17:18: shows an extremely rare (one-of-a-kind) red-white-blue Union Pacific E3B unit. Never seen or mentioned in books, but it has the CITY OF SAN FRANCISCO banner on it.

Not true. Today, the railroads carry more ton-miles of freight than they ever did during the 1940s and the 1950s.
