I don't know why this appeared on my recommended as a Singaporean, but I totally smiled watching this. Its nice seeing people acknowledging our country and what we have to offer, and just knowing that others have had a good time while on travels here and plan to visit as well.
As a Malaysian living in Singapore for over 20 years, I can say the country has never ceased to innovate and adapt to changes. When-ever you get to visit the country, the key word that I would associate with Singapore is " Convenience ".
The uploaders do not know that to come to singapore Pre requisites: 💉 💉 + 2 weeks (to avoid SHN as you finished the jab) 7 years old and older *must* be registered via TraceTogether (If you are entering by changi airport, you need to rent a device with the TraceTogether app or pay $50 for a token. The $50 is refunded if you return the token)
Im Singaporean and I love seeing foreigners react to our country. It makes me so proud and happy that im a citizen in such a nice country. Ty for the nice react ! I hope yall can come on over to experience these one day !
Man-made that may be, it’s a fusion of nature back into the super modern environment the country is. And love the fact that no matter how built up it is, efforts are made to keep close to 40% of land space green and forested.
The 3 buildings that’s connected at the roof is called Marina Bay Sands hotel. I was part of that project actually. Singapore is so small, from Marina Bay Sands to my apartment is only 20 minutes drive away. To get around Singapore you don’t need to drive. You can go around by public transport and it’s so easy (since Singapore is so small)
I grew up in Singapore with our own chicken, ducks, goats and even cows for milk. I had to take our goats out to graze before school and fetch them back every day after school. That was Singapore in the 70s.
Honestly nobody eats rice on a plate with chopsticks. Chopsticks (for rice) are only used when the rice is in a BOWL. I'm speaking from a "traditionally practiced" point of view. You are free to use chopsticks with rice on a plate but you're gonna have a lot of problems 😁😂. We just use a fork and spoon for that. I remember Haw Par Villa giving me nightmares as a kid, cuz many of the stories depicted there are the 9 levels of Chinese Hell... where criminals get punished with different tortures based on the severity of their crimes on Earth. Gory depictions such as decapitation, digging out your bowels etc as torture methods are shown. As far as I know, the statues are made of stone, but renovation works done in recent years might have "repaired" them with cement or plasters, I dunno.
Lots of fights break out at newton hawker centre hence the police cctvs there, can get nicer food in other hawker centres and cheaper too. Seafood is pricey in Singapore but that's what most visitors should experience - Singapore Chilli Crab. Indian fish head curry at Little India is also a must try. The ultimate local breakfast is the kaya toast breakfast set which is also available at all times of the day. You also have to try Hainanese Chicken Rice which is a favourite with locals and foreigners new to our shores. If you're looking at specific items, ask locals to recommend where to go for the best bargains. A lot of sellers don't really haggle here so it's pretty straightforward shopping but there's no harm in asking for discounts or freebies.
Hey guys you are welcome to Singapore, firstly security is the main thing everyone have in mind for Singapore, anyone is safe to stay out late, secondly is the education here,to us as a Singaporean we will not hop to Newton circus for the food there as it’s for tourist and the food pricing is high compare to local area hawker but to get an experience of it you may pay a visit there,do check on the price before you order.
Many malaysians give bad comments here becoz they jealous that Singapore left them way behind as first world asian metropolis, international financial centre, world's busiest seaport, worlds best airport, airline and the list goes on..Ringgit Malaysia value is only one third of S$. Many Malaysians forced to work in spore to earn descent income.
no1. prom-e-nade no2. u can call marina bay sands mbs no3. the 1st pic for shopping is call suntec no4. go to gardens by the bay shop and buy the orchid in ressen
That is The Jewel in Changi Airport. Located between terminal 2 n 3 In Changi Airport. 1 of the terminal not sure which one, have cinemas, swim pools and game arcades, so if you in transit and dont want to go out but stay in at the airport you can used the facilities. Dont forget to pay. Hehehehehe..
U need at least 5 hours to enjoy Jewel @ Changi. The exact reason I always missed it… I never go to airport early lol. Btw, hope we can cross over to Singapore again.. love from KL
Singapore has more to offer than what is shown in this video. Singapore Zoo is not featured but is one of the best zoos in the world. There are nature walks area which is free and if lucky, you might meet some wild animals along the way.
I was about to mention that our 3 zoos are all left out. Singapore Zoo, River wonders and Night Safari and one (newly shifted Jurong bird park to the location. You guys will get to see peacock roaming around freely in Sentosa, you get to see Wild boar, Otters, Snake, Monkeys, Roosters and hens are common sight. Please do not touch, catch or hurt these animals as there are laws to protect them. Just watch and let them be.
Those guys in the airport appear to be cycling. It is not an ad. It is an activity for visitors to the airport. They are cycling to land a simulated plane on the runway
1 thing nobody realised is, you cant pull a plant along roadside. (Yes plant, not flower.) to plant it in your house or pluck fruits growing by the road. They are for shows (or RC members i guessed) and 1 small potted plant may cost you $20-30.
It depends on the type of potted plants though. There are very cheap ones you can get at the wet market for under SGD 3. Or at the supermarkets for under SGD 10. Even IKEA sells some good ones. Go to the many nurseries around the island for good bargains. Can even buy online from Shoppee, Lazada, Carousell etc.
