Tom Walker is a comedian, his character Jonathan Pie is a TV reporter who rants to his producer between recordings or live takes. He’s got so good at switching roles that he now does it almost seamlessly. Take a look through his back catalogue at some of his earlier videos to get an idea of how his presentation has evolved.

No he just knows his audience. Truss didn't fuck the markets, they forced HER to quit. She didn't even get to implement her plans. They didn't like them and chose to spike. People thinking it was some organic "hands free" reaction to bad policies and not the financial powers that be actively spitting their dummy out, don't understand economics.

His rants are meant to be what he - as a news reporter - really thinks of things when a channel is running a recorded video tape segment during the news - hence the polite and professional introduction, the rant during the tape to his cameraman/director, and professionally finishing the piece to camera at the end. Very, very scathing and funny.

Someone has probably mentioned this - Jonathan Pie is a made up character of a news reporter and the actor / comedian who is playing him (and the creator) is Tom Walker. He has also done a few live UK Tours of Jonathan Pie on stage, which have been absolutely excellent and extremely funny.

I remember hearing this rant from Jonathon Pie just DAYS after Liz Truss resigned - OH MY GOD, the CATHARSIS! He's brilliant - definitely worth a subscription. He rants on ANYONE who deserves it, no matter what side of the government they're on. And yes, he is a creative genius when it comes to insults.

I disagree. I think he is very funny, but it's just his comedy opinion. He doesn't speak for the nation. For example; he was against Brexit and that was what the majority wanted. Hence the landslide election win for the guy who promised to deliver Brexit.

Jonathan Pie is a fictional news reporter, played by actor Tom Walker. He plays the role as an angry reporter with largely left wing views and does a brilliant commentary on the state of British and sometimes American politics. I have seen him live and he is fantastic. I definitely recommend subscribing to his channel, although some of the rants may not mean too much, unless you know the British politicians and events he rants about.

The thing is about the character is that he criticizes his own side when they get it wrong, so he is true to his beliefs but his own side sometimes hate him for calling them out when they do get it wrong. His stand up shows are great.

Great Reaction to a hilarious comedian. As a Conservative, I would have lost a great deal of money(which I haven't got) betting against Liz Truss winning as who was she going to appeal to? Not Men and, definitely, not Women either.I said the current PM: Rishi Sunak will steady the ship and weed out the xxxxx and keep a low profile for the first year and when the ship has steadied he will then think about winning a second term which is a long way off. I have watched Politicians since Wilson in 1964 and Rishi WILL win the next election. Laugh now,naturally but as a Professional Gambler and Bookmaker since 1981, we'll see in a couple of years, which is an eternity in Politics.

Johnathan Pie, like Al Murray Pub Landlord, is a character. He is a news reporter who has rants to his team (oftren Tim the producer) inbetween takes. He is one of my favourite comedians- currently on a Uk tour (2023/24). I feel he often says what many UK citizens are thinking and there are some real truths in his satire. I always look forward to his next You Tube rant, though you never know when that will be!!

Look up Philomena Cunk, a character played by comedian Diane Morgan (also on “After Life” with Ricky Gervais). “Cunk” narrates a series of BBC-style mockumentaries with a deadpan dimwitted seriousness that is pure comedy, genius writing throughout. She supposedly interviews real people in their respective fields (Shakespeare scholars, etc) and, assuming they’re in on the joke, stay in character. (If they’re not in on the joke, that’s even better!) One line from her Shakespeare episode (paraphrasing): “School was easier in Shakespeare’s time, because he didn’t have to study Shakespeare.”
