This is actually one of my favorite episodes. Mel B. provides so much material for the comedians to work with. You don’t act like that around professional comedians without them making you look foolish. To quote Simon Amstell “you won’t win!”.

i remember this. They had this Punk guy on Buzzcocks, who tried really hard to be "provocative" and constantly tried to tussle with Bill Bailey. Who destroyed him every single time. After a few times Amstell said that.

To this day I wonder what she thought she was signing up for. And how she got so far in the entertainment industry without knowing how to behave on a silly little light entertainment quiz show ffs. She is a train wreck of confused, self-absorbed stupidity and I can’t look away. 😂 this episode is iconic.

For me the traditional end of year 'must watch' show was always Charlie Brookes 'wipe' series (2014wipe etc.) Very dry, cynical and part of the same series of shows that the character 'Philomena Cunk' first appears in. Another of his to check out is his series, 'How TV ruined your life'.

Way too much skipping. I agree with everyone else about Mel B, but whoever edited please behave. I usually watch this for your reaction but this was almost unwatchable

Can I just say that what they are doing is just a "Pub Quiz".. In the Uk there's a lot of pubs that have a "Quiz night". And, we love them.

Re: Bono "Meeting the pope" or lamenting that "Weinstein was great for U2". Weinstein started out his media career as a music promoter. There's some good U2 songs definitely, but for me they're kinda tainted by Bono :S Charlie Sheen + $10k? Snort it?

The real reason "Flappy Bird" was taken down is because the creator used almost exclusively Nintendo assets and was afraid he was going to get sued. The fact he was able to play it off as "not wanting attention" was an act of genius.

The only Mel B you should watch is Bo Selecta. Especially after watching the 'clunge' bit of the show. I remember seeing Geri on Room 101 similarly not getting it. Mel C is clearly the best Spice Girl. She was fantastic on Never Mind the Buzzcocks.

Mel B was a complete pain in the bum in this episode, but she was having a really bad time (she was in an abusive relationship with Stephen Belafonte & attempted to take her own life that year by overdosing on Aspirin) & is usually a lot more relaxed. She even laughed along and joined in with Bo Selecta & their version of Mel B. I think she'd literally reached the end of her wits. I hope she's doing better now. I'm not a huge fan, but I prefer scary spice a little less scary 😬

I've got the solution to the U2 on your phone thing. Buy a Samsung android phone. They're much cheaper, don't force bands, etc., on you and work better than the I-Phone. At least this has been my personal experience.

Ugh, the Mel B episode. I haven't watched this in ages but if I remember correctly it's a good episode whenever she isn't talking. I guess I'll try and power through either to be pleasantly surprised by the rest of the episode or as a self-reminder to never watch this again.

Of all the things to be reminded of, I was completely blank on 2014, until POTATO SALAD!!! IIRC, The guy raising funds wanted to cover the cost of making potato salad for the first time, because making it at a loss if they didnt like it was a waste of money and food. But the kickstaer kept going up so he offered a potato salad party, and a bigger party and so on. Potato salad in abundance. 😂😂
