I LOVE TVXQ! MIROTIC is one of my favorites! They are amazing! They are known as the Emperors/Gods of KPop depending on who you ask (Vs BigBang Kings and Shinee Princes) since they were one of the first that helped Kpop spread outside of Korea. Max Changmin is in my Ult Bias Line. His vocals are INSANE! Thank you for this reaction and welcome to Gen 2 one of the best generations of KPop in my opinion. Gen 2 forward only gets better and better.

@@xynxreacts Max is a PHENOMENAL singer. He has a very successful solo career but he didn't debut as a soloist until Gen 3 with a Japanese Mini Album though technically he didn't release his first official full solo album until 2020. Devil, Fever and Chocolate are my favorites you should check out if you check out his solo stuff.

Experimental kpop sound is kind of common SM style: H.O.T- iyah, warrior descendant SHINHWA - yo TVXQ - triangle, rising sun, O SuJu - twins, don't don SHINee - lucifer, ring ding dong SNSD - i got a boy f(X) - Nu Abo, red light and whole discography NCT simon says, sticker Aespa next level, savage

TVXQ were the kings of harmony back in the day, technically they're still good at it, but it's not the same with two as it was with five. The group split up shortly after Mirotic. Two of my favourites for them are Bolero (which is really good live with all 5 of them) and Wrong Number. They were the second group I got into after Big Bang.

So glad that you are checking out this group! And also going chronologically 👍🏻 TVXQ was my first introduction to KPOP back then. Their Japanese discography is super good as well. They are known for vocals, harmonization and acapella. I recommend “Love in the ice” - they have both Korean and Japanese versions. - also recommend songs “Always there” and “whatever they say” One of the rare groups where all members could be main vocal!

Here is some background to help you understand the dynamics of TVXQ better. TVXQ (English and Chinese)/DBSK (Korean)/ Tohoshinki (Japanese), which each are the abbreviations/acronyms of the words in each language that translates to mean "Rising Gods of the East," debuted in 2003 as a 5 member group. But, in 2010 three of their members left SM Entertainment and the group and formed a new group called JYJ -- the initials of the members: Junsu, Yoochun and Jaejoong. (Up until recently, JYJ was still a group and they still produce music, but because they left SM Entertainment -- one of the most powerful and influential companies in the industry -- on less than ideal terms, it has made it more difficult for them to promote themselves and their music. So the members of JYJ are more known as actors and producers than they are as singers now.) However, Max/Changmin and U-Know/Yunho continued as TVXQ as a duo. The day after Christmas will be TVXQ/DBSK/Tohoshinki's 19th anniversary, and even now as a duo they are so talented that they have the vocal range to cover all the parts of a song between the two of them, including rap. "Rising Sun" came out in 2005 about a month before Super Junior debuted with their song "Twins (Knock Out)" so, as you can see, the hard rock, grunge vibe was just the style of music that SM and the Kpop industry was doing at that time. In the MV for "Mirotic" the woman is supposed to be a siren, like from Greek mythology, and she is supposed to be tempting and trapping or luring the TVXQ members to her. Like they say in the song "... I got you under my skin ..." But in the end you see how the members have broke free from her control. (Often in Greek mythology the siren, through her intoxicating love powers, lures guys to their deaths.) Also, you should know, that the "red ocean" they are referring to in the song has a double meaning -- TVXQ's fandom is Cassiopeia and their fan color is red, so when you attend a TVXQ concert you will see an ocean of red. Welcome to the Cassiopeia fandom. If you like TVXQ then you are a Cassi. "Mirotic is a made up word that really has no meaning, but it is derived from a play on the word mirror + otic -- the title was originally supposed to be something like mirror but they thought the word sounded better if you added otic to the end of it, (it made it sound cooler, or something.) Think of it as the words mirror and exotic combined -- that's just how you pronounce the title, not the meaning of the word. "Mirotic," is a classic in the Kpop world and every new rookie group -- both boy groups and girl groups -- learn this song and choreography and almost every rookie has performed it on music programs, award shows, at showcases, etc. at least once in their career. This song, like SHINee's "Ring Ding Dong," Girls Generation's "Gee" and Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry," etc. is pretty much compulsory for everyone in the entertainment industry to know and learn the song and dance to, no matter how young or old they are. Yes, TVXQ truly are all-time legends in the music industry. As an SM Entertainment group, it is no surprise that TVXQ are outstanding vocalists. Being some of the best dancers and vocalists in the industry is what we have come to expect from all of SM's artists and groups. That's just a fact about the type of people SM selects to be a part of its company. Changmin (the youngest member) was 15 and U-Know was 17 years old when they debuted with "Hug", so even though they are one of the senior Kpop groups, Changmin is only 34 and U-know is 36. TVXQ is SM's most senior group that is still active, but U-Know and Changmin are still younger than, or the same age as, many of the members of the legendary groups who came after them within their generation. They are best friends with Super Junior and they pretty much all grew up together. Changmin -- the one with the cat in "Hug" -- is known for his powerful high notes (even more powerful than Onew or Jonghyun from SHINee or Chen and Baekhyun from EXO), he literally has one of the widest note ranges of almost any Kpop artist. In a high note battle he always wins. He is best friends with Kyuhyun from Super Junior and Minho from SHINee. Xiumin from EXO is such a big fanboy of his that he says TVXQ is the reason why he wanted to audition for SM. (Fun fact: Changmin got married in 2020 and he just became a father to a boy in October.) U-Know is known for his dancing and his passion for dancing and singing. It might be hard to believe, but he is also the rapper of the group. (U-Know truly loves what he does and doesn't hide it. He will tell you he is proud of his accomplishments and he is proud of his work. His passion is kind of a running joke within the industry. Its one of the things he is most known for.) The funny thing is personality-wise, Changmin and U-Know are complete opposites in almost every way. Changmin is quiet, calm and level headed and prefers to spend time alone; and U-Know is loud, high energy, intense and prefers to spend time with a group of people. Tohoshinki (TVXQ) are one of the most famous singers in Japan as well, even among Japanese artists. And like SHINee, they are so popular in Japan that they are considered part of the mainstream music scene. TVXQ has one of the biggest worldwide fan bases and they sell out some of the largest concert venues in the world. They are SM Entertainment's top selling group, easily selling out concert tours around the world.

