Stop spending hate learn how to spread love is what we all need. We're living in a temporary falling world.
Tonga is still the last monarchy that remains in the South Pacific that reaches back over a thousand years in an unbroken bloodline 🇹🇴 the British couldn't take us at the height of their power. Every other Polynesian island was colonized by foreign powers. Tonga was never colonized at any given time. But at the end of the day, we Pacific islanders are all one huge family. Same bloodline, different tribes. 💯
Str8 up FACTS Tokoua, my grandfather is from NUKUNUKU village and OTEA island in Vava’u their history shows how “Loto Lahi” our ancestors were. The people of of NUKUNUKU built a trench all around their village and fought against the king of Tonga because the main chief became Christian his name was “Tu’ivakano” but all the other inhabitants of NukuNuku were of the old ways. All 300 were murdered by king Taufa Ahau and his forces. From men to children 🙏🏽.
FIJI Was never invaded by the Tongans, only a few small islands in Lau province but was heavily defeated by a Fijian chief in one of the main islands. Only Samoa was ruled by tonga for 500 years.
Yes this is true. Not all of Fiji was ruled by Tonga. And I’m Tongan. But I find that we don’t have a rivalry. We in fact get on more with Fiji than we do with Samoa though. It is much much better now but for years it was a bit different.
People need to get there history checked because Tu'i tonga only ruled over savaii they never ruled over upolu, manono, and tutuila (samoan islands) i hate when i see tongans saying they ruled over us but dont know which parts.
A Samoan telling the truth based on the facts..it was the same story my ancestors told us and it is easy to believe..now the truth is here where it's all started
nah story is we entertained them at a invited feast, weapons were hidden on the shore and the royal guest and the Tongan King and his royal guards were there. While being entertained and filled there tummies with the most rare delicate food of the pacific ocean. they were soo in awe of the dance and entertainment that the dance became a WAR Dance. being prepared with the weapons hidden in the sand all royal guards were slaughtered but the king and his queen and some royal guest witnessed and heard the king of Tonga yelled out as they flea in their canoes something like " i came in WAR with Samoa!, next time i come will come in peace!"
Lmao, they still hold onto something that is a joke. So nah! Samoa is the true Polynesian, cuz they stayed true to what it was being the first of Polynesians & are the one to hold the real & authentic experience of a Pacific islander til this day. Yessir! 💯🇼🇸🇦🇸🤙🗣🌎
@@filexjane7993 because they're atleast authentic to keeping Samoa traditions alive. Yes Pacific island government is not the best all in general. But they didn't try to copy royalties from others. They made sure Fa'a Samoa was implemented to the understandings of Samoa culture/traditions since before government. That's why Samoa is still rich of its culture & traditions from before. So yeah.
@@MegzLife I don’t think these days we can argue about true authenticity of something especially arguing within the Polynesian fam or even worse the Pacific. From my own perspective, yes the Fa’asamoa is still alive within generations to come but the downfall of it is the cash greed of the chiefs and I don’t think that is of any good, and also most of my diaspora Samoan friends don’t speak Samoan or even the halfcasts in Samoa to start with can’t speak your language. Tongans on another hand, have a better chance of most people using their language. I dont think there is any Polynesian country in the past who did not have a King/Queen in their History. there's even a stone in samoa at the beach the tongans retreated at, the stone is engraved with what the king of tonga was saying to the samoan chiefs and warriors while he was retreating word for word.

