There's a thing called "Eton mess," which is meringue, cream, and strawberries. It was, apparently, created when some students at Eton made a dessert and dropped it, but instead of throwing it away, it was served smashed to bits.
@@1989NickyD No Nicky, if you'd followed Brian's posts? You'd know he said he'd be recording Monday, which was fairly close after their scare about PB.
I love your friday night dinner reaction, but your conversations beside are also amazing :-) Hope you are coping well with the difficult situation and that the Queen and the Princess will stay well
There are three major types of meringue; Swiss, Italian and French. The distinction depends on how the key ingredients (egg whites and sugar) are combined and whether any heat is involved in the process.
Yeah, probably some chef dropped the pavlova one day and had to think quickly. Probably with a "Just taste it!" plea to anyone who was undecided. @@ScottishDeeSideEye
King Boomer I took your advice and when I was about to get arrested I pulled down my pants and all and was further arrested for public indecency, thanks Bud
UK Driving test is very different: First we have to sit a theory test which consists of a multiple choice style exam then a hazard perception test where we watch a load of different clips taking from a dashboard camera and you click your mouse on what you think is a hazard before the hazardous thing happens. only once you've passed those can you take the practical test, you get minor faults and major faults added to your overall score during the drive. I passed the theory and hazard perception 1st time - i got one multiple choice wrong and two missed on the hazard perception, i passed the practical on the 3rd attempt.
We don't generally eat merangs in the UK, not as they came; they are generally considered as an ingredient for other dishes, such as Eton Mess or Lemon Merang pie. This is why you tend to find them in the bakery ingredients sections in the shops.
So great to see you both back on screen together. You both have amazing chemistry with each other and the reactions are so much fun. Hope all is better.
I had no idea that meringues weren't a thing in the US? They actually originated in France but they're popular all over Europe. You usually have them as part of a dessert rather eating them on their own. The best meringue dessert is an English dessert called an Eton Mess, which consists of meringe pieces, fresh strawberries and thick, double fresh cream.
If you're going to try meringue, try lemon meringue pie!! Hope you're all doing ok. Sorry to hear about the stressful time you're having. Sending best wishes to you!
Commercial breaks in UK are very strict when it comes to medicine, you can't advertise prescription drugs at all, doctors aren't allowed to endorse a branded drug. The only adverts that are allowed are for medicines you can buy off the supermarket shelf/pharmacy counter eg paracetemol, cough syrups, allergy tablets.
Not looking behind you whilst reversing in the UK is an instant fail. We have one of the toughest tests in the world, that's why we can drive in the US on our licence, but you can't transfer yours here. Also, we almost all drive manual (stick)
Merrangue is literally solid marshmallow. You get French, Italian and Swiss. All made with whisked egg whites abd sugar but using slightly differing methods and resulting in different textures. I find it ahrd ti believe you don't have them in the USA... Key Lime Pie abd Baked Alaska are twocamericab dishes i know of tgat contain merangue.
Meringue is french, you can break it up and make an Eaton mess with cream and strawberries, but ye you did get a little deep at the end there guys haha, the stuff your talking about is happening allover the world, not just america, there is addictive meds everywhere, so don't be to hard on your country, anyway seeing (cali, callie,) Queen mama bear Boomer! Her mummy reactions already, is so cute, as awkward as fk with the lads in their pjs and jackie babying them and callie's face like Awww it's cute, haha! X
Two weeks ago, I went to see a stage show, and the guy who writes this sent in a video that was played on the big screen. The guy I went to see is one of his associates apparently. I got to shake his hand.
