The last guy Salman Butt. Who juggled the ball 5-6 times was actually banned for life for Match Fixing after getting caught doing it in England.

The charges were brought on for different proofs... This MAY have been one of those moments, but mostly its because of the money being traced to the players... And yes, up until just a few years back, match fixing was a theme... Because u can bet on quite a lot of things in cricket, many people started organizing illegal betting rooms, and recruiting players to do certain things to make them win bets... And the players would then get a certain commission from those bets... Its kinda like underground casinos, or illegal poker games...

Contextually the South African drop from celebrating is by far the worst. It was a World Cup semi-final that Australia went on to tie but made it through on percentage. They then won the final. This is the beginning of the "South Africa are chokers" tag. Great vid fellas

That Herschell Gibbs dropped catched (celebrating too early) - I'm sure that was in the world cup and South Africa had the chance to knock Aussie out. The batter was Steve Waugh (the Aussie captain) who then walked up to him and asked 'hows it feel to drop the world cup' - Australia went on to win in a nail biter and went on to win the Cup

The Pakistan team is generally famous for having the worst fielding at the highest level... but the Pakistan team over the years is also the one most famous for match fixing... particularly in the era of these cathes.. the last one in the video is from a series where some players, including the bowler of that ball, were caught for fixing.. hence the framing of the blurb before the clip.

Fixing is not really common but in 2010 five Pakistani players got banned for fixing for throwing many consecutive no balls

9:23 that's Jofra Archer, he was the one bowling. To put this in context, as a bowler, when a catch off my bowling was dropped my initial reaction would be slightly angry frustration, before remembering to applaud the efforts. For the bowler to laughing at dropped catch off their own bowling shows how comedically woeful that drop was 😂

I was gonna comment that Shoib Malik was a decent fielder(considering Pakistani standards) and it was Ajmal's fault but then in the next clip they showed another (more embarrassing) drop catch by him. 😂😂😂

6:10 keeper and slip positions are specialised position they practice these types of catches a lot when you field in these positions you are expecting the ball coming to you every single time which is quite hard tbh thats why only the best fielder fields their he's been lazy their you can see his hands are coming when the ball is already gone

Mostly the particular moment of the match is fixed, it's tough to fix the whole match. Like some loose balls thrown intentionally or dropping a few numbers of catches.

Pakistani fielding has been notoriously dodgy for decades, to the point where it's a meme, and I have no idea why they haven't fixed it.

If u know paxtans few decades of history and their basis of split from United India... they have huge egos n complexes They're ideologically lazy n their whole existence is based on the destruction of Hindus/India Their hatred for Hindus/non muslims/India back in the day is what fuelled their rage n victories especially against India! I don't know of a specific equivalent term for a pop fly - cricketers usually just say it was hit straight up. Number 4, the one Herschelle Gibbs dropped by starting to celebrate, was in the ODI World Cup, and one of the batters famously called out to him "Mate - you just dropped the world cup!" There have been problems over the years with match fixing - including with the player that fumbled that catch, who was later banned from playing.

I don’t believe fixing happens often. Yes the player that was mentioned in the video he did fixing and was punished accordingly. But fixing happens often is just a conspiracy theory pf people who don’t want to understand how the game works.

Many players have got caught in match fixing in national or international cricket and has either served a few years or life ban for it. Big businessman, bureaucrats, don and betting mafia were involved in match fixing many years ago. Betting mafia and businessman are still involved but their working is not the same. You can read on wiki. New players earning less wages are still involved in fixing to earn money, but some have got banned after getting caught and proven guilty. Shame is a worse thing for any player. Nobody supports or likes such players when they get exposed. So, match fixing is not at the same level as before. Now it's all about taking advantage of a situation and authority rather than fixing, more like they try to show fans what they want to earn more money from it, just like any other entertainment business. Betting mafia is still in cahoots with the big leaders in cricket and businessman/investors have been doing betting openly in some countires. Betting and fixing for me are two very different things, but sometimes they might overlap. Though, I don't think fixing is that common anymore, at an international level atleast. And betting mafia works in every game but I don't think they are writing script of matches like they do in WWE. It's not on the same level. Though I would like to add that when you see players like Maxwell playing in pain and stress, crawling, walking instead of running for chasing 270 runs as last standing batsman, or when you see players like Yuvraj playing world cup while vomiting blood and knowing he is suffering from cancer, or watching Sachin or any other great players of the cricket who have gone many surgeries but still playing on the field for the love of cricket/sports since young age, you can't say that every players can be bought by money. Only those fools who play sports only for fame has that issue. So, I don't believe that cricket is fixed.

