I just graduated from CDL school. I got my class B license with automatic restrictions. Im in PA just outside of Philly and I'm working on getting my hazmat and tanker endorsements. I have a few questions about Amerigas. 1)does Amerigas hire new drivers/no experience? 2)if hired, what kind of trucks will a new driver be driving? do new drivers drive these type of bulk tanker trucks? Or do new drivers have to work their way into those bulk tankers? 3)are the trucks automatic or manual? 4)are drivers on call or do drivers home every evening? M-F and weekends off?

@TawdyRay Good luck man! 👍🏼 I’m hearing it’s the same rate up here. That’s pretty good $$$. Did they say anything to you about your DOT medical card? Do you have to goto THIER doctor or can we use our own doctor? And what kind of things did they ask you at the interview? And how long was it? Sorry I’m asking so many questions… I’m only asking cause I’m a 51 year old guy, not particularly in the best shape. But I have a valid DOT medical card from my Dr. But I was at my last job for 23 years and had only 2 interviews since! Lol. So, I’m a little nervous & I’ve been out of the game for awhile! Do they help you get your hazmat & tanker or do you need to already have them when you apply? I appreciate all your help & input.
Amerigas makes you wear ridiculous PPE that no other company does. Many other companies to choose from. Around here Amerigas is on a downward spiral, no office, customers are switching them out like crazy. All goes back to a call center in another state.
@@t4rfl Well, I guess the other 90% of propane drivers out there are not going home safe, without wearing the ridiculous rubber apron and face mask as if propane is some kind of terrible acid.