If I remember from my driving test you could only make make two minor mistakes and zero major ones, and these were the days before GPS (around 2004 in Scotland) . Took me three time to pass my test and even then the examiner said I passed only just cause I was so slow and careful 😂
I live in the UK and I've never watched this series. Looking forward to seeing your next reaction to one of my favourite shows plebs can you please ask Queen Boomer if she would watch and give us her opinion.😂
Agreed on Jackie, the bad first impression I got from her forcing Martin to throw away his harmless hobby that only brought him joy (magazines) whilst expecting everyone to indulge her ogling tv contestants at the same time was never changed unfortunately
@@thecatmangaming5503especially how she acted in the last episode does she really think she has the right to decide who her son can marry? She doesn't deserve kids
Jackie definitely got worse series 5 onwards. She was just plain nasty for the majority of season 6, although her anger at Adam in the Paper Bag was justified considering he didn't even acknowledge her in his magazine or show any love for her. But her actions towards Martin were never ok. One of the reasons why The Au Pair worked for me because it was mostly funny and not mean spirited. Any scene with Gibby I watch over and over but any scene with Jackie from most of series 6 is harder to watch. Series 1-4 she's nice and fun. She is still a bit hard on Martin in the earlier episodes, the magazines was a good example but at least it wasn't mean spirited and both people had a fair point in that episode. Martin hoarding old magazines is a typical thing in most families and Jackie wanting to declutter is normal. But in The Tin Of The Meat she's not exactly being fair. Yeah Val was doing the right thing throwing Martin's meat away, but Jackie shouldn't have let her throw his other stuff away and then be upset when Val starts throwing out her clothes. She works as the only sane character who's sensible and it's logical she wouldn't be as popular as Adam, Johnny, Martin, Jim, Nice Grandma and Mr Morris. But in later seasons she is a bit harder to cope with.
I always thought Americans passed their test if they could get in the car and drive around a car park, you know a place where you park your car. Oh and greetings to soon to be mummy. I'm British, so of course I'm being snarky. Where did the phrase pajamas come from? The history and origin of pajamas The word "pajama" has its origin in Hindi: "pae jama" or "pai jama", which literally translates as "garment for the legs" and dates back to the Ottoman Empire of the 13th century. Pajamas were originally for them loose pants or boxers with a simple cord to tie them.
in relation to the take off your pants during a fight point you made, its really funny how true it is, theres that video of the guy who wears like tearaway stripper trousers in rough areas and everytime someone squares up to him he tears the trousers off and has tight speedos on (and this guy can fight) its just the image of some dude practically in a thong with this deep bass-ey roar like CMON THEN but also in real life i have a friend who was being mugged (he's apparently done this twice) where they're threatening him and he'll reply in this like really posh accent like he's mental "oh ho ho, you want to fck me do you?!" and he'll start undressing like "GO AHEAD fck ME ISNT THIS what YOU WANTED?! THIS?!" and they just think hes a scary feral crack head and ran away, he swears by it 🤣 and he was like "if they pull a knife scuttle away on all fours snarling they wont chase you" 😂😭
Meringues aren't a normal snack, not sure why they are implied to be in this show. They're commonly used in French and Italian desserts but also fairly common in a few UK desserts too.
KB, when you say take off your pants, do you mean the American meaning of pants or the British one? This is important as if you take off your pants here you could get into a lot of trouble! 😂😂😂😂
Meringues with strawberries and fresh whipped cream is the absolute best desert EVER. So lush. Smash the Meringues up and it's called Eton Mess so yes that's a great British dessert even with vanilla ice cream and strawberries too Meringues are the most lush thing mmmm got me craving them now.
Good episode guys Loves it Lemon meringue is my fav desert You guys do have that there Well I Ohio anyway The ones Queen was talking about are often served with fruit and tea A bit bland, dry and boring though You can eat one, but get sickly very quick Oh and are French, Lots of English food are trench and Italian based And our version of Indian food is our nation dish
If you make meringues put two of the shelves together with heavy cream that’s been sweetened and then run caramel round the cream and dip it in crushed walnuts… A heart attack and I pud 😋
Once you watch the last episode of father ted would love you to watch either the Irish show popular in the UK called mrs browns boys and a old classic UK show gimme gimme gimme
In plebs it’s johnny that wears a tunic now it’s reversed 🤣 i always have meringues in the kitchen, amazing with a few scoops of ice cream on top or just on its own 👍🏻👌🏻
The drug commercial that amazes me is the anti-depressant one. The whole commercial and drug is centered around that the anti-depressant the doctor prescribed my not be enough, so take this drug to help your anti-depressant. So, take an anti-depressant for your anti-depressant to make you feel better. Oh, and the side effects may include death. But at least you'll die happy!!! 🙄
