As an Alaskan, that Yukon round was instant recognition! The tall spindly black trees are white or black spruce, a sign of boggy soil. They also burn *very* easily.

In Geography Now's special on the Canadian provinces, someone wrote something like "Maritime Provinces=New England, Quebec=Louisiana (or maybe the former Acadia regions of Maine where the Cajuns orginated), Ontario=New York or maybe Illinois (Toronto is a lot more similar to Chicago geographically), Manitoba=Minnesota, Saskatchewan=North Dakota, Alberta=Montana or maybe Texas (historic dependence on cattle ranching and oil, perhaps the most conservative province), British Columba=Washington State or maybe California (kind of a hippie vibe, actually has some surfing beaches on Vancouver Island's west coast), Yukon=Alaska. Not sure what the best US equivalents for the Northwest Territories and Nunavut are. Maybe Alaska's North Slope?

I found out about these types of trees through Geoguessr and instantly fell in love with them. They're what led me to begin planning a move to the Yukon territory.

A good tip for PEI (aside from the red soil) are that the vast majority of poles have a small thin rectugal white sticker on them. You can see them well in the first two PEI rounds you got. Great job, as usual! Your videos are always great. And another Canada episode would be awesome! Sincerely, an Islander

I live in Washington and the two BC rounds I immediately screamed out Washington which made me confident both were BC once I remembered you were playing Canada only 😂. I love Canada. Such a beautiful country. This video makes me really want to see eastern Canada like PEI and Nova Scotia. Looks gorgeous over there.

I live in WA as well, been to Vancouver BC once but it's pretty incredible how similar our geography is with BC. Gotta explore it more

Happy New Year! Do you think you'll try your luck in Australia at some point? It's kinda similar to Canada in that it consists of a relatively small number of large states (yes, they call them states, not provinces); obviously the climate is not so similar. EDIT: Guess you already did Australia.

Yeah did a bit of Australia guessing with Zigzag, I'll def try it again sometime though!

In Quebec, if you are looking at poles, the top insulator is usually mounted sideways. Other provinces don't do that.

5:19 here you can see the sask poles. The poles have one insulator one each side and the middle insulator alternates from one side to the other from pole to pole.

My best is only 8, and that came in a run that had 6 easy to recognize rounds. So a 4 streak, pretty decent. Newfie is the hardest one for me, because it looks like left over parts of 7 other Provinces were just merged together into 1 place.

I suck at Geoguessr, but as soon as I saw New Brunswick, I could tell that it was. I don't know how, maybe it's just the vibe it gives.

Front plates: BC, ON, MB. NB had then until 2009. First round couldn’t be sask due to front plate

I live in New Brunswick and in 2009 we had front plates. It was in 2019 that they were no longer required.

I think you did very well here. The only real distinct looking places in Canada are the badland and mountainous regions of Alberta, the mountainous areas of BC, and the northern rain forest areas of Vancouver Island and Western BC. Everything else looks very similar and is very tough to guess.

New Brunswick does and doesn't have front plates. In gen 3, you are very likely to see front plates. In gen 4, many cars do not. Some may still though

Just a tip, if it looks like newfoundland but has roads that arent falling apart and double yellow line on a 2 lane highway then it isnt newfoundland lol prob nova scotia

Ive traveled all over the country. New it was sask right from the get go just from how shitty the roads are. Good rule of thumb for geoguess if its in canadian prairies and the roads are horrible its probably sask