Since i saw you commenting that everyone seems so mention Max - my all time favourite is Xiah/ Junsu!!!! He honestly has one of the best Voices in Kpop ever and is still active as a Soloist and very sucessfull in Musicals! He had a huge impact on Korean Musicals, in making it popular and is known for selling out his performances in seconds, ehich for Musicals is very huge.

My guy you gotta check out one of their Keep Your Head Down performances (their circle concert welcome in Seoul one is 🔥 in case you're interested). I swear whenever that song comes on I can feel it in my soul, the sheer power in it it really does their king titles justice. It's a song w only the two remaining members but the authority they emit is so intense you wouldn't ever know they had members that left. Yunho (U-know) and Changmin (Max) proved that groups don't have to die off due to lineup changes, if anything, they can come back stronger.

@lumaaraujo
@lumaaraujo Год назад
@@xynxreacts You can't unhear that fanchant. Mirotic was extremely popular when it came out, it's a legendary song. Fun fact, Mirotic was considered too sexy back them and it was censored, they had to make a more friendlier version where they changed "under my skin" to "under my sky". TVXQ aka Tohoshinki aka Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK) aka Gods Of The East aka Kings of Asia are considered the first group from second gen because they literally changed the industry. They revived the culture of buying physical albums, basically revived SM too - their most famous groups were either disbanded (H.O.T. and S.E.S.) or left the company (Shinhwa) and BoA was focused on Japan. When the JYJ trio left, they sued SM for what is now called a slave contract, it was an absurd long (13 years!!) contract with unfair money distribution, that ended up creating a new law forbidden contracts longer than 7 years (which is still very long). TVXQ is still active as duo and are still extremely popular in Japan (along with BoA). Since kpop was getting more popular, that was an influx of groups, so moving forward the number of artists will keep on increasing. Second gen is known as the golden generation of kpop and they started a lot of things that made kpop what it is today like groups with large number of members, foreign members, subunits, lightsticks, photocards, etc. They also increased the success of things first gen started like: - International success: H.O.T. and NRG started with China and Taiwan and BoA with Japan, but second gen really blew up in Asia and started to spread outside of Asia too - Variety shows: I mentioned before that g.o.d. were the firsts and Shinhwa were also extremely popular on variety shows (they are insane hahahaha), but second gen were always guesting in shows even started hosting them, which made them be very well liked by the general public and also gave more recognition to members outside of the group image
