@@rocketsmall4547 well i learned to make banh mi already :))))) the first idea is quite good though :))) im back in Vietnam now, but i will take notes on your suggestions if i ever go abroad alone again 😂😂
Banh Mi is amazing. I was born in Vietnam. Now my cuisine and meals are mostly Western food. But Banh Mi actually saved me when I was a student in university and suffered from a poverty life. They're pricy but more tasty and outstanding than Western sandwiches.
Wow this is actually really coming as a surprise to me that they've never tried a banh mi before. In Seattle there is probably at least 100 different places you can get a banh mi. They even serve it as lunch at the community college. Its great to have when you are on a budget because they are pretty cheap and taste great.
I remembered that when I traveled to France , I once saw a restaurant in Paris that have Vietnamese sandwiches , the funny thing is they wrote the name of the sandwiches wrong ! They wrote Bảnh Mi when the real name is Bánh Mì !
you can put whatever kind of meat you want in the bread. The main ingredients are butter, pate, cilantro, cucumber and chili or pepper. My favorite is sunny side up egg sandwich which I've been searching for 3 years living in America and still haven't found any restaurants selling it so I made it myself ;)
I was just in Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh) last month and the bánh mì there is so much better than in the US. The baguette bread was softer and sweeter and it was less than a dollar each 🙂
Spent all of my childhood and teenager time in Vietnam then moved to Canada. I have to say that the Special Banh Mi and Sardines type is the best. They have grilled pork ( haven’t seen grilled chicken or beef) in Banh Mi but they taste totally different in Vietnam, the North America type is so so weird to my taste. You can also find these popular fillings inside of banh mi: xiu mai, crispy roasted pork, fish cake, fried eggs with salt and pepper, char xiu or simply pate and egg york cream( it’s like hollandaise sauce but without the vinegar and herb)
@@SavageDragon999 we did eat sardines but not in our bread,we always eat deep-fried sardine with small amount of spicy sauce or get some tomatoes sauce
Wait til you try bánh mì ốp la. Basically, instead of meat, you get two fried eggs tucked in the roll with cilantro, chili sauce, soy sauce, pickled carrots, and cucumber. It's very delicious! In Sài Gòn, you can get them and an 8 ounce coffee for $1.05 total
The people who are trying to pronounce the words that are not in their language deserve some props I mean seriously they’re trying their best they didn’t get to go to a class before the video to learn viet pronunciation
Some of Those guys trying the sandwiches should like totally make a channel where they try stuff they’ll be called try man or something idk just a thought
As an Vietnamese myself, I was curious of how Americans or people from other countries would react to Vietnamese foods. This Video answered my curiosity.
The thing about Banh Mi is no matter what you put inside, it is still authentic cause Vietnamese people can eat anything with the baguette, curry, stew, ham, anything
I am vietnamese, honestly these "Banh mi" are more like bánh mì in Vietnam-America style. Those are 100% not traditional vietnamese "Banh Mi " If you come into vietnam you will experience different style of banh mi but those are always combined of these ingridient : "chả giò", egg, mint leaf, soy sauce mixing with oil and others, pork liver, egg creams , and pork. Vietnam like mixing a lot of flavor in to their food making them delicious to eat.
Dunk it in nuc mam (spelling?). That's how I like it. And/or add mayo. For some reason, all the Vietnamese restaurants in my area do not put pate on them, so they are too dry if I don't do this.
I prefer Dac Biet. But grilled pork is amazing too. Vietnamese Coffee is great too! But it packs a punch because it has too much sugar and caffeine. Vietnamese also drink sweet black coffee and I like that better cuz not as sweet.
Dude, not all Asians are the same. There are different races. Just because you’re Asian, doesn’t mean you have to like traditional Vietnamese food. Tf.
xblu3b3rrygurlx omg I thought I was the only one who likes sardines. I mean I don't love them but I'll eat them and won't complain. Most Americans are so unhealthy these days
Crezelda Maraba you should follow Trevor food channeled called, "thefoodranger" I think that is what it's called. He just did a couple videos of food places to try in Vietnam.
There are typically no steak, pork or chicken sandwiches in Vietnam because we typically make 'Bánh Mì Ốp La' which translates to Egg Sandwich where you can pay around 50 cents for one which is 10000 vnd, I live in Da Nang city so I know because I have been living here for over 8 years and there is the Dragon Bridge which is nice to have
Teerry ĐUBAi gosh viết tiếng Việt rồi thì viết đúng chính tả đi bạn ơi =))))) plus next time try to say something more international friendly rather than be triggered over random shits like that lol
I LOVE a Bahn Mi... I always get the Tofu... I'm kind of surprised there isn't a Tofu version considering every vietnamese restaurant I've been to always has tofu.. its a standard!
Sauce Stache I work at a Vietnamese Restaurant and they have no tofu... their vegetarian option is a banh mi minus the butter, pate and just has the vegetables and soy sauce. 😐 it's hard a.f being a vego myswlf and having to explain to any other vegetarians what our "vegetarian options" are.
Sauce Stache they weren't great examples... the restaurant I work at is traditional and they have crackling roast pork banh mi or grilled chicken banh mi or a combo. That's it.
Alana Robertson so look up Orlando's little Vietnam.. we have about 30 Vietnamese restaurants on 1 street. They all sell tofu. It's what I get almost every time
I swear they don't know how to rate anything wtf how is something supposedly gonna be good but you rate it a 2/5 😂, 2.5/5 is supposed to be okay but probably wouldn't visit this again, so wtf do they think a 2 is 🤦🏽♂️
I like to play a little game to make these videos more interesting: If they sit together, they are dating. So far my favorite is Curly and Ned. They're cute together 😉
