Hi, to make it clear we often call normal sparkling water "soda". I dont know how do you call sparkling water in USA but we mostly call it soda and "soda" is very popular in Slovakia. Hi from Slovakia

I honestly totally agree with the 10 Euro penalty for not finishing. Take all you want, but eat all you take. That way no food is literally thrown in the garbage.

As a Slovak I was confused about the "soda" thingy when I heard Americans say it, but for a different reason than you. As mentioned by some people already, we do call only one beverage soda - the sparkling water, so when I saw for example Pepsi being called soda, I was super confused 😄

No metter that the real and the only correct name is Zelňačka" - it comes from the Czech word "zelí" which mean cabbage. To make you aware Naturow, almost all the food in the video is NOT Slovak origin - but widelly eaten in Slovakia - including thgose original Czech ones: fried cheese, fried liver, fried whatever.. Knedla - correct name Knedlík - it means dumpling - that means a slice of dumpling in real - bfread dumplings, potatoe dumplings and Karlovarský (Carlsbaderú dumpling cabbage soup - saurkratut (= saur cabbge) Czech style, cutted sausage, seasonings - mainly paprika, salt peper. potatoes

NO WAY ANOTHER VIDEO WITH PPPETER I love your reactions :) btw i love sauerkraut :D i think you should try it also in my family and pretty much all the other families i know put tartar sauce on cauliflower or the fried cheese or schnitzel (in slovakia called rezeň) the segedínsky guláš even tho it sounds hungarian as Peter explained it in his video it is speculated that it originates from Vienna the capital city of Austria also i noticed you dont have braces now

Well it's all you can eat, not all you can put on a plate and leave it there uneaten (to be thrown away) 😄 The penalty makes sense. And it's double the amount of the entry price, an effective way to avoid food waste. Liver has a very specific taste and texture. It's usually served in school cafeterias because it's rich in nutrients. And usually served with tarhoňa and some sort of a sauce. I'm not a fan of either 🤣 Soda generally means sparkling water in Slovakia and Czechia. Saying "sparkling water" is way too long, lol.

Sauerkraut ( translation: sour cabage) is also a traditional food in Germany and Austria often served with meat, sauce and in the south of Germany and Austria also often with ( potatoe) dumplings ( Knödel). Thats the traditional way to eat it and yes, you should try it. :) I think you can compare Sauerkraut to Kimchi in a way. As far as I know it was eaten back in the day to provide people with vitamins during the winters months, when there were no fresh vegetables available.

Sour cabbage as an ingredient can be found from Netherlands to Azerbaijan, from Estonia to Croatia and everywhere in between. You can find it in Korea, Chile or U.S.A., but it originated in China. However eating it raw is typically a Slavic thing to do. Wherever there is vodka you can expect to find pickled cucumbers or pickled herring or sour cabbage as a chaser.
