Would love to see a video about Herrenchiemsee! Been there once on holiday and would love to see it again! Only recently discovered your channel, and love it! I've lost my heart to the Bavarian Alps, miss it very much. Your video's make me miss it a little less 😉

Hey Ben and Camille, wow, we have never heard of this place, there’s a new place for the list!!!! We need to visit there. We’re with you!! Steam engine, gorgeous ferry (we’d be outside with you), and Ben, as far as we’re concerned….you ARE a salty sea dog!!! Ok, so the Gluhwein looks good but we’re loving the cat in a hat mug. Apple Gluhwein…sounds good!!! That bread looks amazing, with the schnapps to follow. Never really been into schnapps but you’ve sold it to us!! Loving the old map print, that’s the kind of thing we’d buy. Yep, we’d love to see the palace video. The abbey looks gorgeous and love the story behind the naming of the island. Like you, we are in no way religious but have a huge respect for the stories and the architecture, especial old churches and that looks amazing. This video just got even better - that cat!!!! We need to visit this island, winter or out of season. We absolutely loved that both, and ‘House’….that’s our line complete on Near From Home bingo!!! 🍻

You were unlucky. If it is clear and Sunniten, you can see the alps. In addition: the bigger Island is also worth a Visitenkarte because of the beautiful castle. In my youth I used to sail to Island and bought me some smoked fish or marzipan.

Beautiful! i didn't know about this christmas market (I live in Munich). The title is quite misleading. The Fraueninsel has nothing to do with Munich christmas markets. I fear Munich visitors will be very disappointed when they discover that this is not in Munich. However, I am sure this is well worth the visit. I have only been to the Fraueninsel once. But that was in spring a couple of years back.

Yeah, I mean it definitely is a good day trip from Munich and we do showcase the full logistics. The unfortunate truth is though, Munich is an incredibly powerful keyword to the algorithm and on the whole people much prefer clicking on videos that have something they recognise. Even when they are looking for new things, people prefer what they know. So we chose to use Munich as a way to frame this video. A little deceptive? I wouldn’t exactly say so. But these videos are an awful lot of work for the title and thumbnail to spoil the show :)

I just got back from visiting the UK a couple of days ago, and to be frank, the difference is stark. Bamberg is a beautiful little town, we did two videos there not too long ago, so I wish you the best and I know you’ll love it. The train to Nürnberg comes frequently and then from there you can visit almost anywhere :)

Merry Christmas!! I'm so glad you posted this video! I'll be visiting Munich the first week of March and plan to go to Herrenchiemsee. It seems like the same process, just to a different island? The very information is all in German, so it's been a bit hard to get info if you have any tips for getting to the palace it would be appreciated so much!!

Hi, I think you can buy different ticket combinations. Either way, everyone speaks really excellent English.

Yes, the ferries run round trips on all Bavarian lakes. So it's like the bus: you can get on and off at any stop, depending on what you paid your ticket for, of course. - On the island itself, it's a 15-minute walk to the palace, but there are also horse-drawn carriages as a shuttle service. Remember to order tickets for the guided tour of the palace online well in advance!!!

Rezept für heissen Apfelwein ; 1 Flasche Apfelwein erwärmen ., 1-2 Zimtstangen ( Cinnamon stick ) , 3-4 Nelken ( Clove ) und 2-3 Piment ( Pimento ) , dazugeben und 20-30Minuten ziehen lassen ( nicht kochen ) . mit etwas Honig abschmecken ! Wer möchte kann ein kleines Stück Orange und ein Stück Zitrone dazugeben !

Missing those climate gluers in front of the steam engine. Prien am Chiemsee isn\t exactly Munich. It is not even considered greater Munich. It is some 50 or 60miles away.

Climate gluers? I'm not sure I know what you mean. But yeah... I know Prien am Chiemsee isn't Munich, but frankly I just didn't think people would watch the video if we didn't call it something like that. The unfortunate truth is that most people most of the time only click on things that they have some familiarity with. Munich is a super powerful keyword in that way. Every video I've done that can use the word Munich somehow has massively outperformed its neighbors.
