Well, depends on what you call Russia If you mean the Federation of Russia, then yes, a big part of Russia, more than half, is in Siberia, Asia If you mean the region of Russia, then no, Russia is only in Europe

Sometimes I wonder if and Asian empire conquered Australia, would it then be considered as a part of Asia or is it because Australia and NZ are mostly Europeans that it's culturally, then geographically, separated from Asia. The idea of continents is tricky.

But about Oceania, it's included cuz it's pretty small, and there is no sense not including i. There's not enough stuff to make a video out of it. Unless they gonna make it about "Name Australian states"

Cyprus is an exception to everything honestly. It's a horror show of a mess. There is the Turkish controlled portion of it, the British/UN controlled portion and the Sovereign nation portion of it. I honestly don't think anyone can definitively say anything about it because of all that.

Legally Cyprus is fully in Europe, it’s a grey area culturally and geographically but when it comes to UN laws the north of Cyprus is not a separate nation state. Turkey is the only country in the world that recognises it as such, which does not count. Well done Buzzfeed.

Bemused Bandersnatch yes I can for the most part. That’s how I learned them all, by the maps. The only issue with the small island countries is that they aren’t on some maps or quizzes that I took to learn the world countries so I had to just hope I covered them all when taking different quizzes to learn.

By the way, "-stan" is Persian suffix which means "land". There are 7 countries with that prefix, Kazakstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan. Most of them can be read as “land of the … people” such as Uzbekistan = land of the Uzbek people.

Josephine F technically Australia is the name of the continent as well. It depends how you break down the continents (from 4-8). Australia is a continent from breaking down geographically 4-5 continents. When you break down the continents from 6-8, the continent can be referred to as Australia or Oceania. But even Australasia isn’t really “Asia”. Oceania and Australasia include Australia, New Zealand, New Guinea and the Pacific Islands

The only ones that might believe otherwise are the ones that are see Cyprus as a 100% Greek(therefore European) who ignore our geography and the influence we've had from the Arabs Persians Ottomans etc. Most of us recognise the similarities we have with other middle Eastern countries which are a lot. If we ignore Greece I can't think of another European country we share even 1% of culture with.

I was hitting my heas against the wall when Russia wasn’t on the list. It’s literally the biggest Asian country (yes, Asian part of Russia is larger than PRC) . Thanks American for helping the Russians state erase Russia’s national minorities and indigenous people (most of whom are Asian from Asian parts of the country...).

it's taken from the asia-pacific section in the U.N. They did not state that Australia is part of Asia. Australia is not in their list of Asian countries. Australia/NZ/Paupa/Pacific nations are lumped into Asia when pertaining to the U.N for convenience reasons. You're wrong, and shut up.
