Messi's had insane footballing iq from the womb. When you look at videos from messi at 7 yo it looks the same as he was at his peak. He's gifted with something noone's ever had. Ronaldo was obviously talented but he HAD to train all of his skill moves in order to remotely come close to messi dribbling wise. His moves are pure hard work day after day whereas messi is basically on autopilot and sees everything instinctively. Messi's defo the more talented and better player but ronaldo will always be my goat for his work ethic and mindset and is imo the greatest footballer ever athleticism wise. Also I'm portuguese and this mf made portugal into a footballing nation but u have to remember that they barely qualified for world cups before ronaldo played (only 3) this guy put us on the map AND won us our first ever trophies

Kids play the same way Messi did at 7 years old. They generally don’t have strength and technique, but they love to run and dribble. Messi’s body wasn’t growing not just in height, but also muscle mass, so he stuck with dribbling. He worked hard to become a master at dribbling to stay on field and fight for a starting position. He didn’t get treatment until he was 12 and he only grew a few inches.

If anything someone like neymar should be the representation of talent whereas messi and ronaldo are clearly both talent plus hardwork with ronaldo being more hardworking. Haaland is one of the fastest players in the world, you just don't see it on Man City because they play very slow, check out Haalands BVB highlights, they played a very fast counter attack style so you could see Haalands speed much more

In terms of playing style Messi is more like Bron. Can pass and score and uses his physical attributes (being small means low centre of gravity which is great for football) Ronaldo is more like Jordan who’s a killer and clutch and scoring demon but saucy as well but he’s more like Bron it like he’s won with different teams

I see what your talking about but i disagree , imo their is 2 ways of dribbling : - basic skills (body faints , speed ...etc) - using tricks Messi is a pure dribbler and CR7 is a trickster , so i can't really compare them and say messi is better at dribbling overall or vise versa.

no that´s just not true bro idk where this misconception is coming from I really don´t wanna argue but I simply cannot agree to that. Argentina on paper has always had a better squad and it hasn´t never even been close till like the last wc. Argentina before Messi was already a big team. Portugal before Ronaldo had only qualified to the wc THREE times in their history and Ronaldo with that bum ass team got them 2 international trophies he put them on the map and to me that´s more impressive than anything else. Ronaldo has had to carry that team all the way till 2020´s euros but before that it was just Ronaldo and pepe literally. It wasn´t until this wc which was two years ago that you can say Portugal had a decend squad but that squad was there when Ronaldo was aging.

For me CR7 is the real goat. He's never stayed in his comfort zone. Messi is a great player, but he'll never be able to play in 5 different leagues like CR7. Just look at PSG: he no longer had the ease of playing with a team built on tiki taka system that allowed him to deploy his full potential. CR7 doesn't need that. Winning a World Cup with Argentina is a lot easier than winning trophies with the Portuguese national team.

He didn't have the system, but you can't say he didn't play great still, especially considering the fact he still ended up winning the most MOTM on the team. People only say he didn't play well because he didn't score much, but they don't take into account that he was playing as a CAM meant to feed Mbappe the balls to score. I mean this was the first time in his career that Messi was registrating more assists than goals on a team, he even broke the assist ratio record in the league with the only one above 50% ratio, and he had never done this before in his career because he was more attacking outside PSG.

The reason why you think Ronaldo is better is because he is more flashy, but Messi is way more effective. Ronaldo does so many tricks to beat 1 player but why Messi is better is that he doesn't need to do any tricks to beat a defender. Messi is also a better passer, has higher football IQ, better in tight spaces, better free kick shooter. Ronaldo has some weaknesses in his game, he is a high volume shooter, not great in tight spaces, just a decent passer. Messi is not just good in every one of these aspects, but arguably the best ever in each one of them. The only part of offensive play which Ronaldo is better at is heading (and off-ball movement), and Messi still scores as much as Ronaldo without heading. Ronaldo was an exciting young talent, but when Messi was 19 people knew they were witnessing a once in a century talent.

The big difference for me between why Argentina is more successful is because they play more as a team rather than relying on individual performances. You may have the best players on your team but if they can't work as a team they will bot succeed. Look at what happened with PSG.

Refreshing to sed new fans of the sports giving their opinions, no agendas no tribalism, just unbias opinion on their favourites based on what they are seeing with their own eyes, my first time really watching the cristiano was in 2010 world cup where ronaldo played, he was just electric he just looked far and beyond and completely different to every other player on both teams at the time it was phenomenal to watch, as a child i knew that i was gonna be a huge fan of this football player ronaldo, he had aura unlike any other, when he touches the ball you know sumn was going to go down, it was sensational

Portugal has never gotten a wc in their history so you can´t really expect Ronaldo to bring one it´s like wanting a country like Sweden back in the day to win a world cup because Zlatan was there it wouldn´t really make sense because he doesn´t even have a proper team. Something you guys need to know is that Portugal had only qualified to the world cup only THREE times in their history before Ronaldo came and had 0 international trophies. But after Ronaldo arrived to Portugal he won them their only 2 major international trophies he put them on the map and the only reason Portugal have even a remote chance of winning the world cup is because Ronaldo has been there.
