I'm from Norway. always think it's fun when people from other countries try to pronounce Hygge. it's never right, but always sweet and fun when they try. by the way the licorice name translated is witch howl, and I do not like it either.
@@traver1965 of course we have the word hygge and hyggelig. Oljeplattform is Oil platform it is something completely different, Oil platform is a place / workplace / company. not a feeling like hygge. but those who work on an oil platform may feel it is hyggelig work there
If you guys read this by chance I want to say thank you for being such positive inspirations! I just graduated from college and with everything going on in the world it’s been a rough start. But your channel has shown me that it’s okay to try new things - to maybe fail and keep going with a smile on my face!
Oh men the Heksehyl! I love it SO much, made my mouth water just watching u guys eat it! I'm from the Netherlands and we just love eating salt liquorice, heksehyl is my favourite! 😍😍
Even when I'm having a bad day which I am. You guys make me laugh thank you. Although how you're wife puts up with you two without cracking up all the time she deserves an award 👏

here is a little history about the yankie .. in the 1960s the american soilders started to come to denmark for a exchange program, because we wanted to make the americans feel more at home toms ( the company that makes yankie and other amazing chokotate ) started making the bars. its our version of the mars bar
You need to have 1 million + subscribers! Been following you for years now, ladies & Lattes, Life’s a Burch and all your other channels, love you all ❤️❤️❤️
That round tube of Prince cookies is a Belgian invention from 1894, created by a Antwerp guy called Edward De Beukelaer. Created specially for the king Leopold II, since then it has been bought LU,Danone, Craft Foods and since 2012 property of Mondelez.(USA) ..So, not Danish but Belgian originally.
The Yankie Bar was actually made for the American army in Europe shortly after the end of WW2 where the Americans were in need of candy bars for their troops in Germany, but obviously this kind of candy was impossible to get due to the shortage in Europe of ... well ... just about everything,... but Denmark being a farm country and not too damaged by the war, had no food shortage, so to avoid transporting such products across the Atlantic, the Danish candy producer, Toms, were contacted by the US high command in Germany in 1946, to cut a deal, providing Toms with cocoa beans from South America in return for Toms making candy bars for their troops ... which is why and how it got it's name the 'Yankie Bar'
I love you guys i have been following you now about 2 years, your content is so full of positive energy your love for each other is right there you can see the strength of the friendship as a palpable entity. Please keep up the fun and entertaining energy and I will keep watching you. Ps: how are the children keep running with them and you will never grow up or old lol. In my prayers guys.
@MenTry The original Yankie bar was in fact developed by Tom's of Copenhagen, as the US Army asked if there were an European candy factory that were able to make an American style candy bar for the G.I.s stationed in Europe after WW2. Tom's won the the contract with the Yankie bar.
I would love you to try Odense Chocolate sauce, they also make other desert topping sauces. Toffee is good for long trips in a car or train, keeps you occupied for a long time. Makes trips shorter.
My grandfather would always call my sister and I into his office and “unlock” some candy for us. It was always licorice pastiller, very salty and strong. Love it to this day!
I love Heksehyl and licorice general. Licorice is a root like ginger. We love licorice so much that you put it in, ice cream, alcohol, chocolate, wine gum, and what you got. There are even some who use it as a sweetener. It is also a fantastic product with many vitamins and minerals. We actually have a queen, for now. She is old, and may have plans to abdicate.
I'm American/Utahn, and I really like the salted licorice. I got some Danish stuff last Christmas. It does take time to get used to, but once you do it's phenomenal.
You are welcome in Denmark. We have a Queen Margrethe II. I love licorice, especially Heksehyl(Witch Howl). I like Bugles and chocolate, but not smacks. Im from Denmark and a big fan for 3+ years now. I follow all Your channels. 🥰 love from Denmark 🇩🇰
Lol I love you guys! Having a bad day.. watch you guys for a bit & have really lightened me up for a while so a huge thank you xxx just a quick side note but if u pause it at 11:24 I'm sure Austin & the Prince look quite alike! Lol now people are going to laugh at me 4 thinking it lol aah well! Carry on making us laugh! Love ladies & lattes too and both families vlog channels too, you're ALL Amazing!!
The yanki bar seems similar to a Mars bar that we get in the uk (not sure if you guys have any) Austin would love them if he wants milky way with caramel
Prinzenrolle - Prince roll = is what mothers uset to sneakers in hour backpacks, when we Went scout camping. It Will forever remind me of mouldy tents and happiness
It’s funny to me how people in most other countries despise liquorice. Heksehyl are some of my favourite liquorice. Sweet black liquorice is also delicious. It must be because we have had it our whole life that we like it. I love your channel - greetings from a Dane.
I am from Denmark and I have been eating salty liquorice since I was like 3 - and I literally eat it every single day 😅🇩🇰 O, and sorry, but the sour candy is not Danish, it is from our neighbors in Germany ♥️
In fact the "Prince Biskuit " was baked in Belgium.... it will be sold im Germany, too. Here it is called "Prinzenrolle" - translated as Prince-role. ...
🤣🤣 Love you guys. You are so dedicated to your art 🤣🤣 I love how serious Austin is when he’s trying to describe the flavour of the orange choc and your faces when you had the liquorice 🤣. Love from the UK guys. ❤️
You´re absolutely right, but in my opinion the Mars bar is way to sweet. The Yankie bar has a perfect balance between the caramel and the sugar :) And it is even better when you eat it directly from the fridge.
We have a bad that is like a three musketeers had plus caramel in Canada. It's called a mars had and it is so yummy!! Love you guys! Entertaining as always!💕
I know nobody going read this but the sour candy (katjes - kitties) is dutch and the prince cookies are belgian (A first version of the Prince biscuit was designed and sold in Antwerp in 1894 in honor of the Belgian King Leopold II after he visited the pavilion of cookie manufacturer Edward De Beukelaer at the Exposition Internationale d'Anvers (1894))
"alka-Seltzer works cause it punches the sick out of you!" HAHAHAHA - it always makes me hurl....so gross. Thanks for the laughs! I so enjoy Tuesday video!
I’m an American living half my life now in Denmark and I love heksehyl. Not right away but it sneaks up on you major league. If I had to move back to Los Angeles I’d have friends send me bags of this
Haven’t watch these 2 in a long time and I Can’t stop laughing and my husband is fast asleep next to me I’m wondering if he’s gonna wake up and say what are you laughing at lol x
Yeah but The Smash is actually not from Norway 🇳🇴 not original, but The Smash is actually and original from Denmark 🇩🇰, by the way my friend/ my friends 😉😃😁😃😃😃😃 🙂😎✌️
Smash in Norwegian, and I had no idea how you guys ever are able to suggest it tastes liquorice. You must have gotten a suuuuuuuper stale bag, I've never in my life ever met anyone who didnt love it, so you guys a outliers.
Loved watching this. If you liked that biscuit with the chocolate dipped in the pineapple then I should send you some pineapple lumps from here in New Zealand. They are delicious. They don’t have biscuit in them but are yummy
When Austin tried the sour gummy candy I think they were called Fairytale Land or something like that they had unicorn shape and other shapes he was acting like a kid when he ate them🤣🤣
Actually, English has taken words from the Danish language from when Denmark settled and assimilated in the British isles during their conquests. Meaning Denmark isn't English with cliff notes. English is just a mix of Anglo-Saxon and French with a bit of Danish flavour.
I like Alka seltzer and I miss the taste of it when I'm pregnant Our Danish exchange student brought that licorice with her and I haven't had it since she went back. Oh boy I'm craving it now. My mouth is absolutely watering! The salty pirate coins were really good too.
