when he's against multiple defenders and it seems like he's tripped by one player, and I assume he lost the ball because I can't see the ball (because he keep it so close) only to find he still going. Only after watching the close up slow motion replay I realized what happened.
I'd highly recommend watching anything related to Diego Maradona. He's essentially the inspiration for so many footballers in the world and is just as astonishing as Messi. He's also playing on way worse pitches but it's truly incredible. I have subscribed :)
I am kind of sad that we are on the final laps of Messi's career, however I'm happy and proud to be a contemporary of his era and enjoy his talent right from his beginning. The thing that for me makes him the GOAT is not only his talent and techique, how he has mastered so many aspects of the game, but also how he has managed to reinvent himself and being at the top for almost 18 years since 2005, just couple of batches because of a few injuries and 2013. But other than that, I dont know if there are 5 athletes of any sports that have been peak for such a long timeframe.
The commentor is Ray Hudson, best football commentary ever ha ha there is nothing funnier than him screaming or pulling out ridiculous ad libs, another great reaction mate.
I am Argentine and like many of my people we were born loving soccer as a way of life, as if it were a religion but without God... until we met Maradona, who showed us that we were good in our soccer beliefs, and it was he who gave the post to lionel andres messi, who, based on such inspiration, not only surpassed the aforementioned, but also managed to make you like football, without ever paying the slightest attention to it... I send you a big hug from Argentina, Welcome to our religion, Welcome to Latin American soccer. Cradle of the most talented players in history. messi is now our god, as were pelè, ronaldinho, kakà, Romario, and an indefinite list of other monsters from every country on our earth. messi GOAT.
There are two videos I'd really recommend you see, reaction or otherwise; ''How to Play (Fail) Against Lionel Messi'', Managers, players and other icons of the game talking about facing Messi and their attempts to control him. And ''The Game Through the Eyes of Lionel Messi''. A video very few have reacted to but one that i find very interesting. Here Messi himself explains how he plays and also talks about other things like mindsets and such. Two excellent videos imo
If you ever see Messy lost in time, be afraid, because he is not lost he is planning… he knows exactly what play he can do and where the ball would end up. People don’t understand how talented and smart Messy is. It’s just mind blowing. You can be a strong athletic player but Messi has pure talent and brain 🧠
The funniest thing about Lio is that statistics really never meant anything, we all knew this guy was the and still is the most fun, entertaining and talented, but here is the thing, he is as well if you read the numbers 😂
Great content as always. I would recommed to react just after every InterMiami game, that would be maybe a fresh material. You're still having those 3 Messi InterMiami games.
He debuted in the toughest league in the world & play against some of the very best defenders & goalkeepers in the world & yet, he makes it look like playing against some 16 yr old school kids.. Some of the very best footballers in the world said he's an alien & i 1300% agree.
The one comment that stood out from one of the commentators was, that Messi sees the the game in slow motion. This must be one of the best ways to explain his skill. I watched a documentary on Messi and European based players said he was the most frustrating player to play against simply because of his center of gravity. Messi for me, is, simply a genius of the beautiful game.
I recommend watching "Ronaldinho Football's Greatest Entertainment", he was the player who made me and basically everyone else in my generation fall in love with football, everyone wanted to be like him
Yo man it’s awesome to see you starting to fall in love with this game. It’s had me hooked for nearly 30 years now. If you ever have any questions feel free to reach out. Subscribed
You are definitely a very fast learner. You must be a pretty smart person because your comment about watching Messi and understanding why he is the goat (neglecting statistics) is absolutely spot on. But even statistically, he is still the greatest.
Ray Hudson is former player and yes, absolutely adores Messi's skills. The astonishment comes from his experience on the Pitch. He knows from experience that Messi is at minimum, a once in a lifetime player. Imagine if Barca didn't agree to Messi because of the cost of his medicine. One, he would have been a dwarf (maybe). And 2, some other Club would have got him. But maybe not in Europe because of his size.
Watch MSN the greatest attacking trio there ever was (messi, suarez, neymar) you wont regret it…all the 3 players from south america dominating Europe!!
Ray Hudson is the "poet" commentator who adored Messi. He retired to the home of Inter Miami a few years ago. He literally lives down the road from Messi!
The cherry on top is that Messi is such a nice guy too. A genuinely good man. Fell in love with his wife as a kid (his friend's cousin). Knew she was the one. Doesn't put his arms around other women for pictures. Also, compare his red card numbers to other greats. I think he has 4 in his career. Zidane's last act was a red card. Messi is just different in all the best ways.
This is the beauty on the other side of soccer/futbol, there are commentators that are legends at this! This is also fútbol my guy and is awesome! Glad you like it, it suppose to be a little over the top so the commentator can shine a little bit as well. Check Peter Drury on the world cup final, goosebumps!
Do react to Suarez as you've seen him in your recent video you also need to see his best goals. I swear no other player other thsn Messi or Ronaldo has goal tally of amazing goals like him
Suarez is such a weird dribbler. I swear every time I watch him dribble I feel like it's super obvious what he's gonna do, yet defenders constantly fall for it. I've never felt that way when it comes to any other dribbler, so it's not like I'm claiming to be some kind of armchair world class defender; it's just Suarez for some reason.
The comentator is RAY HUDSON. Ray has played against one of the greatest players of all time “DIEGO MARADONA” in the 1980s. He has seen many players play. He saw Messi play and he just couldn't believe his eyes. Messi is a genius. He is magical. The god of the game. THE GREATEST PLAYER OF ALL TIME
One of the best things about Messi is he tries to stay on his feet so most of the time if he goes down it's legit not like some other top rated players
Next two best videos of Messi for me, even if it's an old one: Messi, a god amongst men. And the second, a resumé of his best season for me, 2019 season. "why Messi won his 6th ballon d'or"
Thank.
I love Messi, he is just the goat in the pitch and a great human being out of it. If you love Messi to you have a new follower since this moment…. Great video ! Big hug from Austria
In the 60 Minutes Sports on Messi, a sportscaster who cover Barcelona many years mentioned “Messi does things that nobody ever seen before. He does things that nobody understand how he produces them.”
There is a video of tail from an argentinian writter called: "Messi is a Dog ● Messi es un Perro ● Never Dives". Please give it a try, I think you will enjoy it and perhaps see something different than just goals or plays.
React to the videos I've given you in a community post earlier...you'll see how messi has really mastered all aspects of football. It's really mind blowing to me. I don't think that anybody could be as good at *anything* as messi is at football. Love from India ❤
Ive watched messi all my life and watch vid still makes my jar drop its beyond unreal he by far greatest of all time not even close!and thats no knock on the greats! Maradona amazing his famous run vs england messi does that every game
If you can never let your son go play outside, on the pavement, without supervision, without protective gear, without..."helicopter moms", you will never understand the heart of a real South-American footballer. We bleed and we still play...even if just for bragging rights
12:41 This is very important to understand and this is a debate I have with a few people who don't believe Messi is the best player ever. Let's say Messi never scored a goal, let's say Messi never won any trophies and awards, well, for me he's still the best, goals, statistics, awards... that's secondary, when you see Messi playing on the field, you realize that nobody can move like that. Congrats for being able to identify this as the true measurement to consider him the best player.
They couldn't stop him so they had to rough him up.I know I been following Messi for 20 years. He plays with other professional soccer players like they are children.
