the doormat was used to keep the door open, but when that one CDU voter got to the polling place it was not in place and so the door was closed. He tried again later though when the doormat was put back and was able to vote. It was a runoff election and the candidate from the green party won with 50.5%, so the CDU claimed the election was invalid because noone can tell how many voters that didn't try again later were not able to get into the polling place while the matt was moved
The problem was that the doormatt wasn't there when he tried to vote first so he couldn't open the door. But he could vote later. At least that's how I understood it.
That happened 2015. Fassbinder of the green partie has been Lord Mayor of Greifswald since 2015. He was re-elected last year. You saw that some candidates of conservative parties feel betrayed when they lose an election in the last election in the USA... 😂 With us, such people make it into satire shows, with you they want to compete again in the next election. And honestly, as a mayor, it's embarrassing, but as a President? 🤦🏼♀️
The abbreviation CDU stands officially for Christian Democratic Union (and the Bavarian CSU for Christian Social Union), but actually it would be more honest to take the C simply for Conservative.
Hey Ryan, you always like to read german titles/textes. Here some tricks for the pronounciation: If you see "ei" in a german word, pronounce it like english "eye". If it's "ie" it's pronunced like "ee", like you would scream "wee woo" (alos the i is generally pronunced like "e" in english)). "o" is "oh" and "u" is "oo". *Sumary: ei -> eye, ie -> ee, o -> oh, u -> oo*
Still fun to hear you trying speak german. You‘re getting better! By the way you definitly also laugh, hearing my english 😉 And by the way, i also love extra 3
Have you ever planned a trip to germany? Come to Ulm! We are a smaller town (120.000 souls), but we do have the tallest church in the world. And we are right in the middle of the capital cities of Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg. And we are close to the swabian albs (some kind of our highlands). I could show you the nicest places. And if you come in September, it's only a 90 minutes trip to the one and only real Oktoberfest. Sadly I don't have enough space to host 3 people. 😊
"von" can mean "from", that's correct, although I would have translated it to "the doormat of Greifswald" in this case. Anyway, I really liked seeing the effort you put in trying to translate the title on your own and how you got it almost(or even completely?) right.🙂
Dear co-commentators, I'd like to advise you not to comment any of Ryan Wass's videos any longer. I repeatedly gave him "lessons" in German pronuntiation (nothing complicated; just things like not to drop vowels at the ends of words or how to pronounce "ei" and "ie"). I've tried to help him maybe four or five times. Yet I have to notice he doesn't care at all and goes on making the same mistakes over and over again. To me it's obvious he doesn't even read these commentaries. Do yourself a favour and stop wasting your time writing this guy! I'm pretty sure these words of mine will not be removed and stay here for the rest of this channel's existence because he won't read them anyways.
yeh. clickcount and views are doing good, if it works without caring about comments, why even bother ... i guess that is the basic mindset. It's fairly easy to put up reaction videos every day. Just watch, pause, talk, watch and wait for the germans to invade the comment section ;)) is' quasi ein Selbstläufer ohne viel Arbeitsaufwand. Also ist er auf den Zug halt aufgesprungen ...
"did that make the news?" lol - on the day where all over the world the latest charges in Georgia can be seen and heard in the news ... 🤣 (ok, you probably recorded that earlier but the conincidence is quite funny)
My mind was like "oh shit, Ukraine conflict now escalating to adjacent regions?", and then I looked it up, which was kinda a relief and disappointment at the same time.
* cough cough * .... Opposition, cough cough. And they wanna be the opposition XD meanwhile the AfD has Democracy as the first and most holy doctrine and ACTUALLY is the Opposition 💪🏻😮💨🇩🇪💙
To be fair, when it's like another poster said, there were only 15 votes difference, then it it's totally possible that a closed door prevented that number of people from voting. Though the case for that is weakened a lot when you can't find anyone that even claims he was unable to vote ;) It's good that voting is taken so seriously, even if oyu sometimes end up with Schildbüger-Streiche.
