Just because they are suspected of being terrorists, they still are protected by law and cannot be detained without evidence. The security services have a watch list of suspects and the greater the threat, the greater the surveillance. This guy must have been highly suspicious to be watched by so many but they still need evidence. Unfortunately he attacked before they could take him but they acted very quickly and a lot of this goes on unknown to the public.

@@sibbydemsthat's why i always find it funny when people say about the UK being safe because hardly anyone has guns, people get shot all the time, it just never makes the news, this is a perfect example, a suspected terrorist goes on a spree, and unless you looked for it you wouldn't know, should be national news everyone knows about, but usually ends up in a local paper for the day then swiftly forgotten about lol and even if it makes the news, they cover the important info up, and just say it was a knife crime incident while they hide the fact the government has imported terrorist organisations for decades and lets them operate while being entirely ignored, or even protected by the police because some leftist might cry racist.. this nation is turning to shit before our very eyes, the government and police have disarmed the public and still try to disarm us even further, refuse to protect us after disarming us, and welcome terrorist organisations with open arms and hide the fact one of them could well be your neighbour..

I'm Scottish. I've had a red dot on my chest at my own living room window from Scottish armed response unit after my next door neighbour who is bi-polar called police to say there was a man with a gun outside. I just saw multiple torches outside my window at 1 AM. Looked out the window and one turned around and put a dot on me for 2 seconds then went back to work. I got back. Layed down on my floor and listened to them shouting armed police, come out now. Then they sent two dogs in to a area of trees outside my house. Was a false alarm but pretty cool to see how professional they were. The officer chapped my door to explain. And hoped he didn't alarm me too much lol I was drunk and high. House stinking of weed. He was cool as fuck and just left after a few minutes.

He was being followed. He'd recently been released from prison for terrorist offences and was on the watch list. He'd done his time so they had to let him go, but they knew what was coming next.

Big warning to any idiots wanting to cause trouble in the UK is that fire arms officers don’t leave their guns locked up in the station. When i worked in a shop it was not that unusual to see a cop with a glock. Don’t know what the current gun of choice for fire arms officers is currently but the MP7 was the one I’d heard of as the glock is just back up.

Worth remembering our intelligence service, undercover police, MI6,MI5 etc are some of the best in the world. Obviously nothing is perfect and we are also a highly targeted country but the amount of incudents stopped that people don't know about is crazy. Unfortunately our justice service is a mess😅 finding the balance between fairness, freedom and reform and punishment isn't something we have found the balance in

Streatham is in London and the Armed Police are a special unit not ordinary Police officers. We do have Armed Police officers but they come from special units such as the CTSFO (Counter Terrorist Specialists Firearms Officers) who have been trained by the SAS, also SCO19 an armed unit of Police Officers, Armed Response Units which are ordinary Police officers with training in Firearms that they keep in the boot of the Police Car, MODPF which stands for the Ministry of Defence Police Force who are Armed Police Officers who are the Ministry of Defence Police officers who Guard Military bases and Places that are owned by the Ministry of Defence which is a UK Government Department. He was being watched as he would have been on a terror watch list . Thank god it they were or it could have been so much worse . We have thousands of extremists here in UK according to M15 . We have unfortunately had a lot of terror attacks . I dont know if you have done a video on the Manchester Arena bombing , 2 London Bridge attacks and a man who blew himself up in back of taxi . That taxi driver was a hero . Along with heros in the London Bridge attacks . Nearly all those attacks were by people known to Terroust police and on a watch list . Our Government is letting us down big time .

The police asked the prison governor to delay his release but at that time the law didn't allow it. The law has since been changed.

Yes STET-HAM It is in South London (where some of my family live and they say STET HUM) due to they way they talk like South of the Watur as in water and Original East Londonder have a different accent. Yes I remember this he was an Islamic extremist. IN the UK MI5 & Mi6 stop so many attacks that we never even hear about. Also we do have armed officers in normal police cars on the streets at all times but the gun are locked in a box and the have to get permission to open the box and use them. but we do have plan close cars that out of on where they put a red light on the roof of the nice fact car on with plan close officer in and those car can go. It did not start half an hour earlier, or obviously he would have stabbed more than two people. There was an investigation, as there is with all police shootings, and questions would have been asked if a surveillance team had let him walk around with a knife for thirty minutes.

Watch and listen to the video again. They were with him from leaving the house. They waited for him to stab someone and then it took them 62 seconds to do what they get paid to do. Stopping and searching him earlier would have prevented the attack. @@kevanwillis4571

Agreed, why is someone like this allowed to roam around WITH expensive government surveillance following him, AND he still gets to pull off an attack on the public. 62 seconds is a full minute too late. Should have been 2 seconds or better yet no seconds - no attack happening at all and no INNOCENT random members of the public getting hurt for NO reason, with government spooks watching it all, securely armed with guns that the public aren't allowed to have. What kind of a country is that, it's a sham country is what it is, a dystopian heckhole with scary spooks running it, murderous mentaloids roaming the streets at their behest, doing attacks literally right in front of them. And I'm supposed to applaud them taking over a minute to pull their finger out, what a joke. It's practically staged - just with real, innocent victims on the stage.
