Thanks for the demo - I needed it to refresh my memory for an upcoming project. I bought my ARC-200 a couple years ago to fix some broken joints on a wrought-iron chaise lounge (it got hit by a tree branch) and to attach 8 weld cups onto the legs of two patio chairs. I'm a novice and only have 110 outlets but the unit worked fine for that repair project -- although I did burn holes thru a couple of the weld cups. Chalk that up to my lack of skill in attaching steel cups to some solid-rod legs. Now I've pulled out the welder to fix a roof rack made from 2 inch tubes (like exhaust pipes or EMT) and needed a few RU-vid videos on how to use this little welder. Wish me luck. : )

Depending on the thickness of the metal, I would use a 6010 or 6011 (doesn't really make much difference they are very similar), followed up by 7018 to build up the weld. Typically you would have the root weld and then on top of that, assuming it is a fillet weld have two or three 7018 strings covering it. I would recommend you view a couple of videos on stick welding. I am not a professional welder or very experienced either. I'm still learning.

Hi. I intend to fix my truck frame with one like this. I guess this machine works fine for that righ?

I don't see why not. It gets excellent penetration for 6010 and 6011. It can easily weld with 1/8 and 5/32 rods.

2 years later is the Amico still welding ? How did it hold up to 2 years usage? Thanks for video was thinking of getting this welder looks like one of their more powerful models

It is still holding up very well. I don't use it all the time but when I do use it, I have no problems at all.

good film..TU..how is the Arc force? been thinking about one of these. just bought one. should be here by mid next week..

The Arc force is great. It goes from 1 to 10. I find that a 5, 6, or 7 works for me. At 6 an 7018 rod restarts with virtually no problem. At 7 the 6010 is a little bit more forgiving. Don't get me wrong, the machine runs 6010s very well. I am just not a good welder. I have a tendency to have the arc too long with causes the 6010 to cut out and the 6013 and 7018 to arc blow. Keeping the rod closer to the metal eliminates the problems.

@@WV591 I would contact your vendor and complain about them being cracked. If they won't respond don't buy from them again. I would suggest using smaller box weights until you know what you are doing.

Great to know. Mine comes in next week, I'm upgrading from an AC 100 amp (yeah right🙄) unit. It can only run 6013 3/32. 6011 is basically a torch. 7018 sticks. Will this run 1/8 without overheating?
@robertlaw8510
@robertlaw8510 3 года назад
I ran a pad 10 by 10 of 1/8 6010 which was about 20 rods with no overheating problems and this was in the summer. I sure got hot though.

I tried running 7018 today to make a quick welding stand. Tried running at DCEP and DCEN from 80-120 amps. Couldn't keep the arc going. My company uses Lincoln and Miller...maybe I just have to figure out this machine.

@@drpeppero3 7018s are intended to run at DCEP. Perhaps your arc length is wrong.

hi MR Robert i bought last week amicopower mma200 last week.how can i adjust on the machine amp ?because on the machine 2 button.current and arc force.but i dont know how can i use arc force it didnt show digital screen,
@robertlaw8510
@robertlaw8510 2 года назад
On your machine there should be one digital screen that will show the amps that you have selected. The arc force does not show on the screen. The arc force dial on my AmicoPower arc welder does not show on the screen either, but it does work. Mine has the numbers from 1 to 10. From the pictures I have seen of the newest AmicoPower arc welder, which is probably what you have, has ten white blocks. Each of those blocks represent an increase in power of 1. I suggest you try welding at the amp value you want with the arc force turned all the way down. Then try it again using the same amp setting but changing the arc force to see how it affects the weld.

@@volkan271 Are you running with 120 or 240 volts. On welders that handle both voltages, this one does, plugging it into a 120 volt service gives you reduced amperage.

@@volkan271 If they plug you plugged it into looks like a regular house circuit you plugged it into a 110/120 volt circuit. That would limit the amps. Did you plug the machine into the adapter it came with? The first plug on the machine is a 220/240 volt plug and requires a 30 or 50 amp circuit. The adapter allows you to plug into a regular circuit which is a 10 or 20 amp circuit. I don't think you have a problem with your welder and I don't think I've ever welded above 150 amps on mine.