They are all public property meaning they belong to the government. NParks is custodian of all plant life in Singapore and they enforce the practice of leaving nature as you find it. Don't take away and don't leave or add to it. Every plant you see on the road dividers and sides have been selected very carefully. We are very protective of our biodiversity. I think the only time you could cut wild flowers, weeds and grass growing on the wayside and not get caught is during the Covid circuit breaker when all the foreign workers were holed up in the dormitories.
Singapore is an island nation at the southern tip of the Malayan Peninsular, not part of Malaysia but was once part of a merger of Malaysia, Sarawak and Sabah before 1965
That place scares the hell out of me when I was younger. Scary sculptures they have! Hahhaha. When they added the water slide features and stuff in 80s, it lost some of it's mythical feel. Glad it was restored to how it was now.. Somewhat.
Singaporean here. And yes we are secretly Wakanda. *Joking* 12:15 is a part of the Jewel's Changi Experience Studio experience. Lol. Haw Par Villa has been around since the 80s. Those things are made of stone, plaster etc. Do the Beach Lights one night, do the super trees another night.
Newton centre has gotten too popular with tourist that they kinda overprice the food they sell. There are plenty of other amazing food centres that sell the same good stuff but at much more reasonable prices. Bedok 85 market is a good dinner spot, only problem is it might be out of the way if you are living in central singapore. The video also left out the Singapore Zoo which is one of the best in the world and Pulau Ubin, a small island a short boat ride away if you're looking to see what Old school singapore looked like or to get away from the city life.
Actually I won't even recommend Newton, would rather people go to Chinatown Market, Maxwell, Bedok 85 or even East Coast Lagoon for non exorbitant hawker experience. Haha
Shopping. $ - Bugis Street, Arab Street, Chinatown. $$$ - Orchard Road and Marina Bay Sands. Haw Par Villa - you can visit the nine different levels of hell. Food. Hawker Centres - $, but be careful when you visit. They might scalp you. Wear light clothings cos weather at the equator is like Mexico but more humid!
I've lived in Singapore for 7 plus years now and I still don't know how people go up the bridge on those artificial trees in gardens by the bay 😢 Every time I go it seems to be closed...I asked locals and no one knows how too 😂
You guys if you want to get your subscriber's numbers skyrocketing to 15K in no time you should do some video about our neighbour country Indonesia. Just a suggestion. Bt the way i'm Malaysian.
This is pretty interesting. I'm just confused by the reference to "Malaysians" and that you would get a Proton tattoo. In case this was because you thought Singapore is in Malaysia... it isn't. Haha. We are close neighbours though, and were part of the same country pre 1965 :)
5:36 depends on what you define as Chinese People. If you are referring to a person holding a Chinese citizenship then I have no idea. But if you define them as descendants of Chinese origin then SF Chinatown or the City of SF is definitely not the place with the most Chinese People outside of China. For comparison, about more than 76% of Singapore population of 5.7 million people are of Chinese origin, Indonesia and Malaysia has a citizens of Chinese ethnicity of more than 5 million each most of which will probably resides in major cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia and Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, Batam, Pontianak, Singkawang and Tanjung Pinang in Indonesia.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The western political concept. For the Maoist political concept, see Three Worlds Theory. The "Three Worlds" of the Cold War era, April - August 1975 First World: Western Bloc led by the USA, Japan and their allies Second World: Eastern Bloc led by the USSR, China, and their allies Third World: Non-Aligned and neutral countries The concept of First World originated during the Cold War and comprised countries that were aligned with United States and the rest of NATO and opposed the Soviet Union and/or communism during the Cold War. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the definition has instead largely shifted to any country with little political risk and a well-functioning democracy, rule of law, capitalist economy, economic stability, and high standard of living. Various ways in which modern First World countries are often determined include GDP, GNP, literacy rates, life expectancy, and the Human Development Index. In common usage, "first world" typically refers to "the highly developed industrialized nations often considered the westernized countries of the world".
Nooo don't go to Newtown Hawker Centre. It's a tourist trap. There are so many other much better hawker centres that are not overpriced with better food.
You're right, the lights on the beach is nonsense. You can watch the Gardens by the bay lights for free from the ground. It costs SGD8 to watch it from the sky bridge for 15 mins. And don't go to Haw Par Villa; it's really run down and absurd. The Singapore Zoo & Night Safari are a better pick. A food discovery journey is one of the best ways to experience Singapore. Chilli crab, black pepper crab, salted egg crab, stingray, durian, bak kut teh, indian food in little India, seafood or frog porridge in Geylang. Don't waste time and money eating in boring mall restaurants. See you guys in Singapore when this pandemic is over. Cheers
Malaysia is always trying to catch up albeit we are a much more complex country with many issues... but I think both countries will maybe someday reunite.... lol please dont bash
Don't say "catch up" lah. Malaysia has its good points and strengths also, and there are many things Singaporeans can learn from Malaysians. Don't judge both countries by the same standard.
@@shastasilverchairsg yalaaa economically need to catch up, amongs other things. Singapore need to catch up in term of personal liberty, press freedom etc...
They will never re-unite because of the reason they separated: Singapore wanted a Malaysia for Malaysians; Malaysia wanted--and still wants--a Malaysia for Malays.
Where there are chinese there will be wealth, we are the ones that make asia rich. We are hardworking, positive thinking, always looking forward, respect all races and religions. We want prosperity for all.
Or how the Brits call them Jenting (Genting) lol. I remembered my English mate said that as Genting has a casino branch in Sheffield (or a same name company but I'm sure it is own by Genting Malaysia)