Till this day some Tongans think is funny and they cell thim self's the Vikings of the Pacific and they disregard the lives they took.but the Samoan let them keep Thier lives and told them go back home so who deserves the glory
As a Tongan I partially agree with you here EXCEPT for a few pointers: 1. Tu’i Tonga we’re the ones who did this. There were 3 Kings and Empires in Tonga fighting for the one crown. And they just happen be the empire. Yes they were Tongan but it doesn’t mean all of Tonga would have agreed to their rule as well. 2. Yes absolutely! they WERE like Vikings. They literally were. It wasn’t a good thing. The idea of a Viking has been drastically romanticised SO much! I think that’s the part people are getting twisted too. Heaps! Just like the Vikings - Tu’i Tonga had one motive only. And they too didn’t give two fucks either about anybody’s best interests at heart, and not even the other Tongans who did not side with them.
Thanks to our ancestors who fought for our freedom and peace,we their descendents have the honor to live and enjoy the fruits of their hard work and giving back to them by taking pride in our culture and its past and passing them onto the younger generations.Anyways TOKOUSO for life!
We Samoan girl do have big feet but it said that they started fires. And the I'm Samoan but i'm still looking at you like mmm. Different island. And I still love my Tongan family.
Each country have their own story of perspective respectively. We fought Tongans off the island and we still have evidence of where we said farewell to the Tui tonga.
I went to high school in central Auckland back in the early 90s at a predominantly pacific island school. Tongans and Samoans used to play rugby against each other at lunch time and it would often erupt into a brawl, like lions fighting tigers, totally ferocious. They got fine most of the time though.
Iv met many Pacific Islanders but when I met a Tongan and iv met many now they all hold such a powerful presence of harmony and strength almost royal they are the most beautiful people iv ever met on earth till this day unlike Samoans or Māori.
Man get your silly ass on lol. Samoans hold the most weight in the pacific, there’s a reason we’re so well known and respected, we stamped our presence unlike the Tongans etc
Yeah alot of Samoans and tongans married each other so wasn't a suprise the traitors where eaten by the malietoa kings but then it all stopped when malietoa son sacrificed himself
It's because of the intermarriages that happened. Many of the Samoan nobole women at the time married Tongan Royalty in order to strengthen ties. Tongan women were sent to Fiji to marry their royal and noblemen for the same reason. That being said, it was a conflict as to which side many of the Samoans would fight for. Plus, after blood conflict and many years of war when Tonga ruled in Samoa, over time the Samoans were actually treated better by the Tongan rulers than their own chiefs, which is why Tonga lasted so long there. It started cruel and became more diplomatic over time, but then became cruel and tyrannical again toward the end of the 450 years of rule over Samoa, and finally, the cruel Tongan king Tu'i Talakaifaiki was the last straw, and the Malietoa twins tuna and fata led the Samoan rebellion that freed them.
@@krzylocloc6945 only when Tui Tonga Talakaifaiki came into power before Tuu Tonga Talakaifaiki the previous Tui Tongas would have a peaceful relationship with occupied and unoccupied areas it was only 1 Tui Tonga who abused his power which lead to war

There is a Tongan side to the story. Even though I'm Samoan, I've heard the oral history some Tongans were told. Apparently, there was no head to head war. Instead, Samoa ambushed the visiting Tongans in the middle of the night. The sleeping Tongans were slaughtered in their sleep.

When the Tongans came to attack Samoa the second time, they wanted to make sure they succeeded this time after what happened in Tutuila island some years ago in what they now called American Samoa. So they brought more warriors and besides they knew and learned that there are 3 powerful kingdoms in the island of Upolu. So,instead of attacking Upolu island which is closer to Tonga, they went past Upolu, manono and Apolima islands and went around Savai'i island and attacked the northern part of Savai'i island where hardly any Samoan lived, and they settled illegally at the place called Safotu. We learned about these Tongan's plan from those poor Tongans who were taken as prisoners after the war. Those prisoners told their Samoan masters that Tongans had a plan to bypass Upolu island, because it was too risky. So,some men from Savai'i took their boat and went sraight to the Tuamasaga kingdom, because Tuamasaga was the most powerful kingdom at the time. And told them about a big fleet of Tongan warships at the northern side of Savai'i and they are illegally occupying Safotu. 6 Malietoa brothers and their nephew Ulumasui went to Savai'i to find out if it was true. They didn't attack the Tongans because it was definitely a lot of them but went back to Upolu. They came up with a plan, with the help of the Tongan king's family in Upolu and they set a trap. War broke out,and the poor Tongans were being slaughtered, they were running everywhere and it was brutal. You people mentioned something like the brutality of the Tongan warriors towards our Samoan people during that war the Samoans called"The freeing of the northern side of Savai'i from the Tongan".But that is not what our ancestors told us,they told us a very different stories, compared to what you are telling us here in your video. And you have to believe what our ancestors told us, Why? because our ancestors were there, doing the killing. You were not there. Our ancestors told us,they haven't seen anything like this before. The Tongan warriors cried like babies, when they are caught they behaved and cried like little children. These strange behaviours was noticed during and after the war.Samoans either laughed at them, or hated them. And this was the origin of the Samoan word called"fa'aToga".Fa'a-Toga means the cry for mercy of a Tongan warrior, or begging for mercy from a Tonga warrior. They make all these weird gestures begging their Samoan masters to spare their lives. Our ancestors told us,that it was so pathetic that these big men would cried like that. And you are telling us that they were brutal.Makes me laugh.

are you on crack, cook islanders or lalotonga were quarry slaves for the tongans, your asses were one of the first ones the tongans smashed in ancient times as the Ha'amonga stones and other large stones were brought to Tonga by the cook islanders as slaves of the tongans, as for Tahiti, the tongans held many of the islands in tahiti as forts, the tahitians never tried any shit with the tongans because each time they did, they got their assses handed to them, Bora Bora is one of the ancient forts the tongans held in that region and they called it Vava'u in ancient times, named after Vava'u island in Tonga, as for Hawaii, maybe ask the Hawaiians as they talk alot about the tongans in their history although the samoans like to claim it is they who were respected by the Hawaiians even though they don't talk about the samoans as much as they do the tongans and the close relations from ancient times, so go and do some proper research before you embarrass yourself some more.
