Roger Lloyd Pack, who played Trigger, was a great guy in real life; he and his wife had a home very near my Nanny and they always looked after her, bringing her home made food, checking on her etc, especially when she was in her 80's. One of my most prized possessions is a photo of Roger and my Nan - it was put in a our local paper and as a joke, she cut it out and he wrote a message to her on it and signed it 😆. Sadly he passed away before my Nan did, but his wife wrote and spoke a specially written poem (she's a poet) at my Nan's funeral, which was lovely. She was a lovely person to meet too, I just wish I had the chance to meet Roger aswell as I'm so thankful for how the treated my Nan for all those years ❤. R.I.P Trigger ❤

@@thiskamg Same goes for Fawlty Towers, 12 episodes I think, yet it’s another worldwide classic. Currently I’m mostly watchin’ Still Game, the spin-off from the Scottish comedy show ‘Chewin the Fat’ - Ronald Villiers, the hapless aspiring thespian / out of work actor is one of the funniest characters I’ve seen in years. Steptoe and Son is another classic I’ve watched during furlough, 14 years that ran for but only 6 episodes a year with a few specials. They just don’t make ‘em like they used to. Bless this House, George and Mildred, On The Buses, too many to list. I don’t think that it’s the modern writing that’s the problem, it’s like anything, there’s just so much of everything at the touch of a button that we’ve become emotionally desensitised to horrific gore as much as comedy, in the 60’s & 70’s you had to wait until it was repeated. There was no TV after midnight, with the BBC shutting down to the national anthem at 12am. This is why life is finite, if we were immortal then we’d be putting everything off til tomorrow, forever. I am writing this as a proud Brit promoting the greatest British sitcom/drama of all time. You are the only one I've seen so far with a genuine reaction who seems to jump the language barrier and understand the humour. Do yourself a service and try and get this show, Only Fools and Horses on dvd. Then strap in for a show that spanned over 20 plus years as they go from tough times to great times. You will not regret it. Also a little insider knowledge here, the shows creator and writer John Sullivan saw this happen in real life in a bar and struggled for many years to write it into a scene. It's now in the top five greatest sitcom scenes of all time. Peace ✌️

Del Boy (David Jason) was in another comedy called Open All Hours with Ronnie Barker who was affectionately known as "the guvnor" by all in the industry. They ended up best of friends until Barker's sad death. Check out "Porridge", it's widely considered Barker's finest work. Porridge in the UK is slang for doing time in prison.

I was actually at the recording for this as part of the audience. Must have been the only person that missed it as i was looking around the set at the exact moment. My expression was similar to Triggers - eh, what happened!?! Where’s Del boy. One take only, he got off a crash mat afterwards... great show.

I used to watch this with my family when I was young and my favourite part was when Rodney was scared of his new nephew, Damian 😂😂😂 There was actually a really sad story behind this, where the two brothers were dirt poor and always trying to make an extra buck. Was so lovely when they finally won the lottery, I cried 🥲

This fall through the bar has been voted the greatest comedy moment in British tv many decades on the trot. The chandelier scene, Trigger Broom, painting of the chinese takeaway and Mum’s grave monument, are brilliant.

I've seen this 100 times and it still cracks me up. You have to watch more of this series and review it. There isn't a sitcom with soo many funny characters, the best one being Trigger. Only Fools and Horses is surely the best ever British Comedy, and you know it's good when people half your age who are only watching these episodes now 20/30 years later find it as funny as we did when we were younger.

The fall that David Jason performs in that scene is one of the most difficult things to do. The inbuilt self preservation instinct is extremely powerful. As a result, the natural reaction is to put an arm out in an attempt to save yourself. David Jason performed this without so much as a flinch, and in just one take. True fact.