@@steemlenn8797 Even if you assume that some people who wanted to vote eventually left without voting because they couldn't figure out how to get into the polling station, it would affect all voters. Unless you want to say, that only (or mainly) CDU voters were too dumb to realize that there was a door bell and a second entrance while everybody else was smart enough to get in anyway. Since there wasn't anyone who claimed he/she was unable to vote, you can assume that there actually wasn't anyone or that they didn't care.
@@rwsrwsrwt There is no assuming in voting. It either works or not. btw. voting computers cannot work. It's technologically impossible to have an anonymous voting that everyone can control with a voting computer.
1:33 Sooooo many! Ryan, seriously it is six, seven if you want to be really exact. 1. SPD (center left) 2(+1). CDU/CSU (The Union a merger of center right conservatives and bavarian conservativs) 3. FDP (Libarals, center left and right) 4. Bündnis90, die Grünen (green party, center left) 5. Die Linke ( left wing + a bunch of russia entusiasts) 6.AfD (right wing + a lot of facists) There are some small ones more but even we don´t count them as political relevant.
The CDU guy is in place until it is sorted out because he was the former mayor (?) but wasn't reelected. So until a new one is elected he says in places
make a video reaction about Zell (Mosel) and the landscape over there.... its soo beautiful cause u see mountains along the river with houses allover... realy great place
@@CDP1861 Ah yes true true, now they are kuddling with the fascists and bomb everything that does not fit into their idiotic narrow-minded way of thinking.
@@CDP1861 That take is a fabricated myth. The trick is that it might feel true if you go by gut-feeling, but if you actually examine their actual actions and positions it totally flies in the face of facts.
That's a joke. In Berlin there was much more chaos during the election. The elections here are usually on Sundays. And the election usually ends at 6 p.m. After 6 p.m., the first estimates may be published when the polling stations are closed. In Berlin, federal elections and local elections were held simultaneously. But it happened that there were not enough ballot papers in the polling station. The election was therefore interrupted at 5 p.m. and resumed shortly before 6 p.m. when enough ballot papers had been obtained. But a queue had formed in front of the polling station so that by 6 p.m. not all voters had cast their votes. Despite the fact that the election continued after 6 p.m., the first estimates were already published after 6 p.m. Therefore, the election was challenged in court. The court decided that the error was negligible for the federal election. But the local election was declared invalid and had to be held again.
It is however normal that if you are already in line before 6pm, you are still allowed to vote, even if it is after 6pm. So that is not the part that was the trouble here.
As the next Video, could you review the music Video of Seiler & Speer - Ham kummst. They normally look normal, in this Video they just weard weird stuff. Their fromm Austria.
yo my dud have a video suggestion: "Forklift driver Klaus - The first day on job" its a 9:33 min long video is german with english subs. it is a real education german video.
Hey Ryan are you ever gonna make a Video where U Order sweets n Others stuff from Germany and react to their taste? Like "Waldmeister" i would Love to See that
Honestly ... I don´t like the CDU, but they had a point there. The entrance to the voting room has to be open and not some entrance somewhere, but the entrance which is indicated in the letter which voters receive in advance and at that address, that entrance has to be properly labled. I had a similar situation at my previous home, where the doors at the address of the election room were locked and the actual entrance was around the block at a different postal address, at the actual, official address there was not even a sign. People who were new to the area or elderly people had a reduced chance to vote there. I informed the helpers at the election and thought, that would solve the problem for the next elections. I didn´t. Maybe an official accusation of election fraud would have done more.
It's really sad. The CDU ist still the largest party in Germany and it has done a lot of good things in the past, but now trying to stay in power for a while longer with such shady tricks is just poor and damaging to democracy. I mean, yes, everyone has the right to vote and if one is prevented that's a problem even if it wouldn't have affected the final result, but hey that guy was too stupid to find the second door or to ring the bell, putting this as an argument to challenge the vote is ridicules.
