Here a bit of 9Muses lineup history, Figaro was their first formal comeback (they made a ""comeback"" with Ladies but they were just performances) They were 9 members at the beginning but in 2010 they lost 3 members (Jaekyung at 1 MONTH from their debut, RaNa the Leader and Bini within 6 months of debut) and they added 1 new member to supplant Jaekyung but she ended up supplanting 3 members (Moon Hyuna), they were planning to change the name to "Sweet Candy" since the name "Nine Muses" would confuse the public because "Why is it called Nine Muses if there are only 7 members? " but Star Empire decided to add 2 more members in the future, in News and Ticket they added 1 new member (Park Kyungri) and for their comeback in 2013 "Dolls" they added the last member (for that year) Son Sungah, but in 2014 they lost another 3 Members (The Leader Ryu Sera, The Leader Rapper Park Eunji and a sub rapper vocalist Lee Sem), in 2015 they added 2 new members (Lee Keumjo and Jo Sojin) and S. E said that "The love of the fans make the 9th Muse of the group" (clearly an attempt to not want to add another member lol), Later in 2016 they lost another 3 Members (The Visual and Maknae Park Minha, The Lead Rapper and lead dancer Euaerine and lead vocalist Moon Hyuna) Sungah go into a Hiatus and the remaining 4 members made the Sub Unit 9Muses "A Muse" or simply 9Muses A (later made up the final lineup of 9Muses) and S. E again said "The Name 9Muses is in honor of the 9 Former Members" so as not to change the name or add new members, finally in 2019 the group disbanded after a Show with the 2015 OT8 members.

I use to listen to these songs all the time back in 2012. They are from my favorite 9muses mini album. Sweet Rendezvous.

Finally Nine Muses here!! Thanks for react them!! A brief background about the group: There is a heartbreaking BBC documentary called ''Nine Muses of Star Empire (2012)'' where it shows the process of creating the group and all the psychological abuses they went through during that time... it's really something hard to watch, the way how they treated these girls and how the industry works is something very cruel. I really have respect for these girls, they've been pass through a lot over the years... Nine Muses was a group that was highly anticipated by the Korean public, all 9 members were worked as top models but things went very wrong right after their debut, their peformance with their debut song ''No Playboy'' was massacred by the public and critics (in my honest opinion is not such a bad song). Much was said about the number of members, which were 9, a problem for the time that had Girls Generation as one of the leaders of the generation and also has 9 members. While the group experienced modest success, they failed to achieve top-tier popularity. They are known by the second generation kpop fan community as the most underrated group of them all, they are part of a select group of girl groups such as Rainbow, Dal Shabet, Spica, Fiestar for having "all of the conditions for success" but none of the luck of more popular groups. But nine muses' songs always maintained a lot of quality, mainly in terms of production, vocals and instrumentals, and in my opinion they had one of the best rap lines of the second generation. They have always worked very hard, one such example is in 2013 where they made an incredible number of 4 comebacks during the year. The normal for a group at that time was somewhere between two to three comebacks a year. If I could suggest some songs for a new reaction (or just for listening) it would be: No Playboy (their debut song, only for the context), Dolls (the song that came closest to making them successful), Wild (2013) and Hurt Locker (2015) (these last two had insane instrumentals and vocals!

Editor Xynx! That was fun! I have to agree again too, Ticket is my favourite out of those three, super catchy with great choreo. 2012 was when I first started listening to Kpop, so my by-year playlists are getting longer. EXO, Nu’est and BTOB all debuted in 2012, and 2 of those groups are still around - BTOB recently had a comeback, and EXO has put out a pre-release for their comeback. Both groups are well known for their vocals. We also had Girls’ Generation-TTS subunit and Apink (Apink is also still around!). I also listened to a lot of U-Kiss, Teen Top, Beast (now Highlight) and Super Junior at the time. (Highlight and Suju are still active, and both U-Kiss and Teen Top say they are doing comebacks this year. My nostalgia is at an all time high, I really want to love their new songs.) You said you liked the surprise, so maybe this isn’t the way to go, but HallyU did make a series of compilation videos that have clips of releases by year. That might help you target songs you are interested in that you haven’t gotten any recommendations for, especially in the years you’ve mostly covered for 2nd gen already. Kville is an active channel that compiles clips of new songs that come out each week and has compilations of recommendations from their discord server members (of which I am not one, not tooting my own horn, lol) which can be really interesting because those are not limited to title tracks. (I know technically I’ve snuck some non-title-track songs in my recommendations for you, but I try to mostly stick to tracks that have mvs because I feel like when you are trying to introduce a group, those have a greater impact.) The Kville ones come with the added bonus for surprise factor that you don’t really need to watch the video - you could just open and pause it, and then scan down the list of songs they put in the description for ideas. Kpop is just so vast!
