what else should we be asking New Yorkers?

Great video. We Singaporeans do not claim our food is better than blah blah country. We just enjoy our food and be happy.

When you said "...in Singapore they will probably cost around 5 to 8 USD", my heart skips a beat. 😄 Brother they probably only cost 5 to 8 SGD.

These people probably think Singapore is cheap because you can get the same hawker food for $3, but then everything else in Singapore is just as expensive as NYC or even more expensive (particularly owning a car).
@straypenne
@straypenne Год назад
oh for sure yea but just food alone, sg has so many more affordable options 👍🏻

$18USD for prawn noodle (equivalent to about $24SGD at current exchange rates). Was just in Singapore and went to a prawn noodle shop on Joo Chiat Rd (mainly because my wife wanted the AC). Prices were $6.80SGD for a classic prawn noodle to $13.80SGD for a supreme big prawn noodle. I understand needing a Sing food fix, but those prices are crazy.

@@straypennehousing should include our HDB. If u go by owing a HDB flat and a brand new car 1.6L Toyota Altis, it will seems Singaporeans are asset rich.

Why would the interviewer ask his first interviewee if his food reminds him of home? It is obvious that his interviewee does not come from Singapore... It lacks sincerity but nervousness on the part of the interviewer probably played a part in it.

It’s sad & dumb to undersell the value of SG Food by contrasting how cheap they are in SG traditional Hawker centres which is totally different league in manpower & food cost, location and setting!! Why aren’t you comparing them with prices in MBS or Orchard foodcourt that’s probably the same rental and setting! Totally doing urban hawkers a dis-service & devaluing all the hawkers hard work ! BOO!!

Actually we in Singapore are more diversified… we can never get bored of the food in Singapore but once we are at some other places.. we may like the food for a while but after that it’s the same thing over and over again… and it’s always a lack of variety that we felt everywhere we go no matter how good the food is.