Secondly, that’s interesting I didn’t know that about the ties of the mafia and such in the earlier parts of the game and even to now at some extent. We know it was like that with US sports but didn’t know y’all had similar situations. And absolutely there are people that play for the love of the game and to leave a legacy. Those are the ones that are special

You said the bulk of the error is on 6? Are you crazy? The other guy made the move to catch the ball, stooped down, had his hands in position. The other guy was standing up straight leaving the catch to him because he saw him get into position to catch the ball. Then at the last second dude just lets the ball go and signals like he is leaving the ball to 6. No you cannot do that. If you give the impression you're going to take the catch, you cannot just change your mind when the ball reaches 1 metre away from the ground.

It’s definitely on both. There should be communication between both players which there obviously was not. And if you decided you weren’t going to make an attempt at catching the ball then you should move out of the way. He saw him in his peripheral and that caused him to hesitate and lose track of the ball.

There's no beef as u yanks say against the Pakistani players, they are known in world cricket to have the worse fielders. Australia are known to be the best fielders in world cricket. Also i believe the ICC & Umpires do change the game after a major incident. Bairstow run out in the Ashes was a right decision but most Poms decided it was "against the spirit of the game" but if it was them they'd do exactly the same even if they said they would coz they've done it in prior Ashes series. In the 5th test the umpires changed the ball which wasn't outta shape with Australia looking at victory & changed it to a harder earlier ball which there's a great interview with Uzzie & Patty where Uzzie talks about that incident on the NRL show with two former NRL players (that played for NSW & Australia with Fletch who played for Roosters & Hindy who played for Parra) on the Matty Johns show on Fox Sports in Australia. I believe coz of the major issues after the Bairstow run out the umpires were told to give the Poms the win in the 5th test....happens quite often especially in test cricket eg India

You might not read this but well, I give it a go anyways To be fair, the term "Match fixing" is pretty much overused and a term used to cope by the opposing teams especially when they're bitter enemies both politically or in the sport. During the India vs Afghanistan this T20 world cup where India took the dub, the Pakistani people (though they didn't have any part of it, but since both India and Pakistan are political enemies, the people from both side dont really have anything nice to say to each other) claimed that India had that match fixed and the Afghanis accepted the offer as they apparently wanted to continue playing the IPLs? Though genuine Match fixers happen once in a while just like in the Case with the Indian cricketer named Sreeshanth in 2013 where the Delhi Police had arrested him cause of it. Sreesanth was one of the three Rajasthan Royals players to be banned from cricket for his involvement in the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal. There are multiple other examples which were proven to have fixed matches but if I mention all, it'd be a problem. And to be fair, that 2013 time was a big deal and a shock for the Indian cricket team, ever since then, People grew skeptical for every matches which have had surprising victories. Most of the times, unnecessarily or as a measure of Cope.

That's interesting and as to be expected as well. It is definitely something among all sports that people will use cheating or fixing as a reason for losing. Definitely is a coping mechanism. It is crazy how those accusations do affect the team especially since the sport is played internationally and their are other reasons outside of sports not to like a team.

Notice how everyone saying Pakistan have the worst fielders in cricket here is Indian. Quite obvious that it's a beef as you said in the video. They are Pakistan's arch-rivals and love spending their whole day in obsession with Pakistan just like this video you reacted to shows. I can show you just as worse dropped catches from Indian fielders but there was no way this video was going to have as many of them.
