Today I took a quiz on Essex slang with my friend Fabulous Hannah. I thought it'd be easy...
Hannah's video: • SWAPPING CHILDHOOD FOO...

Thank you so much for watching! Hope you enjoyed it!
If you're new to my channel and videos, hi! I'm Evan Edinger, and I make weekly "comedy" videos every Sunday evening. As an American living in London I love noticing the funny differences between the cultures and one of my most popular video series is my British VS American one. I'm also known for making terrible puns so sorry in advance. Hope to see you around, and I'll see you next Sunday! :)

you guys, I'd like to point out that EVAN spelled it phonetically when he edited the text in, she didn't spell it that way, he did. If you watch the old BBC show "Are You Being Served" part of what made it work so well was the cross culturalism of the characters. The janitor (one of them) I now know is clearly from Essex. the TH replaced with a V or an F is that considered slang or dialect? it gets confusing because "cool" (as meant for ok, or popular; as opposed to temperature) used to be slang, but It's so common now that it's probably an official alternate meaning and not slang anymore. BUT if she's from there, and considers it to be slang, then it probably is

Outside the really easy ones I only got Score - because it's in the Gettysburg Speech (studied GCSE History and my third option was American West)

I think they do. It should be called pronunciation not slang for this video, coz she had around 2 actual slang words in the video, one of them wasn't even an Essex slang word (butters), it's normal all over south England tbh..

OMG EVEN! I can't tell you how many of these slang terms we still use in the south. It just goes to show how we have kept some of our haritage through speech. Sadly, in my area(Virginia) alot of the slang and older terms that got past down aren't being used or are being forgotten because of the younger generation. I want to make a book or videos or something to document and keep these sayings and other things from disappearing. Thank You for doing these pronunciations/slang videos. ✌ Also, Thanks for featuring my comment in your video two weeks ago. Sorry for the bad grammer, I was typing fast and forgot to proofread. 😄

Feel like most of North Kent and into Bromley has this accent or similar. It's only once you cross to Croydon that it changes.

You should do a video on fireworks night/ Guy Fawkes night and your reaction to it when you first experienced it when you moved to the UK.

So many people in London speak exactly like her. Like it’s an Essex accent but loads of people in London sound just like this.
